Mick Lynch: Truss making it 'impossible' for unions to exist

- Опубліковано 22 тра 2024
- Mick Lynch, the General Secretary of the RMT union, has warned that the UK could soon be as oppressive as China and Russia in stamping out union activity.
He told Sky's Sophy Ridge that proposed laws restricting unions would make it impossible for workers to take industrial action.
He said: "We're far getting to a situation where we're going to have laws that are as oppressive as those that exist in Russia and China.
"They're trying to make it impossible for trade unions to exist in this country.
"They're trying to make it impossible for the people of this country to campaign against poverty....They're trying to regulate unions."

Mick Lynch demonstrates an authenticity and intelligence that is respectful, informed, logical and passionate. These traits appear to be missing in the current government who are disrespectful, fraudulent, illogical, and have the emotional range of damaged toddlers who get worse the more people demonstrate their falsehoods. He also demonstrates a sense of humour and an ability to learn with the times, as shown in his interviews and his development as a key public figure.

I agree Andrew. The interview seems a far cry from the earlier quite dismissive ones. Rather than the unprepared table thumper the Media expected, I think he took them by surprise by his reasoned answers and respectful failure to rise to their goading. Top bloke.
100 percent support for Mick Lynch, Eddy Dempsey and all Unions and members. This Government is attempting to dismantle all working people's hard won rights that many over many decades have fought and died for.
The simplest way of avoiding strike is to give workers what's due to them
Between 1945 and 1980 both the UK and the USA where capitalist counties. Wages rose with GDP reflecting worker contributing to the increase.
Then along came Reagan and Thatcher.
Their liberal free market view was wages where a cost. And costs should be reduced to increase dividends,
The workers need a pay rise backdated to 1980!

The public did not vote this woman. It's bonkers
The more pertinent point, given that the public never vote for the PM, is that she is operating without a manifesto and therefore without a mandate.
The Conservative manifesto the public voted for in 2019, like it or hate it (I hated it), is not what Truss is working to now.
Truss' regime is, quite simply, a dictatorship.
@@TheValeyard92 to add her tax cuts for the rich and the way she plummeted the pound (which was already low) is what a dictator would do. Surely plummeting the pound was purposely done to shorten it for her pals.
@@TheValeyard92 Since when has any political party (of whatever colour) delivered on their manifesto or not deviated from it.
Indeed, but she just did proud in that budget for the handful of rich pensioners who don’t have a mortgage. They’ll be very happy that she’s made them richer and stuck two fingers up to everyone else in the country.
The public don’t vote for any Prime Minister ,they vote for one of their local candidates to Parliament . The party with the most seats in the Parliament usually forms the government & their leader is the one chosen to be PM . That’s the way things usually go down . As the party with the most seats ,decided to chose the woman to replace their leader as PM ,this gives her just as much legitimacy as all PM’s before her .

They would embarrass themselves and won the argument for the unions. So it would be an "unbalanced" coverage because it supports 1 parties objective, or rather because the BBC may be held culpable by the gov for opening the goal for the unions.
