You could take an affordable plain Jane CZ-75 SP-01 tactical and install a few CGW parts and it will shoot just as good if not better than a Shadow 2. Food for thought.

Enjoy it! I got mine about half a year ago, wanted one for like 2 years but they went out of stock when I was ready to buy. I got insanely lucky and picked up a used one for $850 with multiple grips, mags, and a Holosun that I now use on my P10C EDC. In Massachusetts these guns never go under their $1299 MSRP so I got a crazy good deal. It makes my USP feel like an antique and makes the trigger on my Desert Eagle feel cheap. I have a 226 legion and a shadow 2 and they are both excellent handguns. But i can honestly say that the shadow 2 is faster and more accurate at least when its my hands. It will vary between shooters im sure but i bet 90 percent of them would choose the shadow 2. Awesome vid Chris keep them coming. I was wondering if you were going to make an update video on the p-09 nocturne. Curious if the kinks worked themself out or if you called them and sent it back. Hope to hear about it
I can’t afford most of these guns, I do own a couple of the Shield Plus variants and I just love them. When # 1 came up as the best shooting gun I knew he had it right. All of my guns are the 1911 versions and shoot really well even though none of them cost much. I have a RIA in 10mm and I can shoot 6” targets all day long with long strings of no misses at 100 yards.
Love seeing the Archon Type B in the honorable mentions. That platform is way ahead of it's time Idk why it's so slept on but the recoil impulse could easily be the best of this bunch (excluding the Laugo)
Happy the Type B made the honorable mentions at least. I have about 15k rounds through both my Gen 1 and Gen 2 with only 3 malfunction issues due to ammo. Absolutely love that gun.
I got the 226 x5 legion based on your video and its the best shooting pistol I have shot. It blows staccato and shadow 2 out of tbe water for me at least. Staccato feels fast but i hate the grip and the cz grip is awesome and the recoil seems less but nothing that blew my mind. The 226 feels like im shooting a 380. My dot never leaves the window. out of all my pistols its the only one i feel like makes me shoot better, its a cheat code 😅
Don't sleep on semi-custom filipino 1911/2011's. There some awesome foreign options just as good as these super custom options. Also, the CZ75 is the best shooting platform in the world.
Girsan also makes some solid offerings for both 1911s and M9s, along with some other guns. Any more there are a _lot_ of good budget foreign-made 9mms out there worth taking a look at.
@waefawawrgaw2835 😂😂😂😂 tell me you've never fired a hammer fired weapon while telling me just that. Your striker fired can't touch hammer sweet heart and I own both
@@driftitlikeyouownit That really depends on the gun, bud. SA pistols have better triggers, but a strike-fired gun is much easier to carry concealed. _I_ also own both, and I preferred my M9 for open carry and my XD for CCW. I like hammer-fired guns too, but there's more to owning a pistol than shootablility.
I was undecided between the FN and HK Mark 23. A range buddy got the FN, and we went out to shoot it. Within 30 minutes in the Texas sun, the gun stopped dropping mags. After closer inspection, we discovered the grip was getting soft and flimsy. Went with the Mark 23.
This was definitely a fun video. I really enjoyed it, a ton a great pistols on here. I 100% believe this list is on point. My main reason is i know how much time you put into this and work your experience I'm confident in your list.
X macro gang here!!! 🔥🔥. So glad the AXG legions made the lists. Those are my next purchases for pistol! I love my macro….but I remember just renting the 365 AXG legion out at the range, my jaw dropped after the first shot. So smooth. Def worth the price!
Just days ago I picked up a p226 X-Five Reserve. Gorgeous gun, and I'm putting on a vortex XL comp to shoot USPSA for some kicks. Looked at the Atlas Athena DLC couple days ago and fell in love with that one. What a trigger it has! That one's going to be next! Love these videos, I appreciate your reviews.
After buying and shooting tons of sub $1000 guns since I was legally able to do so, I was finally able to budget and save for a few months and finally got my staccato P with the DLC threaded barrel. I will say, it is my favorite gun I have ever shot. I mean it runs everything even suppressed. Was never a staccato fan boy and still will never be, but to me a spade is a spade, it is the best shooting gun and feels the best to me.
I can't comment on the list. I do not own any of those guns nor fired them. They look very nice for sure. I have put some stupid money into hunting rifles, lever rifles and revolvers (single and double action) over the years. I did do the race gun 1911 builds and competed a lifetime ago, which was expensive, but now only have one left. At my age now, I have a few Glocks, a CZ 75BD, and a few shotguns for hunting, and a couple for home defense, and a few AR rifles. I carry the G19 from when I get out of bed until I come in at evening time here at the ranch. (lots of illegals in south Texas). I put the XS Big Dot sights on all my Glocks. Those are good sights. As I age, I am transitioning into the utilitarian aspects of guns and streamlining the inventory.
XS is All American, and sooo TEXAN! I have been to their facility, they dont mess around, solid as they come, great products, excellent people. God Bless Texas.
Into the horizon, not "over" it. Just the facts man, just the facts. Horizon means horizontal, which means no curve. The best guns always "shoot the flattest."
My p365 Spectre comp with the Wilson combat module and tungsten weights is insanely fast and feels amazing in the hand with very light recoil. Plus with the magguts spring in the magazine you can get any x frame to 14+1 which is unreal in such a small package.
Ah man, he should have let you make the list. 😂 PS. I have shot a PX4 and a Wilson 92, and I prefer the 92. The tuned up PX4 was nice, but the 92 felt really good even without a dot.
I'd love to see Beretta revisit the Px4. Got mine as a full sized .40, and honestly, it's probably the smoothest in its caliber. Being able to swap calibers, basically on the fly is also phenomenal.
Enjoyed this video,as always. You have the best job ever! You are my favorite gun reviewer and always my go to when I want to research my next poor financial decision.😂. I am getting my watchtower Apache later this week and am nervously optimistic. It impressed me a lot in the store, but I am seeing very mixed reviews. It seems they may have consistently and quality control issues. This is judging from reviews I have watched.
I agree on the 2011 being #1. They are just in a league of their own trigger and fitment wise. I've got an atlas hyperion with an optic cut and it's amazing. I did just get to shoot an mpa ds9 hybrid with dsc v8 porting and an aftermarket trigger and that was also amazing. Really nice piece for the price
I just bought a CZ Shadow 2 so I'm super excited to pick it up and test it out! It been on my bucket list for a while now and was able to find one for a decent price! Looking to add some Loks Grip, the CGW trigger package, and the new Vortex XL. Can't wait to test it out in competition!
Great combo. look into kummer grips as an option. Don't go too crazy on the ultra light spring setup including the extended firing pin. They aren't drop safe to begin with, but with that the risk is significantly higher and reliability ain't there anymore. Correct dryfire & classes give the big boosts.
@ honestly, I’ll probably only get the reach reduction kit. I want to save as much money and keeping the S2 as stock as possible. Although 13 lb recoil spring might be an option since I heard it’s reliable.
I agree 100% that the Atlas Erebus is the best shooting pistol ever! Craftsmanship, attention to detail, it is absolute perfection, mo fo’s! At an MSRP of $7500, it’s a steal, in my opinion.
I hate blacked out rear sights. I discovered my tendency, since there is no frame of reference on the rear sight, is to align the front sight dot next to the left side of the rear sight, with the predictable result of me putting my rounds on the left side of the target instead of on the bullseye.
I have a four-year-old Shield 9, bought in a spree of N+1 buying because it came with a pile of magazines for the price of the pistol. Didn't realize at the time that S&W was going to release the Shield Plus a month or two later, making a single-stack Shield a relic. I had an M&P M 2.0 sub-compact (12-round magazine size), and found the trigger "crunchy" compared to my CZ P10F and P10S. I've only kept the Shield because it's almost tiny, but I don't shoot it well (my hands accept a CZ PCR much more readily). I may still off-load the thing, as I've found that I can just as easily conceal a J-frame-sized wheel gun that works better with my hand shape and get better round placement. For my main EDC, I'll stick with my PCR or my P07. I'm happier with the DA/SA trigger systems than I am with striker-fired triggers. YMMV
I use my old Shield when I travel on the airlines to friendly states. I put 2 layers of the Talon grip material on the sides of the grip to make it wider. Feels much better
The Beretta is a full figured Italian girl, that throws it back softly.

Two of his daughters are still in San Antonio, however. I love Texas culture and have visited many times. My brother and I went to an A&M football game two years ago and it was like we were adopted by every family in attendance. Real America lives on in Texas! We’re looking forward to it for sure!
(My wife has never been to San Antonio, but she loves Buc-ees lol).
I've got the Walther PDP-F 3.5 and out of the box is definitely the best trigger and best polymer frame striker fire pistol I've ever shot in my life.
PDP Pro, CZ P10, Staccato C2, Shield Plus PC, Canik Mete Pro for me.
I have that exact APX LEGION setup & optic. 😍 LOVE IT
I've never shot a Walther PDP, but that design calls to me. Maybe after I get my Christmas money.
It has the best grip I ever held and the serrations are real nice. I want to get one myself but I'm torn between that or the HK VP9.
Have the PDP 4" C. Amazing compact option and for sure the gun with the best ergonomy I ever tried.
man if you shoot it, you'll buy it that day
I love the DWX
I'm getting the compact in about a week or 2... literally can't wait.
Love my compact. You will not be disappointed
Thank you for adding the Mark 23 on there! The video was great as always!👍🏻✌🏻
Hope to hear about it
I jave the same guns and it's the same for me - I shoot my Shadow 2 SAO just a tad better than the p226 Legion SAO.
Love your videos man!!!
Do a best shooting carry gun/pistol list
Love seeing the Archon Type B in the honorable mentions. That platform is way ahead of it's time Idk why it's so slept on but the recoil impulse could easily be the best of this bunch (excluding the Laugo)
The p365 axg legion is the best considering its size and barrel length. Plus it's a carry gun
Love the video man. I'm glad my Beretta made the list.
No VP9 is a crime 😢
My VP9 has never had a malfunction and has never let me down. Definitely not the best striker fired pistol, but it's up there with the best.
Don't sleep on semi-custom filipino 1911/2011's. There some awesome foreign options just as good as these super custom options. Also, the CZ75 is the best shooting platform in the world.
Girsan also makes some solid offerings for both 1911s and M9s, along with some other guns. Any more there are a _lot_ of good budget foreign-made 9mms out there worth taking a look at.
hammer fire isnt the best. Its not the 1950's anymore. Striker fired is the new thing
I like hammer-fired guns too, but there's more to owning a pistol than shootablility.
i hope chris gets to try the Metrillo 👌
Steel frame match was my favorite gun for such a long time.
FNX 45 Tactical is my number one
I was undecided between the FN and HK Mark 23. A range buddy got the FN, and we went out to shoot it. Within 30 minutes in the Texas sun, the gun stopped dropping mags. After closer inspection, we discovered the grip was getting soft and flimsy. Went with the Mark 23.
Always got surprises when I thought I knew what's out there lol why I love your channel keep good work 👊
Landon tactical PX4 STORM. Awesome firearm.

Honorable budget mention- Beretta APX A1.
Hell of a runner, with a hell of a fair price. Walking circles around kitted glocks.
Update us on the Springfield echelon comp.. 100 round review
As always Thanks for the great video Chris loved watching it ...... We love and appreciate you Guys
Please do a review of the CZ SP-01 Manual Safety Model please!!
That was my first gun. 10K rounds later it's still one of my favorites. But I do use a shadow 2 for USPSA instead.
This was definitely a fun video. I really enjoyed it, a ton a great pistols on here. I 100% believe this list is on point. My main reason is i know how much time you put into this and work your experience I'm confident in your list.
Favorite guntuber!!
X macro gang here!!! 🔥🔥. So glad the AXG legions made the lists. Those are my next purchases for pistol! I love my macro….but I remember just renting the 365 AXG legion out at the range, my jaw dropped after the first shot. So smooth. Def worth the price!
Canik Rival also
Spot on!!!!! Find a CZ97 and do a review! They are hard to find since discontinued but fantastic
love seeing a mix of full-size and compact options for versatility.
Great list. I really like the Canik. I’ve always hated striker fired guns until the Canik came along. Erebus….can’t wait! Should get mine this month!
Hands down for overall Best Pistol , Sig, X-Five Legion !
Yeah, no. Good but definitely not best.
Fam you’re a hero love this content !!!!!!!🔥
Shadow 2 are amazing
The best
Love shooting my Shadow 2 SAO!
@@bokiNYC shit is amazing, its shoots better than my staccato P
Just days ago I picked up a p226 X-Five Reserve.
Gorgeous gun, and I'm putting on a vortex XL comp to shoot USPSA for some kicks.
Looked at the Atlas Athena DLC couple days ago and fell in love with that one. What a trigger it has!
That one's going to be next!
Love these videos, I appreciate your reviews.
Never been this early for a video, but I love your content ❤ keep up the good work!
PDP Steelframe. Worth a try. CZ TS2 racing green. Phoenix Redback. Three to mention here.
@@dentontxflatearthguy2903 Thats good.
God bless America ❤
My still fav is the Dan Wesson DWX, but GREAT LIST DUDE! CZ forever.
Dude, I’ve seen you hit targets over the horizon with a J-Frame (almost). So although the guns are good, it’s the shooter that makes hits.
Into the horizon, not "over" it. Just the facts man, just the facts. Horizon means horizontal, which means no curve. The best guns always "shoot the flattest."
@ Planet I live on is round.
@@dentontxflatearthguy2903allow me to introduce to you to a literary tool called ~hyperbole~
Because List!!! I Am Undoubtedly a CZ Fanboy!!!
Such a vibe, love the energy here!

SILENCE, ASSBOT!!!
My p365 Spectre comp with the Wilson combat module and tungsten weights is insanely fast and feels amazing in the hand with very light recoil. Plus with the magguts spring in the magazine you can get any x frame to 14+1 which is unreal in such a small package.
Forgot the Beretta PX4 Storm
😢PX4… no love 💔
@@GeoffreySage Rodney Dangerfield of guns, no respect
Ah man, he should have let you make the list. 😂
PS.
Have had and loved my px4 for years.
Shadow 2 at number 2. Custom 2011 at number one. Would that put my tuned up DWX at 1 1/2? 😄
I agree what about the DWX?
Love watching your content
The tip barrel Taurus. 22 didn't make the list??? 🥺🥺🥺
Hey Chris,
Your “shoot from the hip” community is appreciated.😂
You may have done it before but I think a 22lr pistol top 10 be cool
I agree on the 2011 being #1. They are just in a league of their own trigger and fitment wise. I've got an atlas hyperion with an optic cut and it's amazing. I did just get to shoot an mpa ds9 hybrid with dsc v8 porting and an aftermarket trigger and that was also amazing. Really nice piece for the price
How about a 5 best budget shot guns, 5 premium shot guns, and a best 5 budget and 5 best Gucci competition guns.
Just bought the axg legion for my carry gun. Even with big hands the gun feels amazing
Best gun for the money, period. I have 3!
Putting your custom carry gun in this list seems strange change
Chris you never miss with any gun!
Clicked so fast 🎉🎉🎉
Great video. I pretty much agree with all of your picks.
No dwx again?
I like to think the DWX sits next to the Shadow 2, such a good gun
Just bought a Canik Rival S. I'm pumped.
I have PSD FK 7.5 - phenomenal gun with anomaly recoil. Love it.
I hate blacked out rear sights. I discovered my tendency, since there is no frame of reference on the rear sight, is to align the front sight dot next to the left side of the rear sight, with the predictable result of me putting my rounds on the left side of the target instead of on the bullseye.
Whoa look out, yet another top 10 video. Didn’t see that coming.
@ I did, now I gotta get them to stop showing up on my feed.
I'm glad I bought my CZ Shadow 2 SAO when I did. Before CZ could do CZ things.
"Very nice" - Borat
