Thank you for posting this I was having trouble finding where it is located on the van. Most everything online is about the truck and all the videos are titled ford 6.0 powerstroke with no mention of e or f. For reference this spot can be accessed by pulling the center console and the gpcm sits right next to where the engine and transmission connect on the top drivers side.

That's cool you got a van with a power stroke also there's not many of them out there.

It's a RV converted school bus belonging to my brother. Becoming a common trend these days with the outrageous rv resale prices.
The guy who did the conversion was a bone head and he left a lot of issues un-repaired including the starter due to a wire that was shorting up against a sharp corner of the body (ran a hot lead to the battery), alternator due to a cable that were burnt up against the exhaust (ran a jumper cable from the rv batteries out the window and down to the starter batteries) , non functioning brake lights due to a missing post brake switch fuse, a busted gpcm, and an injector stiction issue.
And these are the issues we have found to this point who knows what else this genius did.

@@Suohhen hey did you know that if you can put a 6.7 l powerstroke starter in a 6 l it will turn over faster that definitely helps start the diesel in the winter. There's a video I watched on how to do it One of the bolt holes has to be opened up to accommodate the larger bolt for the 6 l

@@Suohhen I think mine is going to need a new clutch fan. It's been getting hot a few days here and there and the temperatures are going up above 230°

The glow plugs where changed and the wire harness's in a 2003 Ford F-250 6.0 and the codes are still there I think the old wiring and bad glow plugs fried the GPCM.

On the good glow plug wire which was the red wire and it showed 10.5 volts realize the battery voltage was discharged that's why there was low voltage.

Does anyone know what the red wire with the rubber cap bolted in front of the GPCM is and where it is supposed to lead to? I am getting an error code for all glow plugs (p0671-8) after switching a 6.0 starter with a new 6.4 starter. Currently just get a continuous crank and no start. I’m working on a 6.0L E350 also.

That sounds like it could be the glow plug module.

2006 E350 6.0 diesel here. So i'm having an issue only on a cold start where the truck cranks for more than 5 seconds, sometimes closer to 7-10 seconds to start. But if i run the truck to the store & get ready to leave the store it'll start right up bc the truck is warm. Would that be the glow plugs? Also only on the cold start the battery meter only comes up to the middle of the battery, but then after the truck is warmed up going a couple of miles to the store and I get back in the truck to start it the meter goes above the battery symbol like it should. Also, my truck was basically stone dead one morning, so I kinda have a feeling it might be the alternator not charging the battery properly? I'm installing 2 new batteries tuesday bc they are 7 years old anyways, but I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of just changing parts hahaha. It's either the alternator, glow plugs or glow plug module from what i'm seeing, I think haha. very frustrated! =) Any ideas?

That could def be glow plugs. I've had the same issue in the past and replaced my glow plugs and it fixed it
