They also did a splendid and very appreciated total breakdown of what would have really been the end cost of their project, including actual pricing of the freebies that youtubers usually get, which is literally unseen so far. This channel will be going places!
Really liked the total cost breakdown! Really we need more of that. The freebies are okay but I always like to know how much stuff would run me as a normal guy. Keep doing what you're doing please :)
The cost breakdown at the end was EVERYTHING. More channels need to do stuff like that, puts building a car into perspective for those who haven’t done it before. Also Edwin, nice arse crack
looking at the heavier soot on the passenger side, you may have some early bore scoring on the driver side cylinders. Pull the spark plugs and oil pan, then use a borescope to check the cylinder walls, ESPECIALLY #4 and #6. If there's scoring, take it to Hartech and they'll make it better.
@@MrCaterhamr500 less common doesn't mean never happens. Ferrostan piston coatings wear at a lower rate than the grafal on '02+, but still wear (especially if poorly maintained). That soot on the left side is an early indicator of bore scoring and no one is hurt by checking the cylinders.
Bearing in mind that quite a few of those parts and mods were preferential, and not mandatory to pass an MOT, you totally have got this "back on the road" for double it's price. Winner.
Lads, you might have air in the cooling system, next to the blue cap on the coolant tank, should be another back looking cap, with a lever on it, when cold, remove the blue cap, and lift and lock up the lever on the black cap, should hear some air gurgle away. Its the bleeder valve on the expansion tank. Hope this helps and might help with the over heating issue
You'd hope between all the guys at the performance shop who looked at it, one would know to look around for a bleeder as they're quite common on cars over the last 30yrs
I’ve never heard of that, I’ve heard of the only way to solve air in a system like this is either vaccum fill it or hope it can burp itself with the cap open

The best bit about that new exhaust is that it makes a lot more 'flat-six' noises and I think it might even sound better than it did without the muffler. Too many after-market exhausts are just generic loudness and noise, so for Rich to wing it and make something that makes it genuinely sound better is a great advert for his skill.

Hey dudes, with the roof, try getting some really fine wet and dry paper and sanding a very fine layer of lacquer off, then use an orbital buffer to cut and polish it to look like new :) I did this with my bonnet and looks amazing now.
