I have a few questions. I have some red oak logs but they weren't dryed a certain way but rather they have been sitting outside exposed to the weather for over a year does that affect if it's usable for bow making? How long was the piece of wood in the video (asking cause it looked longer than the logs)? Would it be possible to use a piece of wood that is shorter and still get this length bow? What all tools would I need? How many pieces of wood do you think I could get out of a 28 inch diameter log? How much time did this take you? How much time do you think this would take someone if it was their first time making a bow? What wood would you recommend for a first timer? Is there a way to make this a 40 lb bow? Would you recommend making your first bow or buying your first bow? What was it that you put on the bow after you were done with the shaping? Where would I go to buy the leather pieces? Sorry for all the questions. I'm really interested in making a bow!
What exact measurement of the bow limb goes into the steaming pot to get these nice reflexed tips ? I didn't find any details about heat treating in ur ebook, maybe it's in another one.
Oii uma dica, talvez se voce pegar um garfo de material bem duro e serrar o cabo dele deixando so as pontas, voce consegue fazer quatro furos de uma so vez no couro!
Very nice bow. I started making bows about a year ago I make 3 now. Now I want to try to make a recurve bow. What are your measurements and how long to boil the tips before bending it ? Thank you 👍🏻

❤Love the vid!! Is that an Ash wood?
Very wonderful job excellent, but please what is the thing that you put the bow in and grabbed the rope many times??
I think you mean a tillering tree.

Glad to hear that, good luck with your builds! This was approx 175cm ntn. I steam (not boil) tips for 30-40 minutes
@@DreamcraftBowsoh ok it’s steamed not boiled. Thanks a lot man 👍🏻
Where do you get wood like this? Is there a red oak distributor?
Amazing love the channel!! Can you please make a video on how to make a bow string. Also what is the name of your knife from the last video??
Thank you 🙏🙏 I alredy have such a video "How to make a simple bow string" or smth like that. I got this knife from here: sharpasfknives.com/
Thank you so much man for always responding I really appreciate it !!!
How long did you allow the end to soak/sream?
30-45 minutes
@@DreamcraftBows my first attempt failed…it splintered as I was attempting the bend. Perhaps the wood was too thick to bend. I guess it was 5/8”!
Nice
Thanks 👊
Muy bieno
