@@nocx4592 Indeed, this 'determined exterminator' doesn't care about what you are, organic or machine. You are material, and you will be harvested, it has no hard feelings because its literally its designed purpose. This type of AI is called a 'Paperclip maximiser', designed to do something, and then proceeds to kill its creators because it its more efficient towards its job.
The admiral was an outlier, an efficient subroutine that would streamline the Harvester Cores capacity to process and harvest more material. They allow him, because they demand it.

The Stellaris wiki is a really useful source of info, and it does seem that you are correct, the strategic coordination centre does, in fact, give a 150 fleet cap increase, a 15% sublight speed and an increase in starbase cap as well. It also adds more defence platforms (possibly) per star base, which would be quite useful in defence.

I would suggest using the mod for the AI, because no matter how early you make the end game crisis appear, all regular empires will be just as pathetic. And if it will spawn at the other side of the galaxy, it will chew through all of the AI without any effort and snowball to the point where it is impossible to stop untill you own more then half of the galaxy. Or at least I expect it to happen that way.

This is a bit late, but I did the math for which is better against the scourge, the torpedoes or the cloud weapons, and the result is that as long as the (unshielded) enemy ship's armor is less than 5 times bigger than its hull, torpedoes are better (not accounting for range, evasion or flak shooting down the torpedoes). With the scourge ships' armor being about twice their hull the torpedoes are about twice as effective in terms of raw damage, and given that the range of torpedoes is better and the scourge has no point defences I'd say the torpedoes would've been bettter pick

Tempest made me shiver. They made my last playthrough so friggin hard. To summarize, everyone was late to the L-Gate thing. They were kinda far from the borders of everyone (can happen with these bigger galaxy mods I was on a 5000 stars map). Anyways. The Scourge invaded the galaxy and everyone was already in a big scuffle with someone else me included. So of course this idiotic democratic crusader empire goes and beat me to the insights and opens the gate. And it's the tempest. So I am fighting a war on two fronts already. To the south the scourge is aggressively trying to eat me. To the north this awakened empire is giving me trouble. And now there are nano fleets pouring out of the gates to my east and west. After all this, very few empires were still somewhat standing once the scourge, tempest and big ole awakened empires were dealt with. It sent the galaxy back 200 years in terms of territories...Previously owned clusters of hundreds of stars were now barren and full of debris (thank you battle debris mod). It was glorious in it's special way.

But what I find hardest is the difference to Sectors. Unless I manually put resources in, that I can’t ever get out again, they won’t self develop. But they will, even without a Governor. I just don’t see any point to giving them Energy, they don’t clear blockers.

I specialize the planets through buildings and whatnot, with the general purpose fast building Habitat Bots, and once the jobs I want are filled I turn off planet pop growth and move on to another few planets to max out, never needing to go back. I just couldn’t use an empire that can’t shift pops around as needed.

To demolish, you can push Delete and enter to speed up the process
Also as a machine empire, use Habitats to replace your mining stations, with a Martial Law habitat with the mining job thing, and the unity building, you can get upwards of 200 minerals per habitat... and about 100+ fleet capacity

I am playing through with DE right now too on GA. I think my settings could be challenging for you. 600 stars, 18 AI, 18 advanced starts, GA, crisis strength 10x, midgame 2275 and endgame 2350. I use glavius AI too, so early to midgame, AI is playing very well actually.
