This is the kind of wholesome content I came looking for, and frankly i'm more than a little disheartened that i had to scroll past numerous threads populated by people pontificating about the superiority of people who wear very little or very natural looking makeup over people who do a full beat every day or just like to wear a lot more makeup or more dramatic colors, as if their unsolicited opinion holds any objective truth or fact.
...Anyway, had to get that little surge of vitriol out of my system; keep spreading cheer.

But as one vocab lover to another, I just wanted to let you know that some people will think you're a bit of a snob if you use words like "pontificating", since nobody ever uses them. I also haven't heard anyone who isn't being a jerk use the word "vitriol". I know it's not my place to comment. However, I think you're a clever, well-read person, and you would reach more hearts and minds if you were more inclusive towards the rest of the population insofar as your word usage is concerned. I hope you don't hate this comment, sorry! It's just something I've learned over time, as a fellow word lover. I was in my 20s during the 80s & never wore super bright makeup. Neither did most of my friends. I wore mainly neutral eyeshadows & peachy blushes & lipsticks which are now called " nude." The biggest difference between then & now that I see is brows, contouring, highlighting & bronzer. We didn't really have products for those purposes back then although you could achieve it with different colors & textures of blush. Most of us applied liquid foundation with our fingers since the only sponges available were those foam rubber wedges or flat pancakes that came in powder compacts. We didn't have Sephora or Ulta in the 80s, so you mostly bought drugstore or went to a department store like Macys or Nordstrom's for designer cosmetics. Many of us started out in makeup through our moms selling Avon or MaryKay Cosmetics. Avon was my gateway makeup lol. This was a good example. I had some books on style/ fashion that included makeup instructions & even had a couple tutorials on VHS tape as part of a Color Me Beautiful seasonal color/style analysis system that was big for a while. What's interesting to me is that if you stick to basics & stay pretty natural/classic with your makeup, it wont date you as much as anything super trendy will. :)

I had my seasonal colours done back in the late 80's. I wish they would bring it back. It was so useful. I think I still have my original swatch book. I could see whole makeup lines being created for this.
@@dladymuse I was super into Color Me Beautiful too & had my colors done twice. I have my swatches & several style/makeup books still. They did have a cosmetics line for a while but I don't think it's around anymore. 😁They overhauled & expanded the seasonal palettes & I think they are much more personalized now. I always kinda knew what colors looked good on me but was never sure if I was an Autumn or Summer. First color analysis said Autumn but 2nd time I was Warm Golden Spring. The Warm Golden Spring fit much better since I can wear warm pinks, corals, violets & purple & often get compliments when I wear these colors. I think if you're not truly blonde, brunette or redhead, figuring out your season can be tough as they tend to use a blue eyed blonde for Spring & Summer, a redhead for Autumn & a very deep brunette for Winter. I had/have dark blonde hair that can pull red & hazel/grey eyes & very fair skin.
OMG I REMEMBER COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL. My mom sold Avon and would give me those mini lipstick sticks, I always felt grownup and beautiful using them!

Need to say ~ can't stand the "cosmetic sponges" of today! Give me my old fashioned ones of the 70's and 80's. The kind one gets in a big bag. 😉 And yes, it must be moistened!
Yess! My mother used to wet her foundation sponge (I believe she still does til this day) and so did my older sisters who are 15 and 12 years older than I am, so pretty much they grew up in the 90s!
I wet those little cosmetic sponges but I was like 12 and didn't understand not to soak it lol.

I still use those even though I have a beauty blender. You can get a huge bag cheap a d they last long.

I've looked absolutely everywhere for an authentic 80's makeup tutorial; there's this specific look that I adore that you commonly see in 80's movies and tv shows and I'd wanted to emulate it for a long time. Every time I went looking for a proper tutorial I'd always come across vibrant costume-y Madonna looks with extremely heavy shadow. A huge misconception people seem to have is that the over-the-top vibrant 80's looks are the definitive, typical 80's look, but I don't think that's ever been accurate. THIS is actually exactly the look I was searching for, it's so soft and natural and evokes that hazy, dreamy feel that a lot of 80's films have. Thanks so much for this!

As I was aged between 15 and 24 in the 80's I can attest that this is indeed the look most of us used at the time. As you say, the over-the-top looks were not used by most women. I loved watching this - just made me sad that it's now considered historical. I mean wasn't the 80's just yesterday???? lol 😉🤣
Just want to say that the over-the-top eyes were mostly used at night 🌙 or, by teens that didn't know better. I was in my twenties and working in the Financial District of San Francisco, trust me ~ a clean makeup and eyes were de rigueur! 😳😊 Fresh and natural for daytime. 💖
Ha ha ha, we really didn't do much beyond dark-lined eyes. I used two colors, usually matte grey or black and a metallic color on the lid. Metallic blue eye shadow was big and I had thick eyebrows and feathered hair. My friends wore bright cream blush and if we were young we did not use foundation, just cover up around the eyes. Lips were dark if you were a sultry girl, medium to light frost for everyone else. I wish I knew then what I know now about makeup.
I agree, that look was so heavenly! But some days I enjoy the Madonna makeup, kind of like today we have very minimal and full on glam makeup. It’s amazing how trends change and how we express ourselves just with cosmetics.

I feel the same way. I was living during the 80’ s , Jr High. I started using makeup at 15 , been rocking my makeup skills every day now for the past 30 years.
Watching this was kind of nostalgic. I think my older cousins were doing this , while I was learning the art of makeup.

I think a lot of people only think of the bright colors and hard angles from the eighties, myself included. I always forget that muted pastels were also popular (Princess Diana and the Golden Girls anyone?) and soft makeup colors with blurred lines. The hair is still terrible though, lol.
Pastels were very big in the 80s. It was a miracle to find decent jewel-toned or darker palettes. Blue eyeshadow was big. my eyes were lined, top and bottom, with black or dark gray shadow; my lower lid was lined inside with black pencil, and metallic blue went on the lids. Dark red or wine lipstick, some blush (I did not do crazy blush), a little coverup around the eys, and I was good.
The hair isnt terrible
I remember doing this style of makeup in the eighties. I had fat shadow pencils, everything was a fat pencil.
Thanks for reminding everyone about the muted pastels - I saw many of my friends and co-workers wear that color palette which was and still is quite wearable. My mother, a Hispanic woman of Puerto Rican descent wore a muted warm color palette with a slight shimmer. It was very Dallas/Knots Landing/Falcon Crest. Not as glam as Dynasty.

It's amazing how current these tips are from the 80s video! I guess classic makeup and application never goes out of style. I'm going to be incorporating some of these tips into my makeup routine from now on! Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed this. :)
IrishRose. I’ve been saying that so much. I’ve been contouring and highlights since the very early 2000s. These current beauty influencers definitely haven’t reinvented the wheel.

I was thinking the same thing! I was expecting to see some funny, outdated application methods and was actually shocked at how current it is. The highlight on the inner eye, above the lip, applying blush upwards along the cheek bone, the darker eye color on the outside of the eye...we still do all these things today!
@irishrose if you are into classic makeup applications. check out wayne goss on youtube. he is a rare breed on youtube. he incorperates alot of old skool techniques with the new.
If you like this tutorial then you will love books by Kevin Aucoin . He was the makeup master and No on has even come close to his talent. I learned so much from his books, he used to go on Oprah all the time so there may be old shows with him on youtube.
'Absolute minimum amount of makeup around the eye area'... jeez haven't time changed with that inch thick triangle of ghost white concealer the beauty gurus are painting on the undereye area :s
Amanda Robbins social media styled makeup (idk, that's what i call it) makes you look like a plastic doll. It's super unnatural, like you're not even human.
Also very impractical for everyday wear as you're going to look cakey no matter what. It photographs well with "beauty guru lighting" as I like to call it, and of course most pictures on social media are touched up or have a filter applied. Some of it is really cool to look at, but very very expensive and unrealistic
Why can't people ever appreciate some types of makeup without bashing others? This type of makeup isn't my cup of tea but I wouldn't bash it or people who wear it just because *I* wouldn't like to wear it

Noone is bashing the makeup style, these are just facts, it looks very cakey, and is expensive and impractical for everyday wear. And often the makeup doesent really inhance the facial features, it covers them up and paints over it. Which to me, is horrible. I hate that. But thats just my opinion right there, not part of the facts list🙄

I graduated high school in 1983 and started selling Mary Kay in 1986. It was nice to see a realistic recreation 😊. We wore a lot of pastels on our eyes, strong blushes and I did love my metallic lipsticks lol. Thanks so much for this trip down memory lane 😍

Wow this takes me back! I graduated high school in 1988! I think part of the reason your makeup came out more intense, is that our makeup in the eighties had a lot less pigment. It was actually quite hard to get a really intense look without applying your eyeshadow wet. Even the mascara is a lot thicker and darker now. But your look is very beautiful, and very authentic! I find a lot of movies and TV (just like now) showed a more "revved up" version of what people were wearing. Her tutorial is a lot more about what the avergae women was wearing day to day....... and yes, I still have my steel eyelash comb! lol
I'm class of 87 I remember the bright liquid shadows ( and having to set them with rice powder or they would clump and get muddy) and the shadow pencils and we had those cream shadows you pressed a sort of frost pigment in to for that over the top Jem /Madonna/Boy George look.
One thing I will say is our sponges and cream concealers were awesome. Way better than beauty blender and these wanna crease like crazy concealers they have now. I do miss those.
Glad to see this is still out there so I can prove to my kids that Yes I was actually wearing makeup in all those pictures they've seen where they figured I was out of style because I didn't look like a rainbow puked on my face LOL
I'm class of 86. Seems like black eye liner was a thing too. We sure didn't have the choices in makeup like they do now. No highlighters or contours. I don't think we even did our eyebrows? I know I didn't. Was it Cover Girl or Maybelline that had Blooming Colors? Remember that?
@@SB-uw1cr Well, the strong "Brooke Shields eyebrows were in style, so some gals who had really bushy brows did some plucking, but the ultra shaped brows were not really a thing much. I knew a lot of gals that did the shaping/contouring thing - they just got makeup a couple shades darker - and used matte light eyeshadow to highlight cheekbones,etc. There were some gals in my grad year that favoured black pencil on the waterline, but a lot if pencils were too hard back then unless you took a lighter to them to soften the pencil. Never could put makeup on my waterline - my eyes just tear up.
Black eye liner and heavy contour were part of the Joan Jett/ rock chick look. They also used contour on some of the ladies on the soaps but it was done differently usually with a dark peach colored blush ( We had blush duos for that) and only just under the cheek bone and on to the temple. And Boy George had a contour that went nearly to the corner of his mouth. I remember freaking out when my friend took a lighter to a mayballine eyeliner to do my water line for the rock chick look. I was like you're gonna put that hot thing where ?!! I don't think so LOL If I remember right eyebrows were thin lines al la Pat Benatar for a while but I don't remember how long it stuck.
I think the first edition of Making Faces may have been printed around 85 or 86 with instructions on contouring and highlighting but as highschool kids we didn't do all that everyday like they do now.
I must've missed all of that. I don't remember every contouring or any of my friends doing their eyebrows. Hmmmmmm...... I do remember trying to wear as many shades as possible on my eyes. LOL! I also remember the horrid scent of Cover Girl foundation and that it would turn orange on me. Don't think I've bought it for over 30 years either. hhahahaha!
The whole philosophy of Body Shop is to be nature friendly, so I'm not surprised that their makeup tutorial isn't "splash every color you can imagine" 80s.
But that wasn't real life in the 80's - that was music videos. In real life, we wore normal makeup. Think Breakfast Club, not Culture Club
I definitely wore some fun color - like bright fuchsia blush and lipstick - if I was going out to a club or something! But not in everyday life.
The craziest thing I remember my mom wearing in the 80's is blue mascara. My older cousin was a teenager in the 80's, and I hardly remember her wearing any make-up at all. To me, the look is more about hair and clothes, the crazy make-up was for music videos.
I remember wearing purple eyeliner sometimes, it was pretty bright. But I didn't like blue mascara. It was popular, though. If I wore eyeliner, it was black. And strictly black mascara. :)
The Body Shop has wonderful makeup. I loved their powders.
as someone who did my make up in 1988 . This tutorial reminded me , that almost all tutorials from any age are not based on your average person but professional. No one in the 80s used sponges and foundation brushes ( unless it came in the package) on the daily. We used our hands . Especially if you were young. We also usually used compact powder with the puff that it came with( it was far from translucent). The eyes shadow is dead on. If you don't have an eyelash brush , you can run your pointer finger back and forth under your eye and it will feather them very similar to an eyelash brush.

This was the 1980s makeup look for real. We weren't all in a Missing Persons music video or modeling high fashion. The 80s were not as bright and as out there as people think! 😊

It is so weird because I felt like all the stuff like putting highlighter onto ur cupids bow and inner eye corner etc were relatively new trends?? I had literally NO IDEA they did it in the 80s.
that person yep, been long the highlighter thing since the 80’s. Used to use a pallet by Rimmell, it was a trio of blush, bronzer and highlighter. Also, the biggest colour lipstick of part of the 80’s was Heather Shimmer by Rimmell lol

Ancient Egypt used similar techniques too.
Pretty much everything that is done now has been done in the past at some point or another. Only difference is social media is loud enough to claim credit for things other people started eons ago.

Mia River Rose As soon as I watched this I went to this 80s tutorial and watched the middle aged lady. I have that saved now and will watch it frequently. Love the look! I’ve spent most of my life with minimal makeup because I never had anything like the instruction available now.
I found this tutorial a long time ago and I sometimes just go watch it for fun. I love how soft and powdery she makes everything look.
I actually really like your result, especially the eyes - it has a sort of soft, romantic 'vampire' look. Like 'natural' make up in a gothic romance. Haha.
There was so much talc in our makeup, I think it was easier to achieve the 'haze', lol
I've watched that whole tutorial before and as someone who prefers more natural, simpler makeup it's honestly my favorite. Especially the skin and blush portion...I think all of that stands the test of time. You did a great job, too, and you're right that the color has everything to do with how "80s" it looks! 😂 But yes, this is a great tutorial for people like me who just want a basic, gimmick-free makeup look.

Purple and Pink is the most 80's color combination ever. I think you got it just perfectly.
When she says your eyes may be up to three or four different colours. Nope. Mine are brown and more brown.

Take a close up picture in daylight. I think you'll be surprised. I found rings of pale gold, spokes of red-violet, and charcoal around the edges when I saw a close up pic of my dark brown eyes. You just gotta get a ton of light into the eye to really discover the colors.
Agreed. Take a close pic using a camera flash and you'll be amazed at what colors and shapes are in your eyes.
They might be relatively similar, like a grey,copper,brown,red.
Same my eye color is DARK BLACK. When the sun shines directly in them they turn brown

Marissa Montefort I was born in 82 and I remember my grandmother having a vanity full of these products. I wish I could go back now and play in all her goodies now.

I matured in the late 80s, early 90s and I have hung on to many things I learned back then with my makeup. I think many of the beauty influencers of YT in a certain age range do not know that in the 80s, we were using "beauty blenders" with foundation, they were called sponges. We used concealer, but did not draw the huge triangles under the eyes and "bake" them, it was a much more natural look. And the best tip I got in the 80s was patting on the translucent powder and brushing away the excess, the result is a soft focus look that is almost like airbrushing. We did not use bronzer (I never have gotten the hang of that) just a diffuse soft blush for the most part. The extreme contoring seen today would have only been used with theatrical type makeup. While I love some of the latests eyeshadow techniques, I do them softly and keep a soft edge on my corners with my liner. The winged look is baffling to me, very harsh visually, as are the false lashes, again generally seen only with theatrical makeup back then. It is annoying to see people try to reproduce the 80s with dramatic slashes of awful color, the make up styles of today are far more dramatic than we ever did back then. What I adore about today is the amazing array of wonderful products, the fact that you can find out what someone else's experience was with it so easily, and that you can generally just buy it wherever you happen to be online! How amazing is that?! I am so lucky to have gotten the best of both worlds in my makeup-wearing lifetime 😊

I was talking about it with my husband yesterday and mentioned that with many of the You Tubers today, makeup is an all-or-nothing deal. Meaning that I see videos of girls without makeup quite a bit. Sometimes they are getting ready to try out a new product, sometimes it is a video about their skin, but I have occasionally heard them say, "I just wanted to talk about X and not bother putting makeup on". While I love that women are confident about videoing etc without makeup, it does not have to be a time consuming deal every time. My own make up daily is a 5-10 minute shot, even with some of the newer eyeshadow techniques I have learned.
Damn most of her ways are exactly like modern Korean makeup artists. This just could mean that old ways cannot be replaced yet
As a teenager of the 80's we wore brighter eye shadows than that. Purple, blue, green with some sparkle ( not alot). Blue eyeliner and blue mascara (or purple). Lipstick was some shade of pink to purple.
As a pre-teen/teenager from the late 80s, I can tell you that this is how makeup ACTUALLY looked. Don’t believe what you see in Hollywood! Great job! 😄💕
i actually watched this video a couple of years ago. i was a teen in the 80s. i wore electric blue eyeliner and mascara and it looked good. i always blended my blush well though. even back then, i knew it should not be streaked.

That 80's tutorial was really informative! I wish some UA-cam makeup tutorials were as in depth.
It amazes me how in our year, we cake on the makeup but the 80s have a very light and natural look.

I was a teenager in the 80's and that is pretty much how I did my makeup. Yeah, some girls wore heavier makeup but most of us didn't.
I'm sure it varied from person to person.
There was this new thing in the 80s called MTV where they played this other new thing called a music video. While I, and most of my crowd, went with a more natural look (except of course for the permed hair) *many* others tried to imitate what they saw on MTV...think Boy George or Robert Palmer's backup girls... and the results were sometimes stunning.
Too much makeup? Not invented by youtubers.

That's almost exactly how I did my makeup in the 80's. I have brown eyes so I used purple tones all the time. I only had one or two simple eye shadow palettes at a time back then, it wasn't at all like today! You did a good job getting an 80's look. If you wanted to look more dramatic or New Wave, you could wear lots and lots of bright blush - but I didn't do that every day, that was just for fun events like concerts.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. I loved being a teenager in the seventies and early eighties. It was the best of music, movies, styles, and simple pleasures...truly a wonderful era to come of age....I feel blessed.
I used to have Barbara Daly's book 'Daly Beauty' and learned how to do my makeup from that!
I’ve never heard about looking at the specks of different colors in your eyes, to indicate which color shades would be complimentary. That’s very interesting. Looking at how far we’ve come with makeup products and techniques, we can always learn something from the past. I loved this :). You’re look came out great by the way 🤗😍
This in my opinion is better than modern makeup tutorials. Using makeup to emphasize natural beauty is my preference, than trying to use makeup to change your face. Love this tutorial and will be using it in my makeup routine!

Oh my god, I remember those concealer sticks (in fact I had the body shop one!) they were horrible - you'd never use something so greasy under your eye these days, Yuck!!! I was so happy to get rid of them!
People always remember the big emphasis on colour in the 80's but it was nice to see a more everyday / less high fashion look
Yeah, my everyday eye look back then might be one bold color -- the purple, especially, but sometimes a green or pink -- but we weren't all wearing zig-zag stripes of neon across our faces to high school or anything.

Thank the Lord for liquid concealers! I could never apply stick ones correctly and ended up looking like a hot mess.
And they didnt work well at all! I got a horrible black eye (got hit in the face in practice and the whole socket plus the side of my face was NAVY) and even using almost half a stick trying to cover it you could STILL see the bruise through the concealer the next day.
I actually use the Maybelline one as a eye primer.

I’ve been using highlighter on my cheekbones since 9th grade. Which was 2003. When it got popular all my friends were like I thought you used to be crazy with all that shimmer on your cheekbones lol. Then they all hopped on.
Make up sponges have been around since the dawn of time. I was using highlighter and contour in the early 90s - it was often eyeshadow serving a double purpose.
I think its just becoming more accessible and affordable.
They are as old as warm water .
Highlighter was popular in the 70s too. It was all about structuring the face.

I was a teenager in the 80s and I had the best times of my life . I loved the clothes,hair and makeup and definitely the music so thank you for taking me back to my teens . This look suites you I haven't seen any look yet that doesn't .
You remind me of Paulina Poriskova...a supermodel from the 80's. She wore hair like yours and had big eyes like you. I wore my hair like yours and I still do. 80's hair wasn't always teased and sprayed....lol. The look is def. 80's but still wearable imo.

Her surname is pronounced “day-lee”. Does anyone remember the makeup line Barbara had in Tesco? I had a few items and they were quite nice. The line was discontinued almost 10 years ago now, just as people were starting to post beauty videos on UA-cam. I remember a cream blusher in particular that was beautiful.
The primer used to be amazing until it was reformulated.
I had a couple of the nail varnishes, they were great. I also had a couple of the brushes, which were amazing quality compared to what I had at the time!
I remember her Tesco range, the foundation was really nice

I am a first time viewer of your videos and am quite impressed! You are so nice and friendly. I love the concepts behind your tutorials, as well. As a '70s teen and a young adult in the '80s, the over-styled hair and over-done makeup was very much a part of the landscape, part of the party/disco looks. Punk was coming into vogue. However, there is always a naturalistic style of makeup for every generation and most of us stayed with that. Love the look you came up with!

In 1988 I was 16. I was very simple with my make up back then as I am now. Just base, powder, lipstick and mascara. Nothing outrageous... my mother taught me make up was to enhance what you already have.... If you put on so much makeup that when you take it off and dont recognize yourself.. then you are using too much.

Really enjoyed this. This is how I learned to apply makeup as a teen in the 80s. Not the loud, bright Madonna look. Glad to see the techniques still work. Even now when I try the “new” methods I tend to fall back on what I learned way back then. Timeless look really. Makes me smile.
I grew up in the 80s & 90s and I love so much about this video! I love how she says it's old-fashioned to draw a "tick" with eyeliner, I love how the loose powder comes in a talc container, I love how many times she says the word "surplus", I love how her voice and the music sound like educational videos from old science videos we used to have to watch, and I love the fact that i still have an old-style eyebrow powder brush from The Body Shop, like the one she used! The finished effect is lovely, I miss the golden days!

That part about not closing your eyes when you do eyeliner was such a help to me! I had never noticed the little puckers when I closed them. Now my eyeliner looks so much better!

As for pigments yes the older make up really didn't have as much as the ones today do. Some exceptions such as Estee Lauder always have had great pigments but too expensive for most people and not even common knowledge because people didnt know much about the different brands and how different the quality was , and why would they with no internet or you tube and you learnt by word of mouth or books at the library (which were often out of date showing old techniques lol) so you took the advertisers word for it and trusted that Revlon or Almay were the best and that the cheaper ones like Australis were ok to use but we didnt even know that some had more pigments than others or less quality - I guess we just assumed they were all the same, but as we know the quality can differ dramatically depending on not just the ingredients used but the quality of those ingredients too because you can source good talc for example or others with asbestos..

It was considered " outdated" to do winged eyeliner in the 80s!:) also we used a lot of peach/ apricot on the lips and cheeks. Great tutorial, you nailed the eye look!! ❤

Interesting fact, the founder of Anastasia actually did late legend R&B singer Aaliyah’s eyebrows. Aaliyah was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s before her death. While everyone else had thin brows, hers looked more modern like ours. You can google her and analyze them.

In the late 80s I was wearing a lot of black liner in my waterline. I remember warming it with a lighter b4 application in the girls bathroom in high school. Thick eyebrows (Brooke Shields) and several coats of mascara (sometimes blue) until my eyelashes looked like tarantula legs. I would apply lip gloss every few hours as well. Does anyone relate to the black goo that would collect in all the tears ducts of all the girls in school?

I was born in the early 80's and to be honest, I much prefer the look you've created via the tutorial, than the modern day look a lot of women wear. It looks more natural, enhances natural beauty, and is much prettier. But that's just my personal preference. And yes, you've given it a modern twist with your choice of colours, which isn't a bad thing!

I tried doing today's makeup looks and not only did it take me 3x longer to clean it off my face, but I looked & felt like a clown. I've been doing subtle, natural-looking makeup for about 20 years now, and I'm just gonna stick to it. I can't afford to use so much product, and it makes me break out when my makeup is so thick. :( Seeing this tutorial (especially given it's from the crazy 80's!!) made me hope other young girls & women will try it & stop clowning up.
Extreme makeup is fine for special events, but imo if you need to look like that just to pick up the mail or groceries, you definitely have issues lol. Hate me, idgaf 😇 I still look great without makeup & will keep on looking great because I don't spackle it on & ruin my skin.

Walgreens has this eyelash comb that's AMAZING. Shaped like......a curler on a stick but with teeth. Hard to explain. It's not a straight comb. It's amazing and like 3$!!!
Was loving the natural look in the beginning. Then you did your lips and was worried you went too far. Glad you mentioned it in the end that you used a lot of colors rather than peachy or pinky tones. But, then again, what do I know? I don't do make-up or wear any. I just like watching people put it on themselves.
Her lip color was extremely popular in the mid 90s. In 1993 I recall being in one of my college classes and my boyfriend at the time whispering, "That chick has brown lips!" regarding some other girl in my class. Fast forward a year or two and that color was everywhere!
No moisturizer , primer or color correctors before foundation. Especially primer, I'm screaming 😱😱😱😌😌
Makeup nowadays is more concerned with looking so flawless that it's a bit unnatural. I don't think there's anything wrong with the products you mentioned, but you may not need them depending on your skin! I use a moisturizing primer because I have drier skin but otherwise it depends on my skincare routine. For this tutorial, the goal is to look natural with some enhancements, so all of that may not be necessary
