I've done everything you said in this video but it doesn't work. I can't run my session in my old Macbook late 2015 and that's why i bought a Mac Studio M2 MAX but it's been a nightmare... I can't work for more than 3 minutes and then ableton 12 crashes. I made another session from scratch, change and eliminate plugins and nothing works. I e-mail Ableton and send em the report file of course, but please could ANYONE HELP MEEEEE??!!! 😭😢😥
update: they literally never got back to me after 2 years. tried their crash(at) ableton email, general support and even some comments on social media (to those they reply some generic answer) I spent 6k on a m1pro 2 years ago and bought all my plugins, no crack. turns out my cracked live9 on my old 2015 mbp with cracked plugins was the best shit I ever had. I keep hearing from professionals that ableton shat the bed regarding efficiency vs performance cores on m1 and most ppl don't know about that.
This is exactly what happened to me. A super mysterious "sample offline" problem, even though all my samples were right there in the set, that basically destroyed more than half of my sampler devices I'd built. Didn't work dragging them into a new set, I've had to rebuild every device again from scratch and it makes me want to never use Ableton again!! ahhhh!!
I got a free copy of the lite version and I’m using it on an M1 MacBook Pro. My initial response was I love this program. It’s awesome. Then it started hijacking my mouse cursor very constantly. I click something and then I can no longer on click it either in Ableton Note or any other program on my Mac. It’s infuriating. Absolutely infuriating what a blow to the workflow. If I knew there was a solution I might even upgrade but I can’t handle this.
Hello how are you? For some reason Live is not saving what im doing to it; Its not saving any changes i'm making to the set. example: i change a bunch of parameters and the volume of each track, then save the set, then load it, and it loads the old set before the changed were made. thanks
What can you do to get the preview instruments/ files etc if it stops working. For some reason i could click on a clip to preview it before I commit and now it doesn't work. Any help would be great thanks
as soon as im almost done wiht a project it will just magically start crashing every 15 minutes and i have to rebuild the entire fucking thing. I HATE this program
You know what the fucked up thing is, I go to another daw and i dont have these problems. If there is a plugin thats not right or updated, that actually doesnt crash the daw, because it was designed to handle that. Ableton is blaming their issues on specs of the users when the same user are going to other daws with the same specs and not having an issue, I think someone needs to take notes.
Very well said. Specially POINT 7!!!!! Also the manufacturers of the plugins are always helpfull!. I had personal help from the biggest names in the music business. Imagine, they made pluginjs that made lots of people extremely rich... So they're mostly very passionate to help you out! And let's not forget... how many users have even a clue of how the entire DAW or Plugin works... And don't forget that you also depend on a computer.... Subscribed!
@@fromstudiotostage I had the same thing though not a "biggest name in music." He was the Scandinavian president of a company that makes Ableton Plugins. Ableton had corrupted my 'gens' files, lol for a certain keyboard. The President sent me a new set of gens files because it was a legacy keyboard. Without those files the entire SET was corrupt.

thanks for the tipp , disabling the vst folders let me discover it was an arturia synth not allowing to open a project.
I noticed that Antares plugins are finicky. The only plugins I have that crash the set.

I am pinpointing the problematic plugin that causes the crash by removing one by one and see if it crashes again. That is painful
What are your thoughts on plugin sandboxing? Why hasn't Ableton implemented this? It seems Bitwig is far more stable.
Its laughably bad. You wouldn't be able to sell a product like this in other realms of consumerism.

Every time in midi track the instrument knob jumps to zero at the same time midi information blinks from yellow to blue why ?
No mention of how to read the crash logs? would be useful as they are quite unclear to me.
Ableton's support has access to those and will tell you what's wrong!
