Just came across your videos while searching for a solution to store my statues. I wanted to thank you so much for taking the time and thinking about cost. They look fantastic.
Thank you so so much for doing these tutorials! I just finished my build based on these and it made the journey so much easier. I opted for the 86" high racking and decided to trim it out in wood, it just looks so nice for an amazing price. :D
Thank you so much for taking the time to do these tutorials. I had been looking at Moducases and was so bummed about how expensive they are. I definitely am leaning toward taking on a smaller shelf build to start based on what you've done.
I had to let you know, I did a modified version of one of these cases for my TSUME Broly HQS. In case you didn’t know, he’s over 3 feet tall. I ended up buying a 72inch shelving unit and just followed your same steps, but instead of letting the plexiglass run to the bottom, I wrapped a curtain around below the plexi glass to make it look like it’s a glass box sitting on a table that had a curtain on it. I kept the back drop idea and I also used black poster board cut to fit to cover the wood ceiling inside the case. I’m obsessed with it and your inspiration gave me an extremely quality display for my favorite piece in my collection. Thanks for the awesome videos. Saved me a ton of money versus buying a custom made one.
Almost finished with my shelf build and wanted to thank you for the videos. I went with two 48”x72”x24” shelves with black laminated shelves. Needed the bigger size for my large PCS TF pieces. Used a lot of your tips and am very happy with how it’s turning out.
Dude you are a godsend. I’ve been wanting something like this for a while. I have this antique library table I was gonna fix up give it a dark color to go with my furniture, then figure out a way to build a display case on the top. But I needed something sturdy so if my cats jump on it they don’t break it and get hurt. This definitely gives me great options and ideas! Thanks!
Really appreciate the build tips. I’m starting on a couple 24”x48” shelf’s i got from Sams Club. I went with them for the larger size and black laminate shelves they come with. my question is do you think the lights you use are bright enough for the larger size I’m using?
Hello and thank you so much for these two videos! Just finished building one of my shelves (well almost finished). Sadly I cut my acrylic a wee bit too short but overall turned out pretty well. I actually used 1.26" round magnets to attach the acrylic though, rather than velcro. For now it works and was super easy (since I only had to put the magnets on the backside of the acrylic and nothing on the metal rack. We'll see how they hold out in the long run though and if I need to swap over to velcro later. I also ran RGB strip lighting along the back of the top front and on both front side rails rather than spot lights. One question I did have though, is did you do something to help "hide" the back rails of the rack? The front and outer sides are covered by the acrylic "frame" but when you look into the case the back rails of mine show, and well since those look like garage shelving rails with the holes all in it, it got me wondering because I can't really see it in your display. Wondering if it's because you used spot lights so it's better hidden or if you actually somehow hid the rails with your cloth or something. Thanks again, really appreciated these videos!
Stacy McB I used my back ground fabric to cover the rails and used the smallest black zip ties I could find to keep it in place. And yeah my spot lights make it nearly impossible to see. Let me know how the magnets work. The Velcro actually works as a hinge when opening. Like a cabinet door. But I’m curious about the magnets. I ended up changing my spot lights to magnets instead of Velcro. That’s the only change I made later after the vol 2 video. Hope to see your set up one day! Congrats on the build
@@Hiddendimension1 Ah ok, I just hung my cloth on the back, but maybe I'll try to put it more "inside" back so I can do as you suggest and use it to hide the rails. Will have to play around with it. I was gonna skimp out and just cover the sides with cloth, but changed my mind...I'll be buying another piece of acrylic. Yours look too good like that! So far, the magnets are holding strong too! I only used six initially (3 on each side), since that's all I had on hand, but I did buy more just haven't added them yet and the others seem to be holding steady. Will try to share a link or pics once I'm all done, but huge thanks for the great tutorial!! Very helpful for sure, especially since here in Louisiana we don't really have Ikea's - or a lot of stuff for that matter, but I'm sure you are well aware of all that! :D THANKS!!!
Loving this idea and it was an inspiration for my build. I purchased two sets of shelves but I ran into a problem with my 1:3 Guts from Prime 1 Studio where no matter what mix of my statues I won't be able to fit it in where a top shelf is allowed. This means I have to leave mines open on the top shelf and if I was to apply acrylic it would extend a bit past the frame as my other Berserk statues will be taller than the frame. A unique scenario but I'm trying to think of what I can do!
Nathan Pasha if you dm me on FB messenger me and my buddy who’ve built a lot of these can give some insight for sure. I’m also berserk collector so we could all benefit!
Great video, very helpful. Hopefully doing some shelves of my own this winter. I don't see any seams in the corners of the electrical tape . Are they there and just hard to see or were you able to do corners without cutting the tape?
Great update! I've watched your first installment awhile back cause I was looking to update out of my Detolf setup. I've spent a lot of time making them as clean as possible but at the end of the day the size will always be a factor. Question though; Are the individual shelves adjustable? I think for me, I would want to raise the lower shelf up higher so they aren't so close to the floor. And do they sell the shelves individually, say if I want 3 shelves instead of 2. Thanks! Nice to see another fellow collector share their tips and setup.
thanks for the videos! can i check how well the velcro sticks to the metal e.g. when you take down the acrylic sheet, does the velcro pull away from the metal? would also like to know if there was any issues with getting the acrylic to stick flush at where the shelf bolts stick out on the corner posts, was the velcro sufficiently thick to cover those bumps? thanks!
- Yam The Velcro holds to the metal just fine. When I pull the acrylic off I watch the edge and make sure it doesn’t come up when I pull the acrylic off. I just ran the Velcro over the chrome bolts that secure the shelf into the frame. It works perfectly fine.
Hey Michael, was inspired to do a DIY case after your first video. Any suggestions for risers for resins? My shelf has alot of extra space left due to depth and I was trying to squeeze in a statue if I could somehow elevate it. Basically a 1/4th Buu statue on a riser and 3 dioramas, covering his entire saga. Thanks!
talhamoazzam I literally was just thinking of this yesterday. I’m planning on building a wooden box. It’ll be 36” wide like the shelf and about 15” deep on the 18” deep shelf. I’m going to wrap it in more back fabric and have my 1/6 sit on it. I might see if I can make it not as deep so some resins can sit in front of the box and some on the box itself. Basically creating a riser on that particular shelf. Let me know if you come up with a better idea.
Hey brother, beautiful collection and set-up. Well, I decided that Im going to do what you and Adam did, however, I have a question for you. I noticed that you have wood flooring, which I also have, well these units have a kind of sharp legs, did you put anything under it so it won't piece the flooring? If so, what did you use? Thanks.
Michael Romero I actually have ceramic tile that looks like wood flooring. But the shelves come with small plastic feet that go on the Bolton of the shelf so it won’t damage any floor it sits on. Hope that helps.
So i just finished my set up a couple of days ago, i was wondering…do i need to worry about the lights messing up my resins over time after the spot light being on the statues over so much time? I bought the same ones you listed on here
Brother I already buy everything I need to make my display now let me ask you the black electrical tape did you put it outside the glass I mean the glass facing out and did you remove the glass paper cover to put the tape?
Johan Rodriguez yes the tape goes on the outside of the case. It’s covering the backside of the Velcro that can be seen through the glass. And yes remove the protective film and the add the tape. The tape is the latest thing you’ll do on the whole case. Hope that helps.
BogleArts yes this really help me, thank you again, I’m going to used velvet material for the shelf and I want to buy black plywood for the back, So let’s see the end🙏
Great video, I see this channel growing a lot. Do you think this case setup can get the vegeta vs goku by xceed? Mine is coming in this month hopefully but got nowhere to display it!
Mauricio Maldonado I too have this coming in and have been thinking the same. I saw a video of the first unboxing today. The base is way larger than I was expecting. Also there’s a large rock that leans in the back behind the base. So I’m thinking of pulling the case forward and off the wall more. Placing the base inside and letting the back of the base hang off the back. It’s just black fabric behind the case. I did that for bases a little to large for the shelf. Hope it works. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Man, Great video, i actually followed both videos religiously to build this and i've come across an issue where my figures are too large? i was curious if you ran into that problem and had any solutions maybe? P.s It's dope that you're a tattoo artist, i'm also a tattoo artist out in Iowa. Would love to check out your work if you got an instagram i can follow.
Yōkai Moose you can just readjust the shelves to be taller for larger figures. The glass or fabric shouldn’t be effected if you use different height for your shelf
It's amazing when you just use your creative mind and think about what you can accomplished
I was looking at the moducase but it’s so damn expensive. This looks just as good tbh, this is the way
Excellent actually

Nah
thanks!
What height did you go with and how tall are your ceilings? Trying to gauge. Thanks
60” tall - 8’ ceilings
Great video, a quick question, is it easy is you want to change the statues inside the case?
Very easy. The Velcro acts like a hinge and opens just like a cabinet door. It’s great.
What is the Walmart link for? It comes back as an error.
how heavy are those berserk statues on top?

Great collection bro! Btw, is that an akira piece you have below your flash statue?
Yes it is
Was curious if these cases were dust proof ?
Yes very good on cutting out dust.
How hard is it to open them again without shaking the shelfes and is the velcro fading out from opening them over and over again?
The shelves are incredibly sturdy. Nothing moves or shakes when opening the acrylic.
@@Hiddendimension1 what about the velcro? Is it already wearing out or is the grip still good?
@@oOJustBringItOo it’s just as good as day 1
How does it hold against dust

I wonder how it’s gonna work with 3 shelves for 1/6
