I feel you did a great review that was fair and balanced. I think if someone wants to break into any bed cover they will. So the test you did was real world and I probably would buy this cover.

what is the best roll up bed cover you guys have tested so far especially for security/anti theft?
BAK replaced my cover and I have had great success with the replacement. It is holding up and works great. I think there is no one perfect cover as I have had many brands on my different trucks I really support the BAK Revolver company in making a product they stand behind and something different thats works for me.

What I would like to see, is your drive around with that bumper on top of the bed cover to see if it actually can go through the bumps dips old is integrity up when you do the challenge again. So I challenge you to make a video doing just that thank you sir but I agree looks good in every other aspect except the breaking in the bedroom
Another idea for a test is the overnight snow test. I came out to 5 inches of powder on my Lund Genesis Elite and even though it held it-it was never the same. Stretched way out. Now, I know when it’s going to snow, roll it up.
I ride dirt bikes a LOT even opened a store this year. I have a basic Truxedo Pro15 cover (it was free from sponsorship) but rolling it up in the winter with ice or snow on it is a PAIN. I'd like to know how this one does with snow, plus the one question no one does is a LONG TERM review...in 5-6 years how will the fabric of held up. I can say the X15 is at it's end of it's LIFE. You say roll the cover up before it snows but then you have snow in the bed...LOL That seems like a horrible option I want to keep the snow out. It's why I keep coming back to the UNDERCOVER ARMORFLEX so not to deal with the roll up in winter which I think is very hard on the fabric not to mention hard to roll and I wonder how hard with metal support is it going to be. *sigh* sadly no cover is perfect. I'd get the DiamondBack if I didn't need to load dirt bikes, most solid cover and the price doesn't bother me.
Have you test on gator or rough country reviews on bed cover for both soft or hard? I’m not sure which one is good one for my 2022 Toyota Tacoma.

wondering how it’ll do in the snow, melt and freezing temps where melted water would freeze. Can the top still rollup?
The robber repellent test should have been at least a 2 because the same crowbar vs the truck window will be less time/effort. Therefore the test should be is the cover security greater or lesser than the truck cab
Yea the cab is where the gun is. But of all the guns I know of that have stolen the owner helped by forgetting to lock the doors. Around here there are groups of kids walking the streets every night. If you aren't in law enforcement* you may never have guessed that these kids are walking the same "beat" every night checking door locks. Law of probability.
And for the sake of argument if he used the short end of crowbar the cover would have failed instantly. And for that matter it would probably fail a real hail test as those nuts and bolts were falling at no where near their terminal velocity which hail does and even faster depending on the wind direction/speed.
*I'm not a cop but for years of hanging around them, being a FF, you learn some weird stuff about your city.
Try some test under -40 to - 50C. and snow infiltration by blizzard

I just bought one and installed it today. Was disappointed to see how fairly easy it was to break into. Now thieves will know how to do it, but they probably figured it out anyway.

sure you can't get a hand in there, but just that little bit you could pry it, you can slip a long screw driver in and pop the pull cord

He was using a crowbar. I can break into any truck with a crowbar that includes the cab where you might store some valuables. If anyone buys a tonneau cover for security, they are just fooling themselves. Nothing is secure much of anywhere against a crowbar.
The roll and lock is the only one that locks into the tray door. So you won't be able to even get a lip up
Should have tested for high winds. Mine failed to the point it was unusable. This was my second one due to getting a different truck. Now looking for a different more secure cover

@@michalp2362 yes it was locked down and I had it adjusted and had just put a new rail on one side due to a defect with the first rail.
I had a different brand bedcover fail from a freak downburst (70+mph winds). That storm snapped the aluminum frame like a twig. Unless you’re willing and able to spend three times what the Bak cost (and get one of those folding hard ones that can hold an ATV), none of these semi-soft covers can withstand extreme winds it seems.
Nothing is perfect.....hell solid windows don't stop people from breaking into cars....it is what it is....Nothing more, nothing less.....
Please add one more test to your suite, The latter test where you stand on the cover.
And see if it holds a two hundred thirty pound man without without buckling

It's all your preference. They both have different unique qualities. The MX4 hard fold is easy & quick to remove if you need the whole truck bed, but your view is obstructed when the cover is folded all the way up. The X4S rolling cover is not as easy to removed, but you can see out the back window when the cover is fully opened.
Can you guys test the Undercover Armor Flex?
We'll see about that one for our next stress test. I bet it would hold strong for the hail test with it having that LINE-X®textured finish.
I am now on a replacement cover that BAK replaced. I live in Florida and the heat shrank my cover from the sides leaving a gap on each side to make it worse the top cover also came unglued from the back fold and the plastic slats in between the metal folding cross bars. Not confident it won't happen again. I hear you about the cold but the heat is worse for this material. Sticky glue underneath.

Was it the x4s? All I keep hearing is they improved on the design of the older x2 or x4
Same thing happened to my X4S. The Florida sun and moisture shrank the matte material and curled it up the whole length of one side. I’m sure they’ll replace it but I may go back to a regular vinyl soft top that last for years with no issues. This fancy X4S didn’t last 8 months in the Florida heat.
Has "Earl Owen Company " Ever tested the BAK F1 that's their top-of-the-line cover. yet??

not thrilled with how easy it was to break into. have you reviewed any bed covers that would work with a tent rack over them and still allow the bed cover to open, but not be easy to break into?
We have other reviews on our channel of other bed covers, most should work with a rack. It will just come down to finding the one that meets your needs.
What size did you get for your Silverado
This truck has a short bed so bed cover is 5 feet 8 inches, or 5'8". The size bed cover you get all depends on the size of your truck bed. For Silverado they have short beds, standard beds, and long beds.
Whats better the mx4 or this revolver?
It's all preference. One is a folding cover and one is a rolling cover. They both have different qualities that make them unique.
Out of sight, out of mind...if they do not know you have anything back there and can not easily look in then they probably ain't going to try to get in. They probably also will try to cut the top with a razor blade first. I typically have NOTHING in the bed under a cover so breaking in for no reward is risky for no possible gain. I have had luggage and even my daughters small motorcycle on its side under my fabric cover, no one has ever tried to get in on all the trips.

Definitely not on the road or highway because there is nowhere to secure the load.
Nuts and Bolts at 20' doesn't replicate a Hail Storm, I understand that's the best you could do.

Hi CJ, We've had our Revolver X4S installed on our truck for over 2 months now with no issue. If your X4S has fallen apart in that short amount of time be sure to take advantage of BAK's 5 year warranty!

The X4S is an updated version of their older one that's supposed to have better adhesive.
If you want test it . Let it sit in Ca. Sun
Naugahyde or vinyl will shrink and curl up everywhere. Looks like hell on 2 yr old truck .

I think these tests are stupid. Did he read what this cover can do? It is not water tight.. Throwing nuts, bolts and washers makes no sense. It's not the same as hail. Over all this was a waste of time to watch this video .
We're testing this cover against other covers on the market to see how they compare, and try to mimic real life scenarios the best we can.
