      It depends what you are talking about. If you genuinely believe he didn't call that shot then ok, I see where you're coming from.
      My opinion is that he obviously did call it. And if I were his opponent in that situation and I genuinely didn't know whether he did or didn't.. I would take his word for it.
      Like I said ... I think it's clear he did call it.
      So... what is Jeff doing? Shady stuff that's what. He's trying to take advantage of the situation and he is the one playing not in the spirit of good sportsmanship.
      Therefore everything Mika does after that... I fully understand. How dare you question my ethics... when it is you playing shady.

    This goes to show that even some of the greatest pool players to ever play the game are only human, and that even the most Professional of players, have human emotions, and emotionally act out at times. Some of those calls by the Ref were just horrible too, and really did not need a replay, because they were clearly good hits.

    That ref that called a foul on Shane has been in so many arguments with other players including Sanjin Pehlivanovic. Also how did Karl foul when he was just trying to place the cueball it didn't look like he touched the two ball

    • @chili015
      @chili015 7 місяців тому +4

      The referee you're referring to is probably the best ref in the world. I remember the Sanjin situation very well during the 2023 CLP, where Sanjin broke from past the head string... the ref called a foul and then Sanjin proceeded to knock the balls on the table intentionally with his hand, causing a loss of rack and a warning, which was the correct call. As for the Karl situation, the ref thought Karl was using the cue ball to measure the gap between the 2 object balls, which you're not allowed to do. Karl said that's not what he was doing, that he was going to place the cue ball there to hit from, which is why the ref reversed his call and let him continue.

    • @justinbryson352
      @justinbryson352 7 місяців тому

      @@chili015 That same Ref called a bad hit in that other situation, when it was very clearly a good hit, and did not need a replay. I do not care how good of a Ref he is, he needs better eyesight, to see good and bad hits, because calling that particular hit bad was complete BS. And, yeah, I understand that he is a very famous person in the pool world. I just can't remember his name at the moment.

    • @chili015
      @chili015 7 місяців тому +1

      @justinbryson352 - You're talking about Marcel Eckardt, the German ref. The call on Shane was the correct call. It was close, but even Jeremy Jones in the original telecast ended up agreeing it was a bad hit because of how the cue ball reacted. I'm not sure how you can simply say he needs better eyesight when they all went and looked at the slow motion replay and still called it a foul.

    I'd LOVE to see a video of good sportsmanship. I know it's hard to find but it would be refreshing. I know there are tons of examples of players calling fouls on themselves. There's the one where no one heard SVB call an extension but his opponent backed him. There are some with Corey, Efren, and of course almost any of the women. And there are many you would not expect.. even Earl, Frost, Mika, and others who are known for being difficult can at times be good sports.

      I completely disagree. Yes, referees aren't professional pool "players", but they're professional pool "referees", so they know the rules better than anyone. And replay will tell you they are usually right WAY more than they are wrong... it's just that no one is making UA-cam videos about when refs get calls right, so it's magnified when they do get one wrong and then people think they're not any good. That's simply not true.

    You need to explain more explicitly what the issue is with each case, and afterwards what the result was. I stopped watching 75 % through your video because I was frustrated with trying to decipher what the issue was and the resultant result.

    Earl called the wrong ball against Jayson but it was obvious he was going for the 10, still shouldn't count though but man that got out of control.

    Earl Strickland is probably my least favorite pool player by far. Such an unsportsmanlike, whiny baby in every match I’ve seen him play.

      He could handle things much better but i will say that he is one hell of a player and I started playing pool when i seen him play on ESPN back in the day. I got to meet him in person and was able to take a picture with him :)

    The ref should've emptied out those balls honestly or Efren and Kaplan should've done a different shot to get to the 9 and hit less hard

    It's the player's responsibility to make sure there is enough room in the pocket they are shooting into. They can take balls out to make room if they need to.

    The Karl Boyes incident was the right call based on the intent of the rule. He was seeing if there was room to place the cue ball for the shot. But it's a dumb rule so it's best not to call it in that case and the ref did the right thing to reverse himself.

    Sorry, sir, I have to disagree. Pool has existed for far longer than the clips in this video. The oldest clip here is from 2006. "Of all time" is misleading. Also, not all of them have been recorded.

      Yes of course, you can disagree. But remember that sometimes we can't put recorded parts due to copyrights on UA-cam. For example I wanted to put on the first place Jeremy Jones time foul from Mosconi Cup🙏
