    That email was me! Thank you so much for this video and it did make me feeling better about my dilemma. I was just shocked when I received the canvas I was talking about in the email because I had not ever had that many colors or so many repeat symbols before. I feel better now about that one but still not sure when I want to give in and tackle it! lol It makes me appreciate even more the companies that take so much care in the hand charting and quality control effort they put into their products. It makes a big difference.

    When I work on my large DP projects, I work from left to right, one row at a time.
    From my perspective, it saves me time & creates less frustration, confusion & planning because there's nothing worse than taking up a new hobby only to discover it can more complicated than one realises.
    I enjoy watching your videos because I get to learn new things & it's interesting to see how others do their DP projects.

    Thank you, Daphne, for this video.❤ I did one with 225 colours and have some more with 250 to 325 in my stash, all Josephine Wall from DPD. I never have more than one wip. So i found out, I have to tackle small sections if I don't want to tire out. I sorted my drills by colour, so I didn't have to change my cases too often. I found it very important to cut the opaque cover in stripes to release the stress on my canvas as I bent over it or rolling it while working on it. My DACs i usually work from the middle to the outside, however with this I coudn't because of confusing the symbols too easily. I partly didn't use a tray, but just worked out of the round lids of the bottles.
    All this said, it was fun to do it and i never downkitted because they all have the same symbols for the same DMC, so for my next JW by DPD I'll just add the additional colours and get started.

      That is one nice thing about DPD JWalls, that the symbols are the same for multiple kits. Thanks for watching!!

    I'm glad I found this video, just for a bit of perspective and some tips. I recently kitted up my biggest diamond painting, which is 180x80cm. Luckily it has less than 100 colours, so in that sense it not as overwhelming, but finding a way to work on this on my relatively small desk that I also have to use for other stuff was not that easy. I definitely think that having a plan is important. I decided to only work on this painting on weekends since I use my desk for work in the week and getting everything out and packing them away just would be too much for weekdays. I'm usually a one canvas at a time person, but I've decided that with this big project I'm not going to rush. I'll do smaller things in between and just work on it whenever I have a weekend where I have enough time. It will get done when it gets done and there is no pressure that way. Just take it a little bit at a time.

      Sounds like you have a solid plan for moving forward with the project. Everyone’s situation is different, and working in a small space can definitely be a challenge. Good luck!!

    Thanks for the great tips! I am working on one that is 168cm wide. I generally work from the bottom up on a DP, but admitted defeat and ended up rolling the canvas up to have only the area I work on accessible and am working on it sideways the entire way... I learned the hard way working on a different large very confetti heavy canvas that just lifting up the clear cover a little at a time was overwhelming me. I couldn't figure out why I was getting stressed out and it was seeming to take longer to get it done.. (I actually like confetti)... but then I realized it was because I had abandoned my normal sectioning off process and was seeing all the symbols outside of where I was working from and was trying to get them all, it was a mess... so I stopped, sectioned it off.. and it went much better! I don't think I could handle 175 colors. I've done ones with 96 colors.. and that was enough for me 🙂

    I totally agree with sectioning it into manageable sections. I use that strategy for everything in my life that is a larger project. My Dad explained it to me many many years ago as the task is akin to earring an elephant; you do it one bite at a time! 😊

    I realised I need multiple projects because my rose square diamond painting is going to take a long time as it's really confetti heavy. I've ordered a cute Bunny Easter project. Been doing bookmarks which makes me feel like I'm getting something done. I really loved this. ❤

      @@TheresaKoziel Most save them to have on hand if you run out of drills on a project, or to use on projects like Heaven and Earth Designs canvases that don’t come with drills. Or just to use on other craft projects. Some just throw them away. Completely up to you what you do with them. Thanks for watching!!

Do you pull all the different symbol drills from you storage container or one at a time while working on a section?? How do you do it??? You have never mention how you do it for a project;; if you have please direct me to that video. thanks I have been watching you for a few weeks now and keep returning to you over some of the other presenters. you do you videos wonderfully. Hi Daphne, I just got a new painting from Diamond Art Club. I am not sure how to use the new diamond painting pen with the wax in it. I am having trouble getting the white wax to come out. There seems to be a plastic piece near the opening. Do I have to remove it to get the wax to come out? When I twist it, nothing seems to happen and I don't feel any wax coming out. I'm not sure how to do it.

    I need some motherly advice. I’ve been struggling with this for some time and this video was eye opening. Here goes: there is a J Wall painting that is no longer available at DAC as we all know. I found it brand new, sealed, on Mercari for $189 plus $14 shipping. Diamond Deutschland has it for appx the same price but the DAC kit has less than 100 colors, I can’t remember the exact amount. So my question is: do the extra 150 colors make that big of a difference? The size of the canvas is exactly the same. Im worried the DD kit with 225 colors will look digitized vs the DAC which will look drop dead gorgeous. I do have the 420 Art-dot case so that’s no problem. I’m also a senior citizen-will I live long enough to finish the DD kit? I’d love to hear your opinion. Also-did you have a lot of static when kitting up? Imagine static x225??? 😱
    Thank you for reading this! ❤

    • @DiamondPaintingAnonymous
      @DiamondPaintingAnonymous  8 місяців тому

      It all depends on what you want. If you like the DAC image and the thought of 200+ colors is not appealing, then I would say go for it. For me personally, I think the Deutschland kits are more true to the original J Wall art, which is what I wanted. However, that does mean you get 200+ colors, instead of 70 or so. Think of the diamonds as pixels - the more pixels you have, the better the pixel will look. I don’t think the Deutschland kits look ‘digitized’ at all - to me, they are richer and look more like the original art, because colors have not been stripped out. But it does make them very confetti heavy, so if you don’t enjoy confetti, you probably won’t enjoy the canvas. As for time - it took me about 180 hours to finish my first J Wall. Spread out over several months, it really doesn’t take that long, especially if it’s your only project. I did not have any static when kitting up - yes, that would have a lot!! Thanks for watching!!!

    • @DiamondsandDobermans
      @DiamondsandDobermans 8 місяців тому

      @@DiamondPaintingAnonymous thank you so much! I was so worried about the final look on the 225 version being digitized. That’s a relief, and I don’t mind confetti at all. In fact I prefer it. And no static is a win as well! I’m anxious to try a DD kit so I think I’ll go for it. Thank you very much. I truly mean that. ❤️

      (Girl math 🤣)
      I ordered Leo in square drills. I saw the DAC unboxing of it and it’s stunning. I’m not into zodiac things so much but this image found its way right into my soul. There was no turning back once I saw it 😍
