Cheap Ebay Turbo $150 (Run fine if you stay under 8Psi), or A Good Garrett turbo for $400 (If you wanna go over 10psi) The 22RE has a stock CR of 9.3:1 So 10psi is attainable and probably the max. Turbo oil feed lines, 3" pipe, bigger injectors, intercooler, aftermarket manifold. Your looking at minimum $800 In parts. Plus Labor, about $600. This is assuming your engine is in good working order, It would only be a good investment if you plan on getting 180rwhp which is difficult on a stock build
I have a question please don't answer if you don't know what your talking about. I have an 89 dlx 4x4 with a 22re 5 speed can it be boosted is it worth it and how much would it cost asuming i have to pay a professional to install it?
Eekkk, thats really pushing it. If you get lucky and find a turbo setup from a 22RTE motor, that would be your best bet. You'll only get 5psi of boost and maybe 25 more horsepower. And of course you'd have to do the work yourself, which isn't that hard really, But for your price, I see more problems that may arise. I have a 70' Celica with a turbo 22re, $1,800 engine/turbo setup gets me 273rwhp and a 12.86 1/4 mile. I did a LOT of parts hunting
