This guy in a squad of 6 windriders with shuriken cannons can output quite a scary amount of heavy infantry killing power. Also, pinning at least one guy to a wall by chucking a spear at him is a tradition in my games when I bring this guy.
The Shroud Runner / Dark Reaper combo has been one of my favorites for this edition so far. Adding the Farseer Skyrunner and her own squad of midfield damage dealers to that combo is so much fun. Shroud Runners again do their namesake thing and fly under the radar this edition but turn out to be really strong!
I’m enjoying Guide on my haywire Scourge unit - means you get fairly good odds of ending up with 12 Devs in to a vehicle, which is pretty useful in this meta!
Something I always liked doing was using guide on Dire Avenger, Doom on their target with a melee Aspect Warrior squad as back up to delete a particular target that needs to go.

I want to make it a unit of 9 but need to buy/paint three more windriders haha. They are perfect marine killers and the warlock granting them cover can make them a bit more durable out in the open it you don't need to use the cover removal power. Thanks Brent
As always, love the content Brent! I've been running the Farseer Skyrunner since the beginning of 10th as I like the speed to use Branching Fates. Having Guide and a decent shooting output is just bonus. I do want to test Guide on some Spears with the points drop. My dog's name is Doug. We also have 5 cats: Ellie, Peeta, Tia, Star and Sylvie.
Always tun him with 6 WR and a warlock sky runner, works good. Waiting for dex to see if i can make a full bike list. Seeing as spears went down maybe some play before that.
I've been trying to figure out what I'd cut for a group of 10 dire avengers with Asureman. Hitting on 2s normally isn't huge for guide. But hitting on 4+ out of overwatch re-rolling is pretty nice.

I've been playing the nine windriders with Farseer skyrunner for a while and loving it (although the entire unit getting overwatched by a unit of flash gits made me sad! 😭.) But i agree with an earlier poster; I don't think re-rolling the non-critical hits adds up. Imagine after your first hour roll you have 6 dice that are 3-5. That's six hits. You reroll those, on average you get 1*6, 1*5, 1*4 etc. The 6 gives you two hits, the 3, 4 and 5 each give you one hit. That's 5 hits. So by rerolling the 3s to 5s, on average you turn 6 hits into 5 😔.
As an aspect warrior player in ages past, I'm all for a Farseer backing up a chunky unit of Avengers. A shame they can't fit in a Falcon for matching mobility. Pets? Grew up with a dog called Tommy, but I couldn't say it yet, so I called him Baloo. He was a cheeky boy; knew he wasn't allowed in the dining room while we were eating, so he'd lie at the doorway with with his crossed paws just across the threshhold.

classic guide+fortune combo is great for my wraithlord, albeit I was fighting tyranids nothing he was dishing out managed to pierce my lovely lord's armor! Although Fortune on the Avatar would be like 100% of the time all the time haha. Dont really want to run that many characters in my army tho. Additionally, I ran the warlock conclave as well, really helped my seer soak damage and put out decent anti-infantry with 2d6 torrent shooting in ADDITION to catapults.
Warlock Witchblades + Bladestorm Probably mentioned here already but from what I understand witchblades has the /anti-infantry/ keyboard which means that it always crit wounds on an X+ and blade storm stratagem specifically worded as add to - 2ap to every critical wound!
Gotta say I wish our farseers got that ability when being near models gains Lone Operative. Either way thank you for the vid! Might need to try fitting in the Skyrunner into my lists. I miss having guide in my armies haha! Best wishes!
Windriders already rr when they shoot the closest unit on objectives. My favorite way to the use this dude is in Ynnari to give the scourges full rrs, if you want extra spicy use it on scourges with splinter cannons and pop a cp for bladestorm and sit back and laugh at ap-3 anti infantry 3, or why not just give a voidraven bomber a full reroll with 12 dark scythe shots. Also include shroud runners and vypers buffs for an extra fun shooting turn.

If you are dropping your Scorpions within 12 of a farseer turn 1 your are missing a great chance to infiltrate forward and take a gamble killing something if you go first
Bikeseer leading 6 Windriders with shuriken canons is my star unit in my current crusade. They clean up just about anything I point them at. Then my Autarch Wayleaper leaps in and claims an objective and/or melts a tank.
Guide on windriders sounds fun. I think just rerolling 1-2s on 9 bikes gives you on average 30 hits and is mathematically better. 27 (18 hit, 9 miss), 9 rerolled (6 hit, 3 miss) 24 hit (1/4 are 6s, so 6 6s), so 30 hits average.
I don't know how useful it is since it's in the grotsmas detachment, but there is an enhancement that gives the character lone op if they are near a vehicle, and who cares about the rest, cuz that's a farseer to give auto six fate dice to front lines safely.

@@WBConcilio well the other problem is that the detachment isn't as good for vehicles as the index rerolls on your bright lances. I had it babysit a falcon, and I ran into a few problems, but they were my midpoint objective holders, and they'd have gotten away with it if the ghostkeel and chaos Lord hadn't been so rude.
I've been using Farseer Skyrunner with x6 Windrunners + Asurmen and 10x Dire Avengers in most of my casual games since the start of the edition. Honestly absolutely killer amount of damage but very fragile in truth space elf style.
If you have 9 windriders with buff: Repeating only the errors: 30 impacts on average. Repeating everything on the first throw, except the sixes: 27.75 hits on average... (bad strategy)

Regarding rerolling [sustained 1], the math works out that on sustained 1 you should only reroll the misses, and sustained 2 you reroll everything

Yeah, Farseers would benefit from a little more survivability, but aside from Eldrad it's generally not a huge issue
