Amazing, the first straight skirting ever to work from, not a real world solution.
if you are doing a short section in between ceramic tile like a wood inlay over concrete slab, will this system work? and what do you do about expansion gaps if you do not want them to be seen in this case??? I want to have a flush transition from ceramic tile to solid hardwood section in the middle of the floor.
What happens when putting in the last parts of the wooden floor? Looks kinda messy?
can you remove and replace damaged pieces of flooring later?
idiots glued it upside down to the concrete in the house i just moved into, i had to grind it all off. Lots of the headers we're broken and the boards had cupped in a lot of places.
Can this be used with peel and stick vinyl flooring?
Just curious why not pull the base board and gap it from the actual wall and then put the base board back on?
You need to lay the flooring with an expansion gap. You can cover the gap with either the skirting board, or architrave. If you use the skirting board, you will need to remove all of them, lay the underlay and the flooring, then reinstall the skirting boards. Doing this adds additional work as the boards may need to be trimmed, pinned, and filled whilst avoiding damaging the wall and any damp proof course when replacing them. Using architrave is quicker because it is bonded to the skirting boards. Also, if any laminate or boards have to be replaced at the edges, the architrave is quicker to remove and replace.
Wheres ur knee pass?!?!!
Easier to pull 300mm ulay up the wall peel top back and trim excess away. Then you can do 3 rows a time
You have to be careful. Putting a whole row of floorboards could be done but you would need several people to help you as it is heavier than laminate. Moreover, not peeling off the backing until the floorboard in in place ensures it is bonded to the underlay in the right place, and the adhesive backing doesn't get dust on it, weakening the bond. If the floorboard isn't securely stuck down, the floor won't be rigid, and the floorboards will squeak as you walk on it.

InstaLay is what all the guys call my girlfriend. Do you think that's because they think she's a floor installer?
In the real world this is rubbish. The high tack makes it a bloody nightmare on the first row, as your bound to touch the board in the wrong place and then cant adjust to line up. I don't know how he managed to slide the wood around with the adhesive exposed on the corners
Not really, just peel back the corners, the peel bit hold the boards off the adhesive until you are ready to peel it fully back and press....good stuff
I had not seen much stupidity. do not spend your money on that.
