Preface: this is my opinion. You don't need to have God's priesthood authority to perform miracles. God is no respecter of persons. We see miracles in nearly every church throughout religious history. I think many people think miracles are the sign for truth - they are not. They are the result of faith. A loving God would not reasonably restrict miracles to only the Catholic church. So when I see people try to discredit miracles performed in other church's in order to feel better about their own faith, I believe they're basing their faith on the wrong things. Ask yourself, if miracles happen in other religious, does it make yours any less true?

You can perform miracles in Jesus name but in the end Jesus can say go away I never knew you. So not every miracle comes from God. Some miracle can be a trick from the evil one

What would the church ask of us? May we attend mass as a family? Would the church ask us to separate?... When we are raised in church to know the lord, but stray for a time and rediscover his love after a loving family has been formed, how do we recover? It's normal for a person to stray away from the church and her teachings. Later, you understand the church and study about faith and come back. But, after coming back into the church, we must make sure we stay faithful to her. We know we can't have two masters at the same time. It's like standing on two boats with each foot on each boat... we'll drown.

Though I agree in that the Church would ask for a chaste life, I wonder whether She would ask to separate or still be together--specially since one would have adopted children. That is exactly the problem with the argument. The Quran claims that it is a miracle because the words and letters are arranged beautifully and no human being can recreate it so it must mean that its from God. This can't help the Quran because the same thing can be said about Christianity and the bible which won't really help the Quran. If you look at the arguments for Christianity and the bible, you will see that no Christian apologist (as far as I know) makes an argument that Christianity and the bible is true because no humans can copy it. Arguments for Christianity and the bible are not like the arguments for Quran and Islam. Arguments for Christianity and the bible are strong and sensible.

David is not saying that the Quran is false because humans can arrange words in that order but, what he is saying is that if you're going to say that the Quran is from God because the words are beautifully arranged then it won't help the Quran because same thing can be said for other literatures. If you look at christian apologists, they don't say that the bible is true because the words in it was arranged in that order, its a silly argument to make so thats why christians don't use that argument for the bible. Instead, they use other arguments for the bible but not the arguments people use for the Quran.

Usmh Billal Yup thats a terrible argument because, anyone can produce verses like the Quran and people would believe it. Didn’t you hear David Wood? A guy back centuries ago tested this and wanted to find out if people would be able to distinguish a verse from the quran or not. So after someone narrated the quran, he would then start narrating a fake quran verse and see if people would notice, and in the end he was able to make up his own quran and muslims would believe. And yes THERE SO MANY contradictions in the quran. And yes there are verses where it says that the bible is the word from God. He said it to moses and to the disciples in the old testament and new testament.

You guys didnt understand the linguistic challenge of the Quran. The Quran talks about Muhammad pbuh splitting the moon in front of the Arab idolators. Plus the hadith come from multiple chains of narrators to determine what Muhammad pbuh said. If you apply the same standard on the gospel of Luke it would be deemed as a weak hadith.

That story is in the hadith, not the quran, there is verse in the quran mentioning something about the moon but how can you get something first from the hadith then try affirming it to the quran and not getting it from the quran first then seeing hadiths affirm it.
and in that passage in the hadith for that miracle, did muhammed have any mentioning of it being his sign or was there any context given.

No one claims the night journey to Jerusalem and his ascension through the heavens was a vision except a tiny minority of people much later on.
It has always been understood as a physical journey as all the narrations regarding it show.
The hadith have existed since the time of the prophet and his companions, many such as Abu Hurraira had collections written down during his life time and they were absorbed into later collections, and unlike the Christian gospels, we know who narrated every single hadith, we can trace them back to the source.
The same cannot be said of the gospels written by anonymous authors decades after the facts occured, and whom never even met Jesus. So David is in no position to be casting aspertions on Islamic sources.
David is being very deceitful throughout the entire video, making claims that commentaries say this or that without any actual proof, of which there is none because none of authorative commentaries support any of the absurd claims he is making.
@Peasant Scrublord Hadith were written down by companions of Prophet Muhammad during his life time like Abu Hurraira, Anas Ibn Malik his servant, Ali and many more. They had their own collections, which were passed down and incorporated into later collections.
And no, many of them are not of "debateable" authenticity.

Uh. That is what the whole field of "the sciences of hadith" exist and we have authentic collections i.e the main 6, plus all the others, as well as entire books deidcated just to the weak and fabricated narrations

What is weak and fabricated, we also know and they have their own seperate collections which are not used at all as far as our religion is concerned.
Our hadith have far more authetnicity than any of the Christian gospels, because we can trace every narration we have to its source, we know who they people are, and a detailed biography of every single person that ever narrated a hadith.
Gospels don't even reach that level.

I said that which is authentic number in the 10s of 1000s and that consists of all the mainstream collections we have like Bukhari, Muslim, Musnad of Ahmad, Muawtta of Imam Malik, Sunan Abu Dawood, Nasai, Tirmidhi etc
What is weak and fabricated might be large in number too but they are seperated in their own collections that consist of weak or fabrications and are not used in our religion for anything.

Entire volumes of books exist among scholars of hadith that are dedicated solely to the biographies of every single known narrator of hadith in great detail.
We know about their lives, who their teachers were, where they travelled, what other scholars said about them, how good their memory was which was also tested by scholars of hadith, their manners & character as attested to by those that knew them.
Did they ever meet the people they claim to have heard the hadith from, did they accurately relate what they heard and so on and so on.
The sciences of hadith is a huge field of study to the authentication of hadith.
Everything can be verified. We know the scholars of hadith, we know everything in great detail.
The gospels cannot be traced back to Jesus' time let alone his apostles. it cannot be proven anything in the gospels we have now were ever said by Jesus as is claimed. They are rife with contradictions
The gospels are by unknown authors that lived at the very earliest several decades after Jesus died., there were so many gospels circulating at the time and were only codified centuries later and all others were destroyed.
If we used the standard by which we authetnicate hadith on the gospels, every single Gospel would be tossed out as fabrications.

So basically was a mohammad was a con artist self published author that came up with a story and got someone else to write it, he couldn’t check if it was right as he couldn’t read or write. And then sold it as the word of God incorruptible and couldnt prove any form of divinity or purity in any way. Even Moses was able to do some unbelievable things like splitting the sea to get his people across and Noah built a gigantic ship with only his sons given the power to complete it by God. I Iisten to your sermons daily & most of the times it's interesting! Today you said that some Christians hide themselves in convents to avoid persecution, etc. Truly, what you said is NOT right. Monks & Nuns do lots of WORK: teaching at the Catholic schools, working at churches, visiting hospitals & families, visiting prisoners, working with the homeless and doing missionary work, to name a few.
Also, they pray & sing daily for 5 hrs - & they rise very early to pray. St. James said that prayers of true Christians bear lots of fruit (James 5).
Frankly, God will judge us for whatever we say & do; the Gospel says that our work will follow us for eternity. I hope you will correct this misconception & apologize to your listeners. I believe that those who apologize for their mistakes are honest and brave people. And the first 12 Disciples made many mistakes especially during the first 3 years and the Lord corrected them each time as He often does with me.
