It was unfair of Mick to cut her off though, just when she was about to add "and I'm extremely well off, have Private Healthcare and always vote Conservative".
It’s so frustrating that Mick has to keep pointing out the facts every bloody time over this.
@REGAN ELITE That's because we now live in a world where "alternative facts" have become a thing! We need to support people like Mick & the workers he represents who deal at grass roots with how the actual facts of the situation affects the safety & welfare of all workers & passengers.
I really loath the way first ‘journalist’ keeps going well basically none of the issues or reasons you are striking matter because people just want to use the train. It’s ignorant simple man in the Wetherspoons ‘common sense’ bs. It’s cynical, duplicitous and insidious. The idea that striking is detrimental to a business is absurd, without workers there is no business. Wages are compensation for labour, if that compensation isn't enough to live on then people will look to redress the balance. Corporations have all the power and treat their workforce with disdain and then expect loyalty for peanuts...

@@TheBigears1 Cheers, It's funny how one working wage could support a mortgage and a family before anti-union and anti-strike legislation. This is what happens when you get someone of intelligence up against "government mouthpieces". I am old enough to remember the bellicose union leaders of the 60s and 70s. Mick Lynch doesn't come across like that, he uses well reasoned arguments that the MSM can' t handle, and generally speaking the public understand his point even if it does inconvenience them.
He lies, I travel just fine when strikes aren't on...
Mick is refreshingly grounded and clear on his objectives. And he’s not wrong either. Literally everything he makes a point about is right!!! The everyday person need to stop being pushed aside to make those in the 1% of wealth and power. More power to this man and his endeavours!!!!
Funny how one working wage could support a mortgage and a family before anti-union and strike legislation...
True, but a bigger factor pushing up house prices and keeping wages stagnant is the switch to two breadwinners per family, in the recent generation or two. Houses aren't now sold for what they are worth, compared to the era of the sole breadwinner, they are sold and rented for how much the seller/renter can leverage out of two wage earners.
@@GreenMorningDragonProductions Yea, that's partly my point. But the main factor was the sale of 2 million council houses and the lack of any new social housing. Over 40% of that housing ending up in the hands of private landlords within a decade. Not to mention new legislation that prioritizes landlords over tenants. They're squeezing the market through a lack of investment, increasing the price of existing stock considerably.
Correlation does prove causation
@@Razmatazuk 🤡
@@steveparker8065 Stamp-duty scheme and the Buy to Let scheme exacerbates this, it means that a working family is competing with a large property conglomerate on local houses. The classic British Chocolate Box Semi-detached house is now inaccessible for most families, meaning you have to rely on poorly built new homes which have guaranteed buyers on the help-to-buy scheme.
He sure hit a raw nerve with that court stenographer from Sky.
They do waffle on, to no benefit, perhaps they want the public to lose track of their question. I still see it as promoting the government line, I hope I'm not alone.

Just look at Nadine Dorres.
@Simon Haste particularly because she is a journalist last of all those things.
Are these recent appearances on TV? I thought the British media had learned their lesson after he demolished every argument made to him on air last year. Surely the journalists themselves understand that if they go toe to toe with Mick he'll make them look like dithering fools.
The trouble with dithering fools is,they are too stupid to realise what they are.
I think they know at least a day ahead. They probably draw straws or do a raffle to see who the lucky guy gal middle aged woman will be. Then they practice their lines in front of the mirror all night
Who needs critical thinking and objective reporting when you can just echo whatever the government wants you to say? I mean, why bother with pesky things like investigating the facts or challenging those in power? Let's just go with the flow and pretend we're doing our job
I live in Kent and the trains into London are getting busier and the strain on the local stations when the ticket offices are closed is increasing.
If the ticket offices are shut and the machines are down (again) or there is a huge queue and people can't buy tickets onbaord because it's too busy for the Train Manager to move down the train it ends up being a huge queue at St Pancras as people buy tickets and create issues of over crowding.
This is all put in place by people that have not bought tickets in years as their PA's buy and expense them.
Start making MPs buy tickets out of their own pockets each day at the station to see a positive change.

If that 'journalist' was not just repeating government propaganda designed to vilify workers, unions and union leaders, then why does she come out with the samñe line as them?
Well said mick , I bet the people asking the questions are not struggling with the cost of living. And I bet there pensions will be more a month than any train worker gets paid for a month.
Surely the journalist who attacked their pension should have actually researched how it worked before making himself look like a complete dafty. Our journalists do not even conduct the most rudimentary of research before interviews. It's embarrassing.
They picked up the habit of not investigating from our police force!

Have you noticed how all of these Right-wing mouthpiece journalists now ALWAYS ask Mick protracted/long-winded questions? A lot of customers are on the rail workers side. I’d love to know how disabled folks are going to get about on trains without any staff . My wife has to regularly sit on a platform late at night without any staff and trains being cancelled, it’s a horrible feeling. I’m glad Mick is standing up for the good of the worker’s and passengers . We need a better rail system, it’s still one of the most economical way to get about .
It bloody well isn't. Even with petrol at today's silly prices, it's still cheaper for me to take the car than a train. Not forgetting that trains don't actually take you all the way to where you want to be. Trains in the UK are massively overpriced, because they've got you by the short and curlies, if you don't have access to a car.
@@sarkybugger5009 just over £4 for my wife to travel nearly 50 miles with the return. She would pay that in parking for the day and then use up more or less the same in fuel everyday, so it would be cheaper than the bloody car . Add what it costs to keep it on the road, tax , tyre wear ,servicing and MOT and repair. To me the railway is still cheaper and greener !
@@andybyrne50 I'm not arguing it's greener, but for me to visit (for example) my Mum, 7 miles away, costs £5.60 for a return. That's not including the taxi at each end. (that's 4 taxis.)

Shame they dont talk to ministers in the same way and for the times journalist using the words 'your lot' its his members. This government are happy to give the highest paid additional pension benefits but wont give our teachers or nhs staff a pay rise.
The journos are complaining the house is on fire, Mick needs to explain to them how they agreed to take away the fire extinguisher to save “costs”…..Hilarious!
Mick knows his subject, unlike the reporters
Yeah, Mick Lynch is right, even when they aren’t striking, our railways aren’t fit for service. I sometimes have to travel down to London Euston on the Manchester line, a major railway line, and I have the choice of paying astronomical ticket prices if I travel peak (£300 +), or travelling off-peak (still expensive), and often standing for the whole way because the trains are over-full. And don’t mention the bloody cancellations. Apparently it is even worse if you try to travel east to west, or vice versa.
I don’t blame the railway staff, who are trying to make this really crappy system work, and have to bear the brunt of customer complaints. No, I’m angry with the greedy companies who are responsible, the government who think this is acceptable, and these journalists who just parrot the party line.
Oh it is so good to see Mick back brilliant
great comebacks from mick 👏👍
as someone who only uses the train for leisure purposes and lives in the north west of England I can confirm they are an absolute nightmare. Unreliable to the point where I'm put off planning on doing anything or going anywhere because trannspenine and northern as well as Avanti on the west coast mainline are persistently cancelling trains minutes before they are due. At least when its a strike day you can plan around it happening. They constantly hike the prices, the service has gotten worse and yet they continue to operate with ridiculous profits.
Probably the overtime ban and unco-operative
I’m a rail worker and a commuter via trains. It’s awful, the amount of services that are cancelled primarily due to a lack of staff. The TOC’s just want to squeeze every penny out of government subsidies and the government are more than happy for that to happen. I suspect that many peers and ministers have skin in the game in terms of dividends. Ever wonder why so many of the privately educated go into politics, I doubt it’s a sense of public service!
She’s in tune with the people she speaks with at the Murdoch cheese and wine night every Friday
Mick is our own Jen Psaki - unflappable and informed. Don't know how he does so well under attack. Some "journalists" really see raising their voice as an achievement. Such egotistical people.
It's because he evades the questions and has moronic echo chamber sheep such as yourself who are incapable of critical thinking. Lynch-as any Tory would be too- would have been shredded by the Redheads Youngers and Evans' of the past. We demanded that of hacks in the past. You just stamp your pompous sheltered middle class foot and would scream "Cancel" as that's the infantile level you and the rest of the echo chamber sheep here are at.
What a disgrace to compare Lynch to a freaking liar government spokesperson as Psaki. Shame
3:20 Oh really, the motivation of the train companies is not to make money, its just to make the trains better, come of it? Seriously? Have you looked up what company means?
The journalists (and I use that term loosely) are pedalling the nonsense from the government and train companies. Maybe some of them would do well to use the trains over a period of time and then they might understand what Mick and his collegues are up against. I guess it will also need their bosses to not be pressuring them to not criticise the government or big business. I needed to get from Upminster to Exeter yesterday during the strike on the underground. And I'm partially disabled. I went to the overground station and used the ticket office and also got advice from the human beings there. I've always found the railway staff very helpful. At Fenchurch Street I had to walk to Liverpool Street, which I can manage at my own pace. And again I asked the staff at Liverpool Street for advice. I then took the Elizabeth Line to Paddington and the excellent GWR service to Exeter. One aside - I carry an air quality monitor with me and it always warns me of the poor air quality inside the train once it switches to diesel to complete the SW part of the journey, as they haven't electrified the rail network in the South West. So we get poisoned by diesel fumes on the platforms and in the trains. I worry for the staff as they are exposed for far longer periods to this carcinogenic pollution than the passengers. Sadly I didn't see any pickets on my travels as i would have liked to show them my support. I hope they can hold out and win for all our sakes.
He sure doesn't waste time going straight for the jugular.
