Some plugins are also pretty bad at performance and will eat up CPU fast like Analog Lab, which always seems to max out my CPU even when using multi core options. Freezing tracks is such an overlooked solution!
absolutely, plugs like soothe, diva, etc really use up a lot, Ive recently got an i9 laptop and all that has resolved itself, but yeah otherwise freezing is the way to go!
Do you know some synth/keys plugins for live sets instead of analog lab? I'm building my presents using analog lab and it is maxing out my CPU all the time...
Hello, thank you for this video but I come to you because I unfortunately have a problem with Live 11 that I cannot resolve. I'm running on a MAC Intel i7 16 GB of RAM and 512 SD and I recently had to download free plugins, and since then there is an unexplained CPU overload every time I launch a project in Live 11 (plus a project composed mainly of audio loops created in Maschine 2 that I generally use as plugins for my beats, but I'm used to doing heavier sessions than that I've always managed, in fact it's even my workflow , I even did an update of the mac but nothing, so I uninstalled all the free plugins that I had just downloaded, I have the impression in the CPU view that my mac is working hard in an unexplained way, I am therefore obliged to abandon live 11 the DAW according to my heart to fall back on another Daw in which there is not as much CPU overload, I don't know if you understand a little of what is happening to me, it's to say if you see what is happening because I understand absolutely nothing about it except that I suspect of having caught a Trojan horse (bitcoin) but I try to launch cleanmymac but it does not see anything, so if you can explain to me a little what is happening...please help me
Hey sounds like a lot of trouble. I don't think your problems are related to ableton. I would see a mac specialist and try to sort out the problems that way first. All the best.
@@vxd i found it now , i'm using i7-13700hx , 25 tracks , 5-6 of them are Serum , and it make my laptop so slow . i found the problem to my issue is because of the master channel , there are Bus Comp , Q3 , MB , L2 but it held my PC speed down alot , i shouldn't master my track in the process of making , i should master it in new project with zero plugin on the other channels
another thing you can do is use an ableton stock plugin for mastering like the stock limiter, it uses far less CPU resources, but you can use it when your making the song. I like mastering when I make my track, it helps a lot. Anyway, when your done, you can replace the stock limiter with your desired master chain. put the chain into a group, so you can switch it on or off with one click in case you need to go back and make changes. For Serum, using a lot of FM modulations really pushes the CPU, you can change the quality settings of Serum to draft mode, that really reduces CPU, and when you want to render, increase the quality settings again. If you use any UHE plugins, its the same concept, you can reduce CPU usage simply by changing to draft mode and selecting multithreading.
Wow. I discovered something rare these days. A video that is short, to the point, is useful and informative. I'm subscribing!
Thanks for sub and the kind words 🙏
Thank you man! :)
Happy to help!
