Fabfilter PRO4 is out! First Look.
Get it here - bit.ly/Pro-Q4
Out of nowhere Fabfilter ProQ4 has come out! I thought Q3 was the best EQ on the market, but this takes it to another level!
Mixing and mastering features
Pro-Q 4 offers everything that a demanding engineer could wish for: top-quality linear phase operation in addition to the zero latency and unique Natural Phase modes, smooth dynamic and spectral EQ, per-band mid/side processing, full surround support (up to Dolby Atmos 9.1.6), an intelligent solo feature, optional Auto Gain and a built-in, fully customizable spectrum analyzer.
Sculpt your sound
Effortlessly sculpt your sound
FabFilter Pro-Q 4 is designed to help you achieve your sound in the quickest way possible. Via the large interactive EQ display, you can add or sketch bands where you need them, enable dynamic EQ for any band, and select and edit multiple bands at once.
Unique features like Spectrum Grab, Full Screen mode and EQ Match will speed up your workflow even more. Try it yourself!
Goodies!
FabFilter goodies
Of course, you also get all the usual FabFilter goodies: perfectly tuned knobs, interactive MIDI Learn, undo/redo and A/B switch, Smart Parameter Interpolation for smooth parameter transitions, an extensive help file with interactive help hints, sample-accurate automation, advanced optimization and much more.
Instance List
All your Pro-Q 4 instances in one interface
With Pro-Q 4, you can control any other plug-in instance in your session from a single interface, easily navigating the list by filtering, pinning and zooming as desired.
You will discover that the Instance List is a huge time-saver, making it much easier to setup initial EQing when starting your mix session.
Spectral dynamics processing
Precise treatment of problem frequencies
In Spectral dynamics mode, Pro-Q 4 doesn't change the gain of the whole band, but triggers per specific frequency within a band when it exceeds the threshold, leaving other frequencies untouched. This is a great way of treating varying problem frequencies.
Typically, you would need a separate and often complex plug-in for this type of processing, but Pro-Q 4 makes the process simple to use and easy to understand, as a natural extension of normal dynamic processing.
EQ Sketch and usability
Just draw the curve you need
Setting up initial EQ settings in an equalizer often involves adding a few general bands to get started, like a low cut filter, a few bell filters and a high shelf, creating a general starting point.
Wouldn't it be great if you could draw that curve in one gesture? Well... now you can with EQ Sketch!

If they play at the same time, then why just don’t cut the lower frequencies of the snare? They would overlap anyway and you won’t be able to hear snare’s low end, while intoducing delay will affect the groove…

    • @vxd

Agree on both suggestions, it's just a technique. Cutting frequencies might not be the sound the producer wants, but it's obviously an option.

usually transients are the loudest element, but your right, too many non transient elements layered over each other at the same time (classic example is vocals, strings, leads, guitars - can make the song sound "muddy"). But as its not a beat per se, you need other ways to get them out of each others way, 1. remove, 2. pan, 3. EQ, 4. duck

Synthesizer V is the way to go, no wait on re-rendering new stuff, can fully work offline, no awkward plosives and sibilance work, it all sounds way more natural, you can automate basic stuff like "smoothness, stability..." you don't need a PHD in vocal coaching to understand what's going on, well... it's so much better in every way. @ with recording midi clips from the séquencer its possible but it broke the loop of the séquencer and his évolution . I Ve got many hardware séquencer and saving pattern is a crucial thing to recall them in live I dont know why they dont implement this on that seq séries 😅

    • @vxd
      @vxd 14 днів тому

@@memorandum7006 you can press "R" or Auto to restart on bar. Also, you have the (easy) option of recording the midi to a new track and saving that. I know that's probably not what your asking for. I just finished a video for a M4L step sequencer which is "insane" and you can save the steps too (I forgot to demonstrate that part actually, but I'm pretty sure you can do it.). Dude... it's exactly like magic! Time to resurrect soulful house with AI-generated R&B vocals. Finally, someone's putting the 'soul' back in soulful house - even if it took a robot to do it lol

Tutorials with stock instruments and plugins are so hard to find! Everyone is telling me: you dont need plugins to start. But all tutorials use lots of expensive plugins. I just want to copy soi can learn and practise. So thank you for your video! Im searching for more videos like this on your channel :)
