    For most of riding season, a rider’s main climate problems are heat and rain. The Alexi 2 jacket and pants are ready to battle for your comfort. For the heat, the Alexi 2 pieces flow plenty of air with their mesh panels, supported by a durable textile chassis. Water doesn’t stand a chance against the removable waterproof liners. Additional features include CE Level 2 armor (shoulders, elbows, knees), thermal liners, and a jacket-to-pants connection zipper to create a full suit.

    Coldest weather I ride in is 40F here in CA so I think this will be perfect for a 4 season jacket. Just picked one up from my local cycle gear, testing it soon!

    I just orders mine yesterday, from the video and description of it sounds like just what I need for New England Spring/Fall weather. Can’t wait to try it on.

    This also comes in light colors for hot climates, desert, looks much nicer than the black jacket on Der Rote Schädel. Not exactly a traditional ADV jacket, could use a couple more pockets.

    Personally I like it but just by looking I know the sleeves are too short for me. I'm 6', 180#, 40" chest 34" waist.
    If he's 5'10" and 190 he damn sure doesn't have a 32" waist. 34 MAYBE. I'm betting the pants he has on are 34"-36".
    ALWAYS GO LARGER with pants to pull them over jeans. Mesh pants are NOT meant as a destination layer. Manufacturers will tell you if this is meant as stand alone. This is not one of them.

    Sedici really upping their game this year - CE lvl 2 standard, a Snell rated helmet coming out... gonna have to take a closer look. Also, though it was not mentioned in the video, I'm going to assume the jacket and pants can be zipped together, but is it just strip in the back, 270 degree, etc

      It's a short connection zipper, about 8 inches. That's pretty standard length as far as short connection zips go. -DrewZilla

    I just purchased a full set. I haven't had a chance to ride yet, but just walking through the house with it on, I could already feel the air moving through! I'm stoked to try the set out, finding comfortable gear for the heat in the desert is a challenge...

    I own the jacket and pants. Love them. One issue. You need to wear a buff because the collar will scratch against the neck.

    • @foolishcoyote.
      @foolishcoyote. 2 роки тому +1

      can you simply razor cut ✂️ the inside buff velcro off and just use the outside velcro closure?

      What’s a buff? Just got this jacket and don’t know how to fix that scratching without damaging the jacket and removing something

    I have the original Alexi 2 jacket and pants. I'm disappointed in the lack of extra venting that this new style doesn't have. The original probably have too many. But certainly, that is better than none. The one only stash pocket doesn't provide very much stowage on the newer version. The older one had a stowage pocket on each of the liners. Possibly overkill or not. I really don't like the non-option of having to remove the warm liner AND the waterproof liner at the same time.
    Sure they have made some improvements on the abrasion side of the new style jacket but at the expense of some convenience, items to keep it at the same price.

    While they're CE level 2, what's the actual armor model installed on the shoulders & elbows?
    How breathable are these armor?

    • @Wabbit1961
      @Wabbit1961 3 роки тому +3

      More than likely it's Knox. If it's black it's Knox, and usually says so on the inside. Companies love to boast when it's D30. Sedici is partner owned by Cycle Gear and RevZilla so they're cutting cost using Knox armor. Honestly, when you're riding in a three layer jacket like this, CE level 1 is plenty, cuts down on weight, and is more flexible/comfortable. I love the external forearm reinforcement on this jacket but it also adds a bit of weight. It will damn sure protect your lower arms in a skid! If you're mainly wearing this because it's mesh then I'd say you're wasting your money on the thermal and waterproof aspects of this model.

      @@Wabbit1961 I've ordered the pants with a Forcefield Isolator 2 hip armor, didn't order a knee armor since the one included is CE Level 2.
      I really want the best available impact protection for my knees since I fractured them before.
      I understand from your comment that the knox armor is not a good quality armor even though it's CE Level 2.
      do you think it's worth replacing them with a better armor?

    RevZilla do you normally find these run way too long on people?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  4 роки тому +1

      Depends on the application. If you are using this on a Sportbike it would likely be a little too long since it is cut for more of an upright riding bike. However, comparing to other jackets or like models on the market the length is about the same unless comparing to very short sport jackets that need the freedom of movement under the front torso in the full tuck. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or CS@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat
