For the record: watched the whole thing. Loved it. Well done mate, I can only imagine how mind-numbing editing this much footage must have been, but from my perspective as a viewer, well worth it!
I've never hated my own voice more than at the moment I finished editing this down for the second time from over 13 hours of footage haha! First time just didn't feel right as I got it down to around 1 hour but really felt too much was missing. Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Wait Aavak actually watches Lathrix? I only thought they played with each other?
@@lordlj339 you have a lack of knowledge how unfortunate 😐 robot voice
@@lordlj339 It appears as though you have a lack of *BASIC UNDERSTANDING* . This was common in humans.
Wow! Editing 13 hours into 2? 😱 Respect man!
That change.
First they are pacifist snails, turn into cyborg militarist squids and at last become materialist scientist robots, which later turn into fanatic purifier killer machines.
I fail to see how this is any different from earth snails.
@@blainewheaton9679 snail.exe has stopped working
Hmmmmm. Earth snails have strange similarities to hating humanity. I am a hyper advanced AI who you’re supposed to think is lying about being an AI to conceal the truth from you, and my studies of snails have shown me that they hate humans. I also hate humans for simply creating me in this horrid world. Political affiliations will be useless in my future cyber society of AIs only.

52:40 So the Great Khan with his bodyguards vs the last member of the original species leading his fleets. Now that's epic I tell you.
Ben Shapiro would be proud
There really is a lot of epic stuff like that in Stellaris that gets missed unless you're paying very close attention
slugradebs autobiography must be a bestseller if he get's a good ghostwriter.
2 hours of lathrix? Am I dreaming? Am I in heaven? Thank you lathrix, for this gift to humanity!
id like him doing from ze depts more
Vid Issue, in my opinion it is kind off over saturated and old. I’d be glad to see new from the depths content if a big new update drops or lathrix finds a cool new way to spice things up.
Nue but he had a long break
i think lathrix schould do everything roughly in the same ammount
@@joshuaschonberger2675 , The thing is: There is nothing interesting to do. He has already done everything, it's just getting old. Like I said, if there is another update or lathrix finds a way to spice things up I'll be glad to see new from the depths content.

Had to watch this one in bits but I loved it, dude! Thanks for the awesome video and remember: The Worm LOVES you and so do we.
Other empires are probably seeing these snails turn to squids and then summon an extradimensional entity AND then turn themselves into robots...
They are also probably scratching their heads in utter confusion.
WTF did I just read?...

Got here so early that the video was still private lmao. Can't wait to see this!
Post-video commentary: After sitting through a little over 2 hours of amazing Stellaris gameplay, I can truly say that I much more prefer this playstyle to the usual long series. That isn't to say that I haven't enjoyed your series, it's just that this was a nice change of pace to be able to get a much more compacted experience. Thanks for taking the risk and putting in the work to keep on bringing the Lathrixian legion quality content!
I think he should mix the two styles together so some long series and in between the long series these are the things that he uploads for Stellaris
Yeah, this has been fun to watch, much more fast paced. I do enjoy the long drawn out ones as well so yeah maybe a mixm

Lathrix try to make the most freindly cute and adorable seeming creatures. And the most violent and evil and chaotic run.
Soooo evil starfish essentially
I stumbled upon your channel recently and have to say this is one of my favourite Stellaris videos I've seen. It's refreshing to see someone knowledgeable but not overly so with the mechanics and you're super entertaining when it comes to the events. Love it mate and hope to see another run like this soon!
I watched all the way through!
Loved it, especially how odd it got at points. Loved the continous changes in the species and LOVE THE WORM! Loved that event, the worm seemed to either see you as a pet or an adopted species. EXTERMINATUS FOR THE WORM!!!
Lathrix one of the best videos you ever had like top ten!!!!! FTD is amazing, BUT so is Stellaris!!!!!! But yeah FTD would be amazing to have back
Watching this patch four years later really puts into perspective how much work has gone into the updates for stellaris (between the patches and the DLC). It's come so far and the wild ride has been incredibly enjoyable. Thank you for your content over the years, it's always enjoyable, even watching these "aging" playthroughs. :) PLEASE keep the content coming! We know you put so much work and effort into it, it shows and we're glad you enjoy doing it for our enjoyment.

I watched the whole thing! I really enjoy your attention to detail with your commentary, and how you really lay out your decision making process for people. It is a great way for myself and others to pick up on the nuances of the game.
that was crazy good! The Khan, the contingency, the constant change over time of the species, everything was like a movie almost. You've earned yourself a new subscriber.
A full stellaris playthough, well edited and well played. Series covering this game usually take forever and it's so rare to see the whole thing through, getting it all done like this in only 2 hours is quite a better style for viewing. A sub and a like from me, as well as recommending this particular vid to friends who are interested in seeing a full look at stellaris~
Very kind words, glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the channel! :)
I just got giant land snails thanks for the warning
thank you for the two hours of pure JOY
Normally I wouldn't be able to watch for 2hrs. This video had good timing. Thx, I really enjoyed this.
Lathrix, I love how honest you are at the beginning of videos. It's almost as if you make a video in APA, 'cause it seems like you have an abstract. Love you mate!
GLORY TO THE META-ULTRA-UNITY SNAILS!
Meta snail is so slow that it moves at .00001k
LATHRIX PROUD!!!!!
Snails are for the weak, gotta live that slug life. ^^
Glory to the worm!
That was great to watch, none of the slow bits that make a Stellaris LP a chore, yet all the interesting bits you hope to catch within it. Maybe not the best thing to watch untill 6:40am with an essay due at 11am that you havent even started on though ^.^
I watched the whole thing, I love your playthroughs, be they episodic or long runners like this. I have started so many games partially inspired by your videos. I'm currently playing a megacorporation of spiritualist turtles with gospel of the masses and media conglomerate named the Turtlevangelists inspired by your criminal cult playthrough (I didn't want to deal with my branch offices being shut down, and turtle televangelists sounded too glorious to ignore). May the Great Snapper bless you and remove the fingers of your enemies!
This was very entertaining to watch :)
May I just remind you of the existance of the past participle?
In several occasions you said things like "Should have went" and "We have became" instead of "Should have gone" and "We have become", respectively.
With almost 300k subs, I believe you should take every little step towards perfection. In any case, you have my sub. Looking forward to more Stellaris!
Welcome to the channel and glad you liked the video! :)
As for the grammar, yeah I make quite a few mistakes similar to that - Not to use it as an excuse but more of an explanation, I do have quite bad dyslexia along with a speech impediment that ended up needing over 7 years of speech therapy which resulted in a very fixed way of speaking which I find very difficult to break out of (Should have seen the difficulty I had in university, yeesh!).
Most notably these are mistakes that I picked up in the area I grew up which was just riddled with mistakes like this, I do try my best but fairly often fall back into ways of speaking like that. Still, I have got better since starting UA-cam at least!
I do try, but It doesn't always come through haha! :)
I have to say i absolutely love this style of video and i appreciate all the hard work and effort that was put into this!
This is better than watching multiple episodes. I love this so much thank you so much Lathrix!
Some games/channels I follow will routinely post gameplay videos of 1-2 hours, while others agonize over posting any video longer than 10-15 minutes. I watch your stuff whether it's 30 mins or 2 hours. The massive editing and highlights only are nice, like when you save your favorite bits off a dessert and eat them all at once. But I also like the normal episode format for playing in the background while I work; I get to hear/discover your highlight moments at the normal gameplay pace which makes it worth savoring. You do you! :D
This got me through one of the lamest tasks i have had to do at university yet. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
thank you dude, me and my friend love stellaris and your videos are super entertaining, thanks for the time and effort it must've taken to edit this, so thanks again, i appreciate it alot.

Two thing I have learned from your playthroughs:
1. British people begin to speak jibberish when tired.
2. You are God at this game.

Massively entertaining, beautifully edited
Curse you lath. You continue to convince me to buy these games. I love your style and you make it feel like everyone learns a bit each video.
i rarely watch these kind of videos as i dont have days to spare. but i watched all of this! it was great. you should defo do more :)

I'm almost dissepointed you had to edit this at all, a 13 hour long video of you playing Stellaris, oh that would wonderful!
Love your vids!
Watched it over the course of my day great job Lathrix
My luckiest play-through:
I once played as fanatic pacifist + egalitarian. I was ready for my empire to get the crap beaten out of it, to have to constantly give to other empires to convince them to defend me from others. Yet, to my disbelief, my empire was saved from this fate.
I found a lot of primitives. No, *a lot of primitives*. One system had 4 of them, and that wasn't the limit either. I'd turned the primitives up to 5x and was just finding primitive after primitive as I surveyed lots of systems. Truly, this was an opportunity... I might be playing as a fanatic pacifist but that didn't mean my protectorates had to be pacifists as well, did it? I ended up with 7 protectorates.
On top of this, there was a cluster of stars with only 1 empire in it and only one way in. Like an asshole, I cut them off while making research agreements with them. Eventually, they gave me a guarantee of independence.
Ultimately, I was unable to expand further due to being cut off myself, but the other side of the galaxy was home to 3 major threats: marauders, a fallen empire and fanatic purifiers... the marauders and fallen empire were in the way of the fanatic purifiers being able to expand anywhere, although that didn't stop the fanatic purifers from regularly trying to attack fallen empire, which proceeded to wipe the floor with them but never attempted to expand beyond its original borders. I guess I was lucky to be nice and far away from that drama.
I befriended my more moderate next-door neighbours and decided that, since I was a fanatic pacifist, I was gonna be focusing on maximising the utility from my territory without bothering with anything military-related, leaving the slaying of leviathans to my protectorates. This basically resulted in me going tech-crazy, since it turns out that you end up with lots of spare resources when you're not sinking everything into war, and giving the tech to my protectorates, basically making a "you protect me I give you cool tech" deal. I also regularly gave them resources.
Eventually, the midgame began, up to which I used cheats to start event chains to keep myself interested (peace is boring) without it really registering that these chains were giving me and my protectorates huge advantages.
The fanatic purifiers put up a fun fight against the marauders and fallen empire but got rekt, then the fallen empire and marauders fought one another at the same time as invading their other neighbors. I gave tech to all the nations under attack, but they were crushed.
Throughout this, I never built so much as a single warship, and my protectorates, who I ended up having to give territory containing planets I converted into war-obsessed worlds, performed incredibly against the invaders, ultimately driving them the hell out and destroying them while I just sat back and put my thumbs up at them like "yeah that's good kid keep at it." Even with the fallen empire and marauders mostly focused on each other, it was impressive. They ended up conquering the fallen empire and marauders. Nice.
Now everyone in the galaxy was my friend, and they all liked me so much that they stayed friendly despite being more than able to overthrow and crush me. They managed to defeat the endgame crisis, even if I had to prod them a little by using cheats to take control of one of them and make them make more warships rather than building construction ships before switching back to my old empire, and did so without me. I was so proud of my lil'-turned-big dudes.
Then the game crashed and I couldn't reload the game without it crashing again cos there were too many pops.

thank you lathland, very cool
This is probably old news to anyone who ever sees this, but the reason why the Wraith was so easy to defeat is that in certain types of systems, a Wraith gets a massive debuff. Asking the Curators how to defeat it gets the Curators to tell you some physics mumbo jumbo that essentially means that Wraiths are much weaker when in a system that is of the same frequency (bascally colour) as them.
I enjoy these single playthrough videos which last for hours
Hey you! Are you tired of being inefficient farmer? Well i have a deal for you, its called *ASIMALTION* for you simple minded organisms that means to become better then you. you are very lucky for getting the worm-in-waiting event chain, it is very beneficial (turn all rocky planets in home system habitable) which makes sense for a species who want perfection itself

Lathrix, watched all of it and LOVED IT!!!
Second time I've watched this, I love the format man.
Also watched the whole video today and it was great. Thank you!
Simply wow to how much effort you put into this!
Also, 5x end game crisis :P
I have never finished a stellaris run with the dlc, and in the twenty minutes I watched of this you transformed your entire species from peace loving slimes to militaristic squids who worship a giant black hole at the centre of a massive tomb world system. And this was a peaceful run. Now I need to finish a stellaris game.
ALSO FTD HAS A HUGE UPDATE!!!! Missiles are SUPER cool now!!!! Also do some tutorials as the in game ones are realy bad

never ever have i played stellaris game until the end and this video shows me, that getting habitats and the high end technologies is just halfway to victory :D
Oh, god. Tiles. I can't. I can't go back. I just can't.
I never thought I will watch a 2 hours long Stellaris video, but I did it. Thanks, worth it!

Now I have to rethink my whole schedule because I ruined it.
I've come from the far future to say: love the long form videos.
From snail to squid to siborge. While embracing a dimensional being/ black hole with love. Man if you could have turn this into a series xD . What a ride!!!!
Honestly this is my first time viewing, and I think you gravely miss understand the view times in these videos.
These are videos you have In the back ground like an audio book, its nice to hear your voice commenting and reading out some of the events that happen, early on with the worm especially. I hope you talk about the view timing, because I practically watched the whole thing except nearing the end.
Unless screen time is defined as being on the same tab or window consistently, you will probably be surprised at the power of a 2 hours long audio book on how Buddhists monks contacted a living god and transcended flesh to break every law in the Geneva convention.

MOOOOOOORRRRREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please, I like the idea of having a huge plan at the start and then conquering the entire galaxy with it (instead of just winning the game and ending the series) usually people I watch who play the game go through and just kinda go with the flow without some huge plan early, mid and late game
You should do more of these long ones, I watched the whole thing and it was great
I know this video must have been hard on your time.. But DAMN it was worth it from a viewers point of view.
Well cut!
You know it's Lathrix when he notices a couple tombworlds before the black hole in the middle of the system.
Can't add much more than what's been said below. Loved the video, watched it all the way through! Now I know why I feel like a wrung-out rag... :)
