1932 ford #105 model A or B flathead race block crack repair by tatro machine
I used lock-n-stich crack repair pins.
I used both castmaster and tapered pins to fix the cracks
this model A block was run in a lakester at Bonneville without water. when that happened it over heated the block and cracked the one cylinder and intake port.
all these ford flathead 4 cylinder blocks from 1928-34 are about the same so this repair should work for them too.
I am old US Army engineer.
In army sometimes supply breakdown, no can get critical parts. Mission must go on.
You do what you can.
You use your knowledge and skills. You use what you have.
Improvise, adapt, overcome, pull miracle out of tin can.
In end, motor run again.
Man triumphs.
Wind in face flying down the road.
Salute to good mechanic!
Very nice to watch.
Very satisfying.
...stupid question, but how or why is this an effective method for fixing cracks in blocks? What is the metallurgy Mechanics and science behind this process? I would've thought, that this process would stress the crack more, and create a bigger problem in the engine block. I don't understand it, and who developed this process or discovered it?
Thanks, from a backyard hobbyist engineer, and auto mechanic lol
just go to the lock-n-stitch website and read all about it.

What kind of metal screw you using
..they are called Lock-N-Stitch.. I think
Thanks, Alfredo from Texas.
Why do y'all keep working on them crappy blocks. They're obviously junk they're off failing in need of repair and not building a bunch of horsepower there's not a big market for them I don't understand why you're messing with them
because going fast with old crap that they say you can not do is fun.
