    Having a little sebum in pores and oily skin DOES NOT mean you have acne

    • @elioraimmanuel
      @elioraimmanuel 5 років тому +281

      Exactly! The sebum is meant for protecting and hydrating the skin. The overuse of garbage skin product is an issue here. They did not open their pores and removed all the oils instead of just the blackheads.

    • @Acidfunkish
      @Acidfunkish 5 років тому +256

      Sebum is not blackheads, even though they can look similar, sometimes.
      But no, there's nothing wrong with removing excess sebum. In fact, NOT doing so is what helps enlarge your pores, over time (though, this is mostly down to the genetic lottery). Just try to remember that having oily skin means that you'll have fewer aging signs, when you get older. 😊
      And having sebum does not mean you use "garbage" skincare, nor does it mean you're doing ANYTHING ELSE wrong. It means you have pores, which means you have skin. It means that you're human. Nothing else.

    What they're pulling out is sebum in their pores which is supposed to be there. Suctioning them out actually leaves the pores exposed to dirt and bacteria which will inevitably reseal and cause a breakout. You're also stretching out the pores permanently every time you pull the sebum out, making them larger and more noticeable. Unless you have blackheads (which they do not), there's no reason to do this.

    • @twice12212

      Oh wow.. but they have excess sebum in their face. They are oily biotches remember when they said that they’re oily biotches? @@twice12212 I get your point but I believe that the excess sebum is noticeable on the face when you have not washed your face for too long. The danger part is when the excess sebum gets clogged in the pores hence creating acne so if I suction the pores, I am opening them for the excess sebum to seep in which may or may not clog the pores

    Some of you are confusing blackheads with acne.
    Blackheads (open comedones) are not acne, they are caused by the sebum in the pores becoming oxidized and just about everyone has some. For some people the combination of over productive sebaceous glands (due to genetics, dehydration, overstripping your skin and compromising your barrier function) may clog the pores, then in combination with other factors can cause inflammation (inflammation is present when we see pus and redness, pus is not your sebum) which is when we see acne. But the blackheads themselves are NOT acne. There are many factors ranging from hormones, stress, bacteria, using the wrong products, allergens ect. that can cause acne.

Overusing this product will ultimately dry your skin out. Just perform a daily skincare routine and you'll see differences quickly if your cleaning and moisturizing your face. Use products that are recommend by dermatologists. Also avoid peel face masks, those don't get rid of blackheads either.

      Actually pores don't open or close. They are just holes in the skin and there are no muscles that can either open them or close them. However when steamed the face muscles relax and so does the skin which may appear as the pores are "opened" because they appear bigger and as well after washing with ice cold water or rubing with ice cube the facial muscles contract which tightens the skin a bit so the pores appear smaller but they actually aren't.

    I got oily skin and it got worse with the medications I'm on (for life) but the only thing I've figured out that works is the following:
    1) Honeydew witch hazel toner: use morning and before bed, use before shower
    2) Neutrogena transparent facial bar: use in the shower as a facial mask during normal routine, rinse away using cool water (warm water opens pores, cool water closes them), this completely dries out my skin
    3) Era Organics tea tree face cream: use after skin is dry from showing to moisturize
    This routine is the only one that I found that helps me personally without causing irritation, such as redness or burning. I don't wear cosmetics willingly which may help keep my pores cleaner. Everything above can be found on Amazon.
    Hope this may help for others.

      @@Jayr714 I use the Cetaphil "Daily Facial Cleanser" with a regular facial moisturizer, and then use the "Hero. Clear Collective" line on alternating days, and my skin has NEVER been as clear as it is now and I have had problem skin since teenager-hood as well. Of course I still get a pimple every now and then. I don't care who you are, or how clean you keep your face. You will have one every now and then. But the more you stay on top of your routine, the better it will be! I used to be HORRIBLE for only washing my face when I took a shower, not use any moisturizer afterwards, and using a really gritty scrub like the one St. Ives makes. Don't get me wrong it can be a lot of work, but I think I got away with the Hero. CC line for like $42 and it lasts me a couple months at a time because you don't need very much at all. I know it's been a year+ since these comments were posted but I hope I've helped someone somewhere!

    ACNE is caused by a lack of Vitamin A in the diet and from consumption of fats high in Omega 6 fatty acids. The best cure is to eat foods like beef liver and avoid plant oils (grassfed/finished animal fats are much higher in Omega 3 fatty acids). Palm oil is a major cause of cystic ACNE and is found in almost all processed foods.

      @@Charlie_Loves if your face is washed properly, then the stuff in your nose is normal, not dirt or dead skin cells. They're called sebaceous filaments and aren't blackheads. They're meant to be there, but lots of products have created the idea that they're dirty and gross. By removing them, you can damage your skin and even enlarge pores which could lead to more blackheads and pore clogging. Just wash your face and exfoliate here and there, and sure maybe take extra action with blackheads but the stuff coming out of their noses is likely not a problem

      @@melissataylor881 well if your blackheads are a serious problem, I'd recommend seeking professional help from a dermatologist. If you're just doing it at home, there are a number of different things to try: products with salicylic acid, clay or charcoal masks, both physical and chemical types of exfoliants (such as face brushes, scrubbers, enzyme exfoliation, etc), or retinoids. I don't have experience with all of them, but I personally have settled on using clay masks and a rubber scrubbing pad on my skin, and I find that works for me. Different products work for different people, so I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly what to do. Sorry for the long answer
