I just built a Mollegabet bow out of Red Oak which is 50 lbs @ 26" and I'm not backing it since the non-static part of the limbs are pretty thick & 95% of the wood grain does run the entire length of the bow. It's on my channel if you ever want to see it. That Pyramid design looks awesome, and you did an unbelievable job on it! I hope it brings you years of fun shooting arrows. God bless you and your family!
Ill def check it out. Unfortunately it ended up developing stress fractures after about 800 arrows. I had bad spot in my tiller Unfortunately. I learned a lot. Going to start on my next build. This time from a stave. Thanks for watching
Also I want to mention that if you slice your rough broad into layers and then glue the strips of wood back together in layers it should give longer life over time of flexibility stress. You may have to check for a wood glue that will also stand up to the flexibility 💪
Thanks. Yeah I know most bowyers use tite bond. I'm sure I'll be making more then enough bows that is one or 2 breaks it wont be the end of the world lol
Nice bow 👍
Thanks!
That's amazing! So cool seeing you make this and then get to shoot it!
