I agree, Efren's Z-shot was the absolute greatest! He HAD to make that shot, it was hill-hill and if he missed he'd have lost the tournament. Definitely the GOAT! Great video Thanks!
Efren is the goat. Every other highlight reel was a Efren miracle shot. humble and a great attitude win or lose. there should really be an award that honors his name
efren wasnt even in half of these and in his first "safety shot" it wasnt even a safety, he left his opponent clear shot of the ball, i really dont get why so many people lick this mans. behind,
Very well put together collection of shots. I was glad to see many shots here that I've never seen before, but from the time I clicked on this video I had hoped you placed the "magician shot" at number one...and you didn't fail to impress. From the moment he made that shot, everyone realized that in order to be the best in the future...they would have to find new ways to make their A-games even stronger. Efren Reyes sparked an evolution in pool that brought about so many of the unbelievable players we have the pleasure to watch today.
Another thing amazing about that last shot is Earl Strickland had a well deserved reputation back then as a sore loser and would fly off the handle about every little thing. But even he respected and applauded that shot. He later in became one Efren Reyes greatest supporters.
Not only did Strickland applaud the shot, he went to Reyes and raised up his arm as champion, conceding the match before Reyes took the last shot. Efren never shot the nine ball.
Great choices! In some pool has unlimited options, the only problem is that you have to envision the shot and then pull it off. Kudos to the asters on your selections.
Great video! Yes, the Z shot was the greatest shot ever attempted on a hill-hill match and still impresses me every time I see it. I have not seen anything like that again.
The Z-shot is still the best shot of all times because it's a hill-hill match. One mistake and you lose. He's opponent is Earl Strickland which is really great in pocketing.

Agree wid ds list. Z shot is still the goat pool shot. Hill hill finals. High pressure shot, this was like MJs last dance shot in terms of pressure. That number 4 was from another planet though. Meiling is awesome as well.
Guauu!!!!
Great selection. Thank you so much! Circumstances concerning one's career and the particular situation within the match and the tournament is of a great importance adding to the difficulty of a trick-shot. Considering Europe vs USA long lasting pool drama and the brilliance of Jimmie White's phenomenal 9-ball combination shot, I'm curious about the comments silence here. 100% positive about the "Magician" being ranked as number one. Probably some American folks still didn't know at that time Earl was playing against the best player ever and still wondered why the match was prized so high $$$s. The 8-ball game included at least 3 trick-shots. ;)
No Minnesota Fats or Willie Mosconi? I've seen them, and Efren is the best I have ever seen. Imagination in competition leads to excellence, and Efren has enough imagination for all of us! Nice Video.
Not only is the magician the best, but also notice him compared to most of these guys when they are successful. While most of the rest jump around, he remains humble and calm.
I can see these great players,, take these amazing shots when they are practicing or fooling around with friends…. But, in Professional games, that one mistake can change the outcome of the game,, taking these shots sound crazy to me,,!!👏👏🌷🌷🙏🙏
@@MrCueBallof course the individual shots have been recreated successfully but each of them require like 20-50 attempts. Thinking about making all of them with first try in a row in an actual competition is just ridiculous thing to accomplish 😅

when a player is humble enough to quietly acknowledge people recognizing him as G.O.A.T.....his name is Efren "Bata" Reyes...walang sigawan..just accept and tell its just a lucky shot...
Everyone has one great shot they remember. Playing in Santa Clara 8-ball bar pool championship round, team was down 8-4 in race to 10; snookered by other team's captain at end of table with one ball left, playing ball in hand with called shots. took cue ball off side rail, down to bottom rail, came off and hit object ball, which was at perhaps middle rack distance, kicked it off an opponent's ball and it sunk it in opposite corner at that end. Got lucky; had an easy shot on the 8. Our team came back, tied it up at 10-10, and went 3-0 in OT for the win. I could shoot that shot 1,000 times, and probably never make it again (the bar got fired up after that!).
Yes this was a perfect combination of shots but... In my opinion Efren did something absolutely epic. There are some important reasons. Electric battle with electric opponent. Special moment in match to play that shot (decider). The drama of this situation. And this shot especialy wins the title for him. #22,#9 Corey Deuel showcases cue power few people can reproduce. The other shots are awesome in the context of the game pressure but lower level can make them.
I tried to choose shots which are different than these which we see normally in tournaments. You know, a lot of spin, speed, rails... These shots are original. However I think that we can recreate all of these shots😅😎

The only lucky thing about the shot on the thumbnail is he didn't hit another ball on the way round, the player probably could see/work this out. The probability is probably around 12.5-14.3% if it was a fluke, and probably over 75% if the player could see the path was clear and the natural angle.

Chris Melling's game was the best game i ever saw and his last shot was in my opinion better then Reyes's Z-Shot. Not only did he miss all balls on the table but had also perfect position on black. Sorry not sorry 😀
