People thought this was gonna be Marvel's biggest flop, since the Guardians was really unknown and pretty bizzare, even comic fans thought so.
But they were able to make them the big hitters in the Marvel Universe.

Done properly you can actually grow a tree from a proper part of another tree, that isn't even a seed. They call it cloning it, but it's not exactly the same as cloning, it's just a colloquial term for it. This is very much like that.

Groot seems to exhibit a form of asexual reproduction akin to vegetative propagation. Likely, processes that involve cellular totipotency, meristematic tissue growth, and regenerative growth are all involved. From a biological perspective, it's likely Groot is the same Groot, regenerated from a remnant, a cutting, of the same organism. In the comics, Groot is often portrayed as retaining the essence and memories of himself across regenerations.
However, at least within the MCU, there seems to be a bit of conflict/confusion regarding whether or not Baby Groots generated from cuttings are actually the same original Groot, whether they are separate entities that retain genetic/conscious memory of their prior selves, or whether they are genetic asexual duplicates but without any conscious memory of their progenitors.
Kevin Feige, back in 2016, was reported to have responded to a backstage journalist query on Groot's death in GOTG. He mentioned that Baby Groot was not mentally a baby, equating his situation to Spock's rebirth in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. He suggested that Baby Groot, grown from a twig of the original Groot, retained the former's memories.
James Gunn, the director of the trilogy, went on later to state Feige didn't understand his creative vision, and that Baby Groot was indeed a separate entity. There was a lot of back and forth between fans and Gunn, with some legitimate scientific arguments brought to bear.
Ultimately, Groot is a fictional character and has a limited audience in the original comics. He was essentially catapulted to public attention due to the MCU's adoption of him in GOTG. In this sense, it's really a case of a director's whim as to character origins, development, retconning, etc. in whatever media production the character appears in.
However, based on the totality of depictions within the MCU universe alone, the preponderance of evidence favors Gunn's explanation that the original Groot did indeed die in GOTG 1, and Baby Groot is, at least consciously, a separate entity.

He is actually royalty. (This is not a spoiler because they will not go into it.)

He tends to play as a secondary protagonist in movies, who is rough around the edges and butts heads with the main protagonist but still joins them (or he will swing between playing a police detective/captain, and a straight up evil villain). • @JulieFreyHomeWebBiz
    @JulieFreyHomeWebBiz 2 дні тому +3

There are by now mini baby Groot episodes on Disney+ that fit starting now.
Howard the Duck is a legendary comic character. I think it is hard to represent other than in a comic book or animation and a voice actor.
Back when music was either in the form of vinyl records or audio cassettes, the audio cassette was a way to save music in custom lists. If one owned a portable tape player, the music could be enjoyed anywhere. It also reduced wear & tear on vinyl albums. High fidelity brand audio tapes became available to save music recorded with top quality and wide ranges. It was also possible to save TV shows in audio form.
This movie in use of music was most innovative and artfully done. We of course already have source music (characters hear it) and nonsource music (soundtrack music). Some of it is in more of a form of music video where the music and the action fit together.
End titles also are fun to read and you can find list of all music used. Don't skip that!

Hello Nick & Wen!😊 James Gunn's directorial debut was actually a body horror film called "Slither" (2006). It actually feels like and 80s horror film tribute. Recently he made the film "The Suicide Squad" (2021). Not to be confused with "Suicide Squad" (2016) which is not as good. Yep, that was "Howard the Duck" (1986), a film that was not very good. Yondu (Michael Rooker) is probably best known from the TV series "the Walking Dead". Groot's language does actually consist of just "I am Groot" with every sentence meaning something different. James Gunn took inspiration from the main characters on Farscape to write these characters. Starlord is very much like John. Gamora is just like Claudia Black’s Aeryn, Drax is like D’Argo. Rocket is like the comic relief Rygel. Groot is like a combination of Pilot and Zhaan. Farscape is in Peacock, and Tubi. It was created by Brian Henson with the Henson Creature effects and Rockne O’Bannon who created V, Alien Nation and Seaquest.

Prior to Guardians James Gunn worked on a horror movie called Slither and a superhero movie called Super. 😂
Elvin Bishop recorded Fooled Around and Fell In Love featuring Mickey Thomas from Starship on the vocals. 😅
A typical raccoon in captivity lives about 3 years. In the Wild about 5 years or so.
The Nova Corps is Marvel's version of the Green Lantern Corps. Intergalactic policeman as it were. 😮
Nebula is a cyborg. Short for Cybernetic Organism. Part organic part machine.
They actually made a dancing Groot toy. You might be able to find one on E-bay. 😂

Agree…One of the best sound tracks going. The song „Come and Get Your Love“ was performed by a Native American band called ‚Redbone“. There‘s a uTube video of them performing this song on the 70‘s tv show „The Midnight Special“. An excellent show with live performances of the top band of the day. Have fun!!!

I love this movie, and the sequels too. No. 2 is even more fun, and No.3 is really excellent.
Drax is my favorite character and the interaction with, "Nothing goes over my head ..." is my favorite line.
I've always been a fan of Lee Pace who plays Ronan. He is such a good actor. I recommend you watch more of his movies and tv series: Soldiers Girl (2003), Wonderfalls (2004 tv), Infamous (2006), The Fall (2006), Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008), Pushing Daisies (2007-09 tv), The Hobbit (2012 & 2013), The Hobbit (2014), Halt and Catch Fire (2014 -17 tv), Captain Marvel (2019).

Yes, Howard the Duck is another famous Marvel comic character! 😉Having Howard the Duck show up at the end was such a fun cameo for this movie to do considering the history of Howard the Duck on film. They made a Howard the Duck movie back in the 1980s that was a legendary flop and generally considered one of the worst movies ever made! That said, it does still maintain a collection of fans as a cult film now.
So, yeah, lots of comics fans were very surprised/pleased to see Howard show up for this comedic cameo (and very appropriate that Guardians of the Galaxy would be the movie to do it in).

Keep in mind the MCU guardians are weaker than their comic book counterpart. For example comic Drax was a human place in a alien Divine body with the Pacific purpose to defeat Thanos so he was a lot stronger than Thanos. Now regarding the MCU Drax who is the lone survivor of his alien race after it was destroyed by Ronan on the order from Thanos isn't near the strong of the comic book version but that doesn't take away from his power which is around 100 tons while also having a durability Factor that could withstand a nuclear bomb. The only reason Ronan seem overwhelming to Drax was due to the fact ronan strength is equal to current Thor strength and power level rivals Thor's with the infinity stone in his universal Hammer weapon. Rocket is smarter than Tony Stark and Dr banner combined. Gamora has a strength level around 30 ton which attribute to her being the best assassin in the universe.

Since there was much debate in the fan community for a long time, and it was eventually clarified by James Gunn much later, the Groot we saw through most of this film is definitely dead. Baby Groot (as the character is later known) would be more akin to the original Groot's son. There are no transferred memories or shared experience. The new Groot is literally a new Groot.
