Even after his passing, he is still helping me along the way. Thank you Ron and your family for everything that you have done for all of us. To Ron's family, thank you for keeping his legacy alive.
Dang, I’m new to the platform and didn’t know he passed. How sad, he looks young. So sad
This guy Ron is a blessing, i haven't watched a video in years from him, but today, my 07 cranked for quite a while before firing. I needed a refresher course of my fuel system to help figure it out. If the family still reads these, i want to say thank you for keeping them up. I appreciate it
Please never take his videos down. They help me as they help thousands of other people in youtube. Ask for whatever we will help you.
I've been watching diesel tech Ron for a long time. Being service tech myself and a 6.0 owner, he always seems to get me out of a jam. Thanks again , we all miss you! I want to say thanks to his family for leaving these up for us to still watch.
Ron I am amazed with the lengths you go to to help us powertroke owners. Thank You. mostly for free too. RIP.

Sorry for the families loss.. Ron has helped me with so many issues on my 6.0.. Thank you so very much!!
Gone too soon.... I'm learning so much from him, as I'm a new owner of an 05. Man, I just can't wrap my head around the fact that he left a beautiful family. RIP Sir....
A very very selfless, knowledgeable, teacher able to explain where any one can grasp the concept, to know something is one thing to get another person to see it is true talent of a true teacher, be hard fill them shoes no doubt, glad I got to see him, thanks to the family,I know you all know how special I was,rip
@@johnarnold1259 I know a friend that had his truck worked by him. My friend balled his eyes out when he found out the bad news. I agree that no one is like him in that he was so full of knowledge that his words just flowed out of his mouth. I learned a lot from him, I think of him every time I drive past his Ford dealership in palm desert.
I miss this guy. I have some questions to ask but sadly I’d never get a response from Ron 😪 he sure has saved people thousand of dollars.
Rest on peace Ron, still helping us, Thank to this this gentleman and his Family, greetings from Mexico.
Someday, i will go have a beer with this man. may it be at his grave site or not. Ron, you were a master! and a teacher. if there ever was a diesel god or diesel gods, may you reside with them in that place forever. thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us diesel grunts. your impact on our lives will not end with your loss. thank you sir! from the bottom of my heart.
what an awesome guy, wish he was still around.
This guy was so nice to take all this time to educate people. Sorry for his family loss. But like myself, they probably come back here all the time and watch his videos.
Sorry to hear of his passing.
Mr. Ron you can never be thanked enough I'm still finding your straight forward approach helping the non gear heads like me. I just have to assume the Almighty needed a great diesel guy in the heavens. RIP, Mr. Diesel Tech Ron!
Everything diesel Ron has shown in his videos has been real helpful thanks
Thank you so much for leaving his videos up😎
Ron was and still is ( even after his passing )his passing sad so very heartbreakingly sad .He was one of the most helpful souls for the owners/ tech people working on vehicles that ever had the opportunity to be helped by his so superior knowledge.
God how he is missed but will never be forgotten His legacy lives on with all the information on video and voice that he so freely gave and still does today .
My Deepest Condolences to the family, friends and all the pubic that may have listened or watched him on videos .We lost a true Super Hero . R.I.P.
I would love to have his knowledge on the 6.0. His videos are always the best. He will be missed by a lot of people.
You make diesel engine diagnostics look simple and lo and behold, common sense!
The amount of knowledge I have learned from Ron on the 6.0 is in sane. I was scared to take the turbo off and now I'll snatch the heads off if I need to. He makes it doable RIP RON!!!
Every time he helps me get through an issue with my 6.0 I get so bummed out because at some point I'm going to need help with something and if there isn't a DTR video, there never will be one.
He has helped many times before and will continue to help me through these videos. Y heart aches for his family and I hope they know how respected he was in this community
Ron...You are THE MAN!!! Your videos about the scan guage II and the IPR just saved me hundreds of dollars and a tow to the dealer. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH! Keep up the great work.
I've been watching your videos for years and you've helped fix a lot of problems on my own with my '05 f250 6.0. My problem now after two years of Zero problems including many thousand mile road trips I've noticed now that when getting into the pedal at about 2500-3k rpm it sounds like it's not getting fuel and sound strained. Any help would be great. Guessing FICM which is stock.
Upgrades arp head studs, new head gaskets, cat/muff delete, K&N intake, 6.4 banjo bolt, mbrp 4" straight pipe 6"outlet, egr deleted, blue spring , coolant filtration. just telling what's on truck if anyone has a good guess let me know. Sluggish at high rpm. Normal driving no problem. But I've put $ in this truck and it's fun to get on it without something breaking finally
Hey Ron thought you were still around, but after reading lots of awesome comments about you I came across one that broke my heart, adios amigo BUT wait you are still around helping us as if you were still here Love you
Thank You Ron! I know you have passed on but your selfless work lives on and has helped me many times. I would have liked to have know you personally and my heart goes out to you and your family. God Bless
I just found out the bad news,Ron where ever you are thank you for everything through out the years.R.I.P.
That is a video that explains the diagnostics so completely with great detail. That is a watch more than once video. You are a great teacher. Thanks for your help.

wow I just heard the saddest news of of the best diesel tech to ever live is gone . Best wishes to his family
I am new to diesel, a mechanic, but never on diesel. His sites have been a great learning curve. So sad he is gone, a great loss, not only to his family but to any mechanic. Who can replace him, or rather, who will continue....Regrets to his family and friends... Dave.
R.I.P. Ron. By far the best 6.0 tech
Ron you are a legend. Rest in peace knowing the knowledge you shared is helpful even now.
I would like to say that i was recently working on a 2003 F450 6.0 powerstroke. I took the engine out redid Almost all the seals and gasket put it back and it wont start. I looked online for help because i was Sure i had put back everyting and every connector back properly. I have 15 years experience working on cars/ trucks so i was certain it wasnt something mechanical.. i had to look online for help and i came across Your channel.. You taught and improved my diesel knowledge soo much .. teaching me and all of us about IPRs and ICPs.. the next day ..which was yesterday.. i went to work with a confidant attitude and checked it narrowed it down and got it RUNNING.. Sir you have saved me... Your kindness still touches us RON R.I.P.
RIP ron! I highly respect you,and I'll give you a hug in heaven for all the help, and support for diesel owners, that I'm sure you didn't get compensation for.
Helped me immensely with all my 6.0 issues. Walked me through step by step and explained what tools to use to ease the work. Always my first reference. Was really shocked when I found out about his passing some time ago.
Best ford diesel mechanic on you tube. I have used his help alot. I wish he was alive to help everyone with 6.7L issues. Rest in peace buddy.
Ron has a gift for teaching, great explanations
I started watching his videos and I been following Rod for a while but just yesterday I discovered that he passed away. May God have him in a really special place and protect his family, his legacy will still be alive helping other younger techs like me in the future
Yes guys I miss him a lot I used to watched his tutorials every time I had a problem with my Power Stroke. I miss you. May God have you in his Glory
These are unbelievably great videos. There is so much information here, along with practical troubleshooting advice. I love his humble delivery. What a gift he was. Sometimes I wish I could call him!
Sleep well brother ... may God ontinue His watch over your family
Would love to see you go through this with a 7.3L as well. Some of the best info. Learned things I didn't know.
Thank you so much for posting these videos Ron. They help so much and they are truly appreciated!
I watched several videos on 6.0 high pressure oil leaks, this one is by far the most educational.
This was a very detailed intro to a pressure system. Thank you! Please keep providing these amazing videos,
You are so smart man. The way that you explain it makes it so a layman like myself can understand. I really like the tricks to eliminate the PCM or FICM. Genius, just pure Genius.
You are a great guy, your info has helped me diagnose my 6.0 a few times and also allowed me to replace my own alternator & ficm!
Ron thank you. You do the power stroke world favors with every video. You are very informative and knowledgable. You assisted me on updating my 6.0.
Ron,
I have a 2005 6.0 that I'm racking my brain on. I bought the truck with a blown EGR cooler (misdiagnosed by a "shop" as HG), and got all that done thanks to your videos. Now, it won't run for more than 15 minutes, and will not restart until at least overnight. The FICM is good, and I've changed the IPR screen (it wasn't very dirty at all, but changed it just to be sure, with no change in condition). The ICP is good (800+ when attempting to start), even when it won't restart. I can command the IPR to a higher percentage, which results in the ICP increasing, but it still won't restart. Fuel pressure is constantly near 60 psi, even when it won't restart. Fuel bowl quickly refills after being drained. I feel confident that it's not a HPOP system issue due. The oil is fresh. Motorcraft oil & fuel filters. FICM sync & CKP/CMP sync both show good on the scanner. I have recorded all the data points the past few times I've started it, up till the moment it dies, if you want any more info.
Thank you for any help you can give!!
If there's any diesels in heaven I bet they run perfectly!
Thank you again, Ron, wherever you are your videos still helping people like me, thank you
Wonderful and well thought out. Thanks for empowering the masses in the Ford community.

Really good video, I have never worked on a diesel engine before & now a 2006 F350 6.0 that was given to me because it was a crank no start I found that the IPR was clogged with a piece of mesh & plastic. Thank you, continue making great videos.
RIP DT Ron, I'm new to Diesels and you Vids have been invaluable.
I guess your gone, but I’m subscribed I’ll recommend this channel to anyone. Thank you for this video, you are saving my butt.

The guy is a genius and so very skilled on powerstroke engines!! Probably on many other things as well !! Thank You!
Very helpful video, I recently got an 05 F250 and Ron's videos have been very helpful. RIP
I think diesel tech Ron is one of the best mechanics I've ever listened to and in this situation the voltage probably couldn't be fake but I've had circuits that show 12 volts or whatever voltage you're asking for but when you put a load on it, it disappears
gad blessed with a room at haven to sr Ron
Ill see you Ron at the pearly gates and you will teach me everything I did not know about diesel here on earth. R.I.P Ron
Great Job explaining in detail! Bravo!
just wanted to say thank you your videos have been extremely helpful

Wow! Thankz for sharing your knowledge. Great video, helped me a ton!
2 worlds .Good job! i am a younger technician. and have leaned a lot on powerstrokes weak points and system. i think with the proper tools its pretty straight forward to diagnose and work on.. Thank you again
Still helping his community with great videos
Hi,Ron, your videos have been very beneficial. I have a specific issue that I don't think you have covered yet. I took your advise and purchased the scangauge II which is a great tool. Has helped a lot. But even with this, I've had this in the dealership tiwice and they have not been able to resolve the problem.
My scenario is a is a hot no start. Anything over 165 degrees oil teemp, it will not start. When watching icp, during crank no start, the psi will hang between 15-25 PSI, and get no higher. As soon as the oil cools off, the vehicles starts and runs great. I have never seen a pressure register between 35-500 PSI. So I don't think I have a dummy plug, or leak anywhere and the dealership could not find any oil leaks. Their next step is to replace the pump, but that is expensive, and I'm just not convinced.
I've watched the high pressure going down the road, and it is pumping great, very high pressure and low demand needed. It always starts cool, and has never died on me going down the road. It just does not sound like a pump issue.
Oh, one more important piece of info. It also "always" starts hot if I try and restart it within a few seconds it will always restart, only if I let it sit a few minutes, only then will it NOT start while hot until it cools way down.
Could it be starving for oil for some reason? Could the oil be draining back out while hot, but as long as I start immediately it's not a problem. What keeps oil up by the pump? Does low pressure pump serve the high pressure pump? Any helpful hints would be appreciated.
Best video for powerstrokes period.
yes, going through some of this with a 7.3 would be nice too. but this is a great video going over the 6.0
He is an a amazing tech. It is great that he has taken the time to share his knowledge and experience. He would have been great to work with. I hope to spin wrenches with him in heaven.
Thanks Ron! We missed you.
You can build your own ipr valve air test tool for 35 bucks. 10 for the fitting, 15 for a short hose, and 7 for the valve. You'll need one female air adapter to hook up your air but you can buy a air hose that comes with them you can pull them off. Crazy these companies want 140 bucks and up for theirs.
Another great video! Thank you Ron.
thank you very much diesel tech ron
Heard nothing but good things about this guy so I subscribed even though I don’t even own a Powerstroke.
Damn I miss this guy. He was a simple guy but a real hero with how many times he has helped so many people including myself. He lives on in these videos. Thank you Ron. I miss ya buddy.
