Honestly the Alderson disk is more impressive than the birch world simply because you get more of a sense of scale, with a birch world all you know is infinite scalability. With and Alderson disk you can clearly see that each section has 15 districts, with each district producing a planet or more worth of resources. Which is insane but now you can properly imagine it

The amount of effort that you put into these full playthroughs and longer videos is incredible. I have 800 hours in the game so know full well how long it can take, but to then take that time that you've already spent playing and to cut it down into a video that is enjoyable and engaging is amazing
@@spikey6694 in my defence i only got the game about a year and a half ago, somewhere around federations and necroids release, so that's why my numbers are low
Fun fact! (if I recall correctly) the stellar systemcraft has the skull-thing because its fleet power overflows... twice. It goes to the max 32bit integer limit (should be 2,147,483,647, again IIRC), then overflows to -2,147,483,648, goes back up to 2,147,483,647 and then some. It ought to be in the billions of fleet power which is plain ridiculous :D
So the system craft is 8-10 billion fleet power? Not even the crisis in the mod pack is that strong. Add on the repeatable energy weapon, kinetic, and explosive weapon.... Armor and shields repeatable and it just is insane OP
@@glechrem yeah but you can download a mod that will recalculate fleet power. Your starting fleet of 3 corvettes has 2 power. And even with that mod the stellarcraft is still just a skull
Just think about how "good guys" the stellar craft are, for a moment, see most of the time when you destroy civilizations in Stellaris there's at least some plausibility of an archeological record to be left behind even when you simply destroy the planets the debris would be left in the star's orbit, with these things, not only are you converting the planets and moons into ships, but the star as well, effectively removing the last trace of them from existence outside your own records.
Cannot second this enough. Honestly surprised people with decent screen resolutions can play Stellaris after experiencing that mod. One thing worth point-out with UI Overhaul Dynamic: If you run (some) extra accession/tradition mods it can CTD when selecting 8+ tradiions. Not after you have that many, just selecting them.
TTGL, and its even MORE over the top movie: "It could also be EVEN bigger, and also a drill instead of a gun. A drill a magnitude larger than the largest known existing galaxy!"
You really need to get another mod that gives you more ascension perk slots. It's almost impossible to play with giga engineering without that. Too many perks you need for the 8 slots in vanilla.
You can build megastructures that print moons and planets at no influence cost, just need to destroy some asteroids / moons / planets for mass. You can also disable the influence upkeep in the settings at the start of a playthough. In my last one i had 8 planetcrafts and i've run out of Culture-themed names for them that i could remember. The planetcraft have unique modules that can be fitted to them, that make them even more powerful, really need to install a UI-overhaul, might even be worth it for this playthrough. The devs of the mod keep a good google doc about all the structures and things if you want to learn from that rather than building.

Thank you Lathrix for these playthroughs. I enjoy them immensely and watch every single one to the end despite their length. It’s just something of the long burn build up that I find so satisfying.
One thing you can do with the massive ships that have too many weapon things to fit is use the "fill empty" to fill all the empty slots of a certain type. It allows you to quickly fill slots with what you want, since you can remove components more easily than placing them with all the clipping and overlapping. You can also use afterburners instead of shield capacitors for the speediest of planets and systems since they don't really need the extra shielding in most cases.
And yes Lathrix, Get a traditions extension and ascension perk extension mod. you will run out of traditions, but will still have to juggle ascension perks depending on if you double or triple the amount of ascension perks you can have at once. But the Up side even with giga structure ascension perks you can have more of the good things. Most games now I end up with most of the megastructure perks. It really helps verse the gigastructure crisises
I just want to say your Stellaris videos are my favorite for the game. Easily digestible and always entertaining. Haven't made it very far into the video yet, but I do suggest a mod that addes some ascension perk slots with megastructures. I use one that adds 4 slots. Plus, I get to use some less used perks that aren't considered "meta" for fun.
I use these long playthroughs as background noise to help me sleep. These last few weeks have been SO good for my sleep and thus mindset since I started using these❤
Oh, if i remember correctly, a systemcraft can kill off about twice the number of attack moons and planetcraft it takes to make it in one go. Maybe more. Aside from superweapons like the dyson beam, it's the strongest thing in giganstructures. Apart from the hunters. Probably need a couple of systemcraft to fend those lads off.

It will be extremely terrifyingly hard tho. As for this video, it was extremely entertaining! Cant wait for the blokkats
Imagine just chillin' on your planet, thinking ya are one of the races in the galaxy, the most powerful and advanced... and then this, the Systemcraft "battleship" appears... that must be sh*tpantsingly scary I can't even fathom. Like if you take it, something this big would be visible from the Oort cloud. And just the passive gravitational pull would tear our Solar system apart.
I do appreciate these full playthroughs of yours.
With this recent gigastructure playthroughs, you should play on a tiny galaxy, faster tech research and higher difficulty to weigh it out.
That way you could probably also make full playthroughs better for the channel, by producing these videos faster and more of them. Reducing micro-management.
Been loving the Stellaris content! Keep up the great work!
