I like how you explain this. Other MTB riders get to technical and their skills are so advance so they make it look easy BUT I can relate with what you’re doing and skill level. Liked and subscribed…
Great explanation on this! Just getting into trail riding and sick of walking over "that log" every time. Made it over with my new Scott Scale- but can't explain how. Now I'm all set!
You do an amazing job of explaining! Im a new member of your channel! Cant wait to take to the trails. Im doing a pretty good job with my riding, but those bigger logs? Im sick of lifting my specialized over them. Practice.. the name of the game! thanks again.. Charles in the Wilds
Excellent vid. This popped up on my feed and although I already know the technique (been using it since 1990 lol) I always watch vids to see what extra little tricks I might not be aware of and might be able to pick up. Your vid does a great job of explaining the technique-Simple and concise- and I think anyone struggling with logs needs to watch this. I have to admit tho- at 48 my biggest struggle now with logs is always have the energy to perform the technique!!! Fatigue is real now- sometimes I just look at a log and am like- nah- too tired. Lol. Ride on man! 🤘🤙
I cant fathom how this guy explained it to me and I understand it yet super rider and some more cant seem to explain it to me there like hi wanna get over okay front wheel up and now combine the 1 to jump over lol 😂😂
Great video, the process was entertaining and the break down was understandable, feel like you could have went a bit more into the body movement. I ride in an area with a lot of stone benches constantly dropping down and trying to get up, they are often >2 feet and pure granite so often can get my wheel up onto them but don't always have the ability to clear with my back wheel and grind the chain ring or catch a pedal on the edge.
Probably work better on a hardtail. You get better returns on your preload without suspension. Bunny hop a bmx bike and then try it with a downhill bike.
I “believe” it’s all the same fundamentals. Granted I’m learning as well. You preload the same it’s just have that extra spring so you must try harder, faster, better.
Or you could have just lifted one end of the log, put a board in, walked to the other side, lifted and put a board in there... and you only had to lift the log 1.5" rather than trying to roll it up 10". q8)
If you have any tutorials you want me to do let me know and I will try my best!

This is probably the best explanation I have ever seen of how to get over logs. Great job.
Great method of raising the same log, I'm going to go find a log now!
That was totally entertaining…and helpful!
Great description, pointing out the 1st and 2nd preload.
Haha. You worked well to construct the last height on that log. New achievement unlocked.
You did a great job with this video. Seriously. Well done
Easy on full sus. Not so on hardtail.

Dude that last one was sick!!
Thank you for sharing your progress. Very relatable!
This is much better and simpler than a bunny hop!
Nice job bro!
“Oh my goodness” - I like this guy and his parents.

Nice! Glad it helped!

I agree! more videos please!
Great getting over the BIG log.....and very impressive getting the log up the ramp as well.

I’m so glad the UA-cam algorithm is finally working for me finally 😂. Thanks for your support man I really appreciate it!
Love this! Great skills progression, incremental failures and ultimate successes. Love this!
COOL
i will get out tomorrow and give it a try. Thank you
Some riders called this the punch. Nice one dude
I cant fathom how this guy explained it to me and I understand it yet super rider and some more cant seem to explain it to me there like hi wanna get over okay front wheel up and now combine the 1 to jump over lol 😂😂
Hey Dude, Well Done! Seriously nice hopping! Thanks for the video, enjoyed it.
Thanks. I’m glad you did!
You have a good vertical without the bike! Great vid!
Thanks!
Fireworks explosion as you get over the log ! :D
Great video! What's the name of the bike you're riding?
Fun to watch!
Great stuff!
Dude that's awesome, I think ill try it
Cool Good luck!
Really helpful! Thanks for this!
Michael Owen Sure thing. I’m glad it could help!
CRAZY MO FO HAHA Good job

Super
Hahaa. Great video.
Simply solution. I go around it. Lol
Will it work the same way with a hardtail bike?
Yup should work just fine
Probably work better on a hardtail. You get better returns on your preload without suspension. Bunny hop a bmx bike and then try it with a downhill bike.
But man, that isn’t a Bunny - it’s an English hop mate!
Haha. I guess hopping is hopping to me.
@@FlatlandFlow than say basic hop or something else because a bunny hop is something is diffrent
It’s still called a bunny hop, just an English one.
@@mattd2129 I agree!
Ur so underrated
Do this with a log on the uphill trail and with your tongue down to your knees... 😂
Respect, you even sacrificed your bike hurting support to give clear explanation
I have triple chainring so I just hop
What if you have a hardtail so you can't preload?
A demo using a hardtail MTB, I think, is in order.
I “believe” it’s all the same fundamentals. Granted I’m learning as well. You preload the same it’s just have that extra spring so you must try harder, faster, better.
As far as I know, it's called English Hop, not Bunny Hop. But no matter how you name it, the Trick is nice! :)
Or you could have just lifted one end of the log, put a board in, walked to the other side, lifted and put a board in there... and you only had to lift the log 1.5" rather than trying to roll it up 10".

WHAT I LEARNED IS THAT MAYBE A E MTB WOULDNT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT. I DONT KNOW THAT BIKE IS MORE NIMBLE PROBABLY WITH OUT A BATTERY IN IT.
Great informative video brother
nice
