wait a second, not one comment telling him to listen to the piano reprise of doomsday??? You will fall in love with that one!
I second this. Piano Doomsday!
Yes yes yes yes yes
I didn't even know there was a piano version of doomsday! But I saw Royal Beggars and thought why isn't it doomsday though?
@@derekpitari4290 it's crazy you listen the regular doomsday feel all that emotion, and then they put out the piano reprise and it still carries just as much emotion
YEEESSS!!!!!
Architects is a true powerhouse.
Doomsday and a wasted hymn are also great songs
Gone with the wind is just painfull, once you listened to the lyrics as well.. It still hits hard as well :D
I think there isn't one single song from them that I don't like, they are all great in there own ways. And they are really nice people too !
I 2nd Doomsday
These Colours Don't Run, Numbers Count for Nothing, Broken Cross, Gravedigger, Colony Collapse, Memento Mori, Behind the Throne, Black Blood, Even If you Win You're still a rat, to name a few favorites.
Wasted Hymn and Dying to Heal are my two favorites from that album
„A band is only as good as the drummer.“
Metallica left the chat.
Lolol
Best comment so far in 2021 XD
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
And still, they conquered the world. So not sure what you're trying to say here buddy. Lars may not be the best drummer in the world, but he still is a good drummer, anyone who says he isn't is just jealous of him.
This band gives me chills no matter how often I listen to them. Their story, especially in recent years, is one of both tragedy and strength. The band was founded by twin brothers Dan (drums) and Tom (guitar) and in 2016 Tom passed away from cancer. He was their primary song writer (including lyrics) and their album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us is about him coming to terms with the fact that he was going to die very soon. After he passed, his brother took over the songwriting duties and the album this song is from "Holy Hell" is, in my opinion, the best album about facing loss and dealing with grief that exists. I've yet to find another heavy band that portrays emotion and pain the way they do and it's so cathartic.
Huge facts
Word man! The only band that comes to my mind regarding the expression of emotions and pain even if it is not the same genre, is Linkin Park in my humble opinion. You very correctly pointed out "Another HEAVY Band" That's right!
He should make a piano cover of every metal song he reacts too. That piano attempt was beautiful man
I think I’m gonna do that, record an album of solo piano covers of these songs.
@@MusicShed yes yes YES!!
@@MusicShed Architects do have a piano reprise of their song Doomsday
Late reply, but hearing you on the keys for this song screams the need for a cover. You will do it justice and welcome fans of this incredible band.
"Animals" and "Black Lungs" by Architects are new singles that you absolutely have to check out!
Yeah !!!
Dead butterflies
Late February!
Dead Butterflies would be great too!
Animals was way better than Black Lungs.
As a drummer, I’ve never been more inspired by “I am an asshole”. Lmao
His name is Sam Carter, & he’s from my hometown. He remains flawless at every show. He has no idea how he does the transitions between clean & screamed vocals.. I’ve actually asked him on a million occasions aha
Sold his soul at a crossroads
Dan, the drummer, and his brother Tom founded this band. Tom died a few years back from cancer so they lost their lead guitarist and song writer, Dan took over as the writer for this album and dedicated it to him. Please react to “Gravity” by them it’s fantastic.
Memento Mori is a must, especially the fan lyric tribute. It really details Tom's outlook on his life as he was passing.
@@sarcasm4371 I completely agree, only reason I suggested gravity over other All Our Gods songs is in my opinion the music video is the best of them. The music video quality on HH was much better
@@zac2461 Well to be fair I would never really suggest a music video for an Architects song unless it's one of their live performances. Lyric videos are always more enjoyable with such a talented lyric writer such as Tom.
@@sarcasm4371 Whoa god damn memento fucks me up really good, this song just always hits
Yes for sure or gone with the wind at reading 2017 it explains it all
The heart "tear" is for their late guitarist Tom, also the drummers brother.
“They need to put a coat on they might catch a cold” is the most dad thing I’ve heard!
Fab react! Love your channel!
You found the entire Architects sound with your piano in like 30 secs.. Fantastic, this is education.
It's crazy how well you can pick up a song so easily, digest it, and pretty much play it by ear. You truly are a very talented individual. Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite bands.
GONE. WITH. THE. WIND
I think you'd love Gone With The Wind and A Match Made In Heaven, both by Architects, the former has super heavy lyrics and was written by Tom Searle, while the latter really shows Sam Carter's vocal range
While you're down the British metalcore road, check out While She Sleeps - Silence Speaks (feat. Oli Sykes) or Anti-Social.
Love Architects, have seen them live a couple of times and his vocal on this song is amazing live too. He also uses his characteristic "BLEGH" noise near the end of this one. He didn't "invent" it but since they got big it's become more common to hear that vocalisation in metalcore.
What's not that common and the reason I usually recognise his vocals immediately, is the tonal screams (rather than playing with the vowel sounds to change the pitch). I was watching Matt Heafy do a live acoustic cover of this song on Twitch and he commented that this was a kind of scream that he can't do at all.
Finally. I was hoping for Gone With The Wind but this will do
Also Movements is another great band to check out
Movements is a must
Yasssss we need him to react to skin to skin
@@BlueRoseShilloh i would've said Full Circle, The Grey or Moonlight Lights
@@BlueRoseShilloh probably the best one to react to, as it is their most popular one, is daylily
Royal Beggars is hand down my favorite Architects song. Gone with the Wind is also amazing.
The live performance of this song tugs on your heartstrings. After reading what the song's about, check out the live performance! I got emotional listening to it.
Hereafter by the same band, my fave song! pls, react to it.
I love when you riff around in the key of the song, like in the midpoint of the video! I've been a percussionist for twenty years now, but still marvel at people who can just play with scale and notation like I do with rhythm
Melissa Cross teaches this technique. She worked with many metal vocalists, even with Randy from Lamb of God. I am still amazed at your ability to play a song after you've just heard it!!! Wow!🖤
I just commented the same thing, Melissa really is a legend!
No matter who starts making these videos. The commenters always point them towards metal lol I love it.
with Architects it's always good to have the lyrics on hand because they always have something to say no matter if it's political or societal or just their own feelings. I think you would really love the piano reprise of their song Doomsday.
I think Architects have become the most important bands in the modern metalcore scene, it's mad how after Doomsday came out a whole subgenre of metalcore came from that one riff. It's insane. Sam's one of the best vocalists around. I thought they would break up after Tom's passing or maybe holy hell, but the way that they've moved forward and continued his legacy is honestly so inspiring. Nothing but love for these guys.
My favorites are by far Royal Beggars and Hereafter. Gives me goosebumps more or less every time. Masterpieces.
Black Lungs by Architects is definitely one to check out
I think their older stuff is more more interesting and unique but to each their own
I got to recommend paralyzes by imminence. Their singer does harsh vocals cleans as well as plays violin in amazing harmony. Insane talent
Ooooooh Hell YEAH! Generally, Imminence with their usage of strings is so interesting... But id recommend The Sickness, but just because its my favorite xP
IMMINENCE
You finally listened to Architects, and this was a GREAT video 😍
As next songs I recommend Doomsday and Black Lungs
I love these reactions. I love how you immediately can play the melody, too. So impressive.
Check out Sylosis. The guitar player for Archtects other band.
Man, listening to you play the piano along with the scale they were in was so nice.
I LOVE THAT YOU FINALLY GOT AROUND TO ARCHITECTS!
I think you’d really appreciate Doomsday. Their guitarist Tom, who passed away a few years ago began writing the song and never finished it. So the band completed the song for him and released it on the anniversary of his passing.
They also have a version of the song done on piano. You’d love it!
5:38 we need a full version of that! Holy crap how beautiful 😍
David, i have to say that this channel is like christmas to me. ( the next song should be a live performance from them)
i love how he always be playing that piano
You should definitely do "Gone with the Wind" or "Doomsday"
The band had a very unfortunate occurrence with their guitar player Tom Searle dying of cancer. They wrote multiple songs about it and all are gut wrenching imo. RIP Tom Searle. I can't imagine how much this impacted the band and his brother Dan.
The saddest part of Gone with the Wind is that Tom wrote it before his death
@@lukemadden4434 Tom wrote all of their songs before his death besides the few love songs on Hollow Crown. Memento Mori is definitely the song that will bring you to tears.
I love Architects, they are full of emotions and I always get goosebumps listening to them. But you should listen to Slipknot if you like drums so much!
The melody on piano ends up sounding like a hollow knight track, which makes this song sound even better to me
Should have watched the live version. It’s impressive.
Dude.. when you hit the music right off the bat on the piano... it blew my mind.
bmth has a keyboardist and it's amazing🤯🤯
Watch the live video for this to truly see how good a vocalist he is
React to Make Them Suffer - Erase me.
They are absolutely FENOMENAL live. I've seen them two times so far and a 100 times wouldn't be enough
Architect- gone with the wind!!!!
Your keyboard playing is beautiful and proves that you truly just love and appreciate music in all its forms. I highly recommend you do more Architects from this album and their new singles!
i remember going to see them at ally pally in london after tom had passed away, i'm not sure what happened but everyone, the band and crowd started crying and embracinng everyone around them. a truly beautiful, unforgetable moment. i love this band more then i can express with words
"Gone with the wind" is a must listen
Been a huge Architects fan for a while now and every time I hear a song off of All Our Gods and Holy Hell, that wave of emotion from the band just hits like a ton of bricks.
No one captures that emotion the same way they do, unfortunately they had to go through hell and back to understand it.
Gone With The Wind is a must listen in the story of Architects, Doomsday as well being one of their most popular tracks.
However, I’ve got to say Memento Mori is an absolute masterpiece of a song. One of my favourite songs of all time, it just hits so hard.
Have fun exploring more Architects, you’ll love them!
For all the textures, Aviations // Outliers
RIP Tom. I was never more heartbroken over a musicians death.
I bloody love Architects. My first tattoo was just "Memento Mori" on my wrist after their song and it's the swan song of Tom Searle. Gone With The Wind is a big powerhouse of theirs, it's such an emotional song once you find out the lyrics and what went into them. Truly love Architects and their music has done so much for me, they're my Linkin Park of Metalcore.
You should check the following:
- Thornill - Where do we go when we die?
- Orbit Culture - Open Eye
- AVOID! - Flashbang
- DarkoUS - Donna
Also, love the channel, much much love from Argentina.
thornhill definitely
As a diehard Metal Fan, this is one rabbit hole you should dive deep into head first!!! Great reaction!
Techniques of shouts are Fry scream and growl. Difference is open/closed vocal chords
Let's just take a minute to appreciate that lydian piano riffing midway. Gorgeous.
I would 10000000% listen to you play the whole song on piano
Please please please do!
2:00 that pop-up image of Searle brothers immediately brought tears tomy eyes.
Bring me the horizon have a song with Architects called "this sadness will never end" it's one of their older songs. You should check it out:) I recommend checking out the lyric vid since the music vid is a shorter version of it
Architects is just one of those special bands that you are definitely pleased that they're in your life! Another band you will most definitely like is Aviations and their song Outliers. I believe you'll fall in love with this incredible song
As a person who's been doing vocal fry / false cord for over 10 years now, It just takes a lot of practice to get the tone and stamina to do it. I practice doing these type of vocals for 2-3 hours a day straight, of course taking a break in between, but you learn how to do it efficiently while going back to a softer tone (clean vocals) in between harsher ones. It's the same type of practice in learning vibrato or head voice, you can't just learn how to do it overnight, but each day you start learning little tricks on how to get to that sound you're trying to achieve.
Amazing
‘A band is only as good as it’s drummer. Period.’
David spittin FACTS! 🙏🥁💯
your videos are so full of joy, thankfulness, witty humor, talent, great music,.. more people need to see you!
new fan to this channel, you showed their soul in this video
Best channel I have come across for a long time! 👌
I love watching you go deep into the music of the song!
Doomsday ... and .... A Match Made in Heaven by Architects are both amazing songs! Do it! Please!
Please more of Architects!!!
This man makes music theory interesting.
You are killing me! In a great way. We are in the same generation. So I love that the statement is not "Thay dont make mucik like dey use to." I love progress. Architects is progress! Then you lock in on the keys. Ripping modes. Blowing my mind! I look forward to every episode. Thank you.
MAN FINALLY U CHECK ARCHITECTS! YOU'RE A LEGEND
Love this song.
Awesome! So glad to see this in my suggestions this morning. Thanks David!!!
Edit: Love listening to you break these songs down on the piano. Much respect! Can't wait to see you dive into their music a little further.
Thank You!
I swear I could watch you improv song melodies on piano for hours on end. Definitely one of my favorite parts of your videos :)
This is a great idea for a reaction channel - I love watching people react to metal songs that I love but I actually learned something about music watching this one. Subbed!
Haha wasn't expecting 8:43! Another great video David, I love your approach compared to other reaction channels, very refreshing and the knowledge that you share is great.
And as always your playing hits right there - - - - - - - - - - - - - >💓
Sam is a beast of a vocalist.
Sam is utterly Goated! So many gems by Architects. I consider them a national treasure (as a Brit =] )
One of my favourite songs of them! Easiest click of my life 👌🏻
I'm surprised that you don't have more subscribers. These reactions are more than just that, you do an amazing analysis on everything with the songs you react to. Keep at it man, I thoroughly enjoy your videos.
Architects is just awesome
I know this song so well... it's very interesting to see someone's first time reaction
Thanks for bigging up us who have drums as or primary intrument ;D
I've seen these guys live in Milan. They're so so soooooo good live. It was just a perfect show.
I really like the way you instantly put the stuff onto your keyboard and tried something out. I got educated and I liked it
This is my first video of yours. I gotta say you seem like such a cool, chill dude. You earned a subscriber
Love your reactions and breakdowns off the songs would be sick to see you do polaris lucid 🤘
Another great reaction! It'd be cool to see you react to the live version of this (at the Royal Albert Hall) too, really shows how well he can transition between the cleans and the screams
You piano interpretation of the verse was gorgeous!
Favorite react channle by far. Great choice of music and I highly appreciate those parts like 5:38. Just great to see what such a melody is made up of, especially with the little impros in between. Really impressive!
I could listen to David riff on piano for hours. He really knows his stuff!
This song never fails to make me cry
Do more Architects, they are fantastic and range such a variety of genres, the vocalist Sam and drummer Dan are just fantastic. Tom too, if you decide to listen to their older stuff (from All Our Gods and back), rest in piece though T//S
Some recs based on what I believe you'd like : Memento Mori, A Match Made In Heaven, Gone with the Wind, Dead Butterflies
!His videos are the most professional thing I've ever seen! and the best sound quality in a video! or maybe it will also be to blame for being high and playing very beautiful! ❤️🤓 A hug from Tamaulipas Mexico Primo!
thank for the love to the Searles
Architects is, in my opinion, the most perfect metalcore band. Sam Carter is so talented and just as good live.
The first Architects song I ever heard, and the song that hooked me on them for life.
Ahh, back when they were still "Archibleghs". Theres's also a really good piano reprise of their song "Doomsday". I think it would be amazing to get your reaction to both in one video
“Make them suffer- erase me” pleaseee
