What do you mean by no drug route with various methods & natural remedies? Biotin, Minoxidil, Finasteride, Dutasteride, Saw Palmetto, Ketoconazol are all supplement products for hair care and growth routine - You are dependent on medication! Please explain your health, dietary and stress changes Tom Peat. It seems you've achieved healthier, fuller, and more luscious hair through legal pharmaceutical drugs.
I think often times an under rated way to increase medication adherance, especially when it's something as annoying as massaging a liquid into your hair twice a day. Is providing instant feedback aswell as long term results. What does that mean? Using chemicals that temporarily swell the shaft of the hairs to give you that "wow this stuff is working right away" feeling. Aswell as providing the clinically significant effects through minoxidil and finasteride over the long term.
I have not used any shampoo, soap, or anything else on my head for more than a decade. I am 60. I have lost most of my hair in the last 10 years. I don't really care. Just adding to the conversation.
I haven't used shampoo or conditioner for at least 20 years, 54 now and have a full head, tiny bit of temple recession but pretty Mint Hair line. Should also mention I don't use any styling products. Pretty much have Gq style hair.
I started on minoxidil but after a few month my scalp reacted badly to it and had to stop. Now I'm using a red light cap, which is working but is very slow. I eat pumpkin seeds every day.
I been I minoxidil since 1989 it did prevent further losing my hair for growth a little put it did prevent the Mr clean look. I stop just recently and didn’t lose what I contained.
In the past, 7 years ago when I was 25 years old, with 1 ml of minoxidil a day I had the same result as in this video. Everyone asked me if I had a transplant. After 3 years, the effectiveness of minoxidil dropped to 80% and I ended up being the same as at the beginning and even worse.
From my belief the only thing that plays a big role in hair health is self-esteem. In my personal experience I've had some huge ups and downs with my hair and personal path and with myself getting better also my hair would get better. I had extremes of loosing a large portion of my hair (with a circle on the top/back part of my head completely bold) to having grown hair on areas that I never had before. The same happens with the gray hairs. They come and go. Literally. I'm 47 and don't color my hair.
I used to do minoxidil 3 times a week, not even every day and had amazing results. It's a really good drug, I only wish we could have it in tablets as it does irritate the skin unfortunately.
I was using topical minoxidil for years and found my hair was still thinning. As i noticed it was thinning i noved to manual minoxidil oral... and i feel as though that really hasn't worked at all. Is manual minoxidil as good as a chemist bought oral minoxidil?? I really need some advice
So I bought your shampoo and conditioner, and have one suggestion...seal the bottles. They can easily be opened and tampered with unless they are sealed. Also, they could end up leaking during shipping which is another good reason they should be sealed under the screw top.
Is it possible to get good results with topical Finasteride Only? I don’t want to take it internally. I have male pattern baldness happening in the front and my understanding is that Minoxidil is for hair regrowth at the back of the head only. In fact it says that right on the box! I don’t want to waste my time or money on something that doesn’t work.
Getting the shampoo and hair mousse from feel confident today! Do each have to be used daily or is 3-5 days ok with zinc pyrithione and ketoconazole the other 2-4 days?
I've been using feel confident shampoo for the last month and it feels really good on the scalp and leaves the hair very soft but manageable. I'm still waiting a couple of more months to see the thickness and grown of my hair. Pretty good so far.
I've been willing to take monoxidil in oral form for years, but too concerned about the side effects. I wonder how safe it is and the initial dosage. I've been taking dutasteride for 5 years now and strange as it may sound, every time I stop taking it, my libido goes down, contrary to what you'd expect as a side effect. It makes me no sense to me at all! I've started applying castor oil on the balding areas. It does help yes.
The side effect I’m concerned about with finasteride is gynecomastia sine I’ve had surgery for it already. I rarely see anyone give this side effect any attention which IMO is the scariest one 😓 how likely is recurrence on finasteride? 🙏🏻
So if you had a gynecomastia cut out, what are you worried about? After this operation, a new one cannot develop, unless you have been left with some part, it's just that in all countries they do it differently, somewhere they cut it out completely, and somewhere they leave a part from which gynecomastia can develop again, but it's unlikely, even if you feel that you have begun to develop, just stop taking fin, it will either it will pass by itself or you can drink tamoxifen, if the gyno only begins within 3 months, or maybe I don't remember more, you can solve the medication issu
Castor oil or hair growth oil. Highly recommend Grow gorgeous drops. My previously thinning hair has now been declared thick & healthy by my stylist. Rub the drops into the scalp after washing & hair grows quickly & is now shiny ✨
@@shelleykapp9637 I’ve not actually used that in my hair, but it’s fixed my dry eyes & is amazing for skin, eyelashes & eyebrows growth. The growth oil has made a huge difference. I think the castor is ok to rub into the scalp alone or with coconut or almond oil, it’s just really hard to remove from the hair. The growth oil is used after washing & just left as is. You can also use rosemary oil before washing or overnight on scalp.
Finasteride Side Effects: I have been on finasteride for 4 years. Hair grew in the back of my head. Each year, however, my hairline recedes a bit more. After 1.5 years of taking finasteride at the 1 mg level 4x a week with no side effects. I decided to incorporate dutasteride. I had literally had no side effects for finasteride, excepts my balls hurt for a month. Dutasteride Side Effects and Results: I added dutasteride of .5 mg 1x per week. After 6 months, my hairline grew back, and the hairs were so thick, I thought was 20 years old. It was great. I thought I could take dut forever. This new hair growth came at a cost. I started to get deep pimples that took 3 to 4 weeks to heal on my face. Then giant pimples appeared on my body , and they left bad scars. My body started to look like a zit farm. Also, the taste of meat went from normal to metallic. I couldn't eat chicken, pork, or beef without feeling nautious. Chicken started to have this metallic taste of iron-- you know if you ever have consumed cooked liver. Yuck!! Also, I would get deep pimples from eating meat and sometimes a boil right around upper thigh near the scrotum. Dutasteride affects your liver and kidney, so this was probably how my body metabolized it. Not great though. Eventually, I made a decision that I wanted a clear face than a full head of hair. Deep pimples taking weeks to heal on your face sucks, plus these pimples left scars. So I decided to go off dutasteride and all the hair that regrew on my hairline disappeared, but so did the metallic taste of meat and all my pimples scars have disappeared and I never get deep pimples or boils anymore. So the dustateride caused my body develop deep pimples and the metallic taste of meat. I would strongly encourage people to take finasteride and then if no results go to dutasteride, but remember dutasteride can some weird side effects. In conclusion, always take the less potent version of a medicine first and then move onto more powerful medicine, if the first treatment isn't working. Also, I am still on finasteride and I will take this medication until I die. It works great for me with no side effects.
@@bluereef9530 well, my libido is not where it used to be after being on fin for 2.5 years now. I can get hard, but the libido is what fell off. I don't crave sex anymore and i'm just never horny. hi dr gary, great videos thank you. what do you think about taking creatine and the increased production of DHT? is there any proof that the creatine supplementation increases hair loss?
I did use biotine years back, also the 10 000 mcg. But I stopped it because my nails grow so fast it made me nuts. I needed to cut my fingernails about 4 times a week, that was insane. My finger nails grow kinda fast naturally (need to cut my fingernails 1 to 2 times a week) , but it also repaired a nail injury that I got 25 years ago. I crushed my finger 25 years ago and since then the fingernail on that finger always split/rip in the midle. But after 1 month of biotine it was gone. And it stayed away ever since even when I stoped the biotine, wel occasionally it still splits but that is very rare (with the biotine it never split and the nails were very strong). Oh yeah and another side effect was acne, so that sucked..
Yes. Hair transplant will replace the lost, DHT sensitive hair, with DHT resistant hair, but the remaining DHT sensitive hair will continue to recede and die if you don't take finasteride - as if you had done nothing.
And you should do machine micro needling as well because that aids in preventing miniaturization of hair. Which is separate form DHT even if DHT also attack the hair. If you have lost hair in the front, your transplanted hair with be healthier, but get the same issue over time. Therefor micro needling via machine, not roller (damage the skin, needles get dull, the rolling effect makes the needles go in at an angle etc) and other should be considered. Oral minoxidil helps as well here. So does/can PRP treatment, which is very expensive. All of these are focused on getting nourishment to the hair. Minoxidil increases blood flow (gets more of the PRP stuff via regular blood). Needling does micro damage that incentives the body to increase blood flow to the area. PRP is taking your blood, adding separation fluid and putting it in a centrifuge to separate blood and plasma (nourishment). The latter is added to a needle and injected at multi points into the scalp. DHT meds aid in reducing it and its negative impact on hairloss, but often is not not enough to only do this. What rich people do: 1. Anti miniaturization. Micro needling. Cheap Minoxidil. Cheap PRP. Very expensive. 2. Anti DHT Finasteride (block one type, less expensive) Dutasterid (block two types, more expensive). Finasteride is cheap if you use Proscar and pill divider. Dutasterid costs the same as Propercia. 3. Hair transplant. Transplant + above and you get more hair to your lost locations while using treatment to make it last. Very expensive. 4. Shampoo etc. Using less harmful shampoo. Can be cheap or costly. After work, get in the shower and remove all hair products and so on with regular water and air dry you hair. You do this when you are not doing anything else that day of course. Free (aside from water cost).
Your transplanted hair is more resistant, but your natural hair will still fall if you don't take medication, doctors say to take them until you are 53 years old, not sure why that age. Something about dht not being an issue anymore then
@@Snake369 DHT resistant hair is actually a myth. You take your back hair, fertile lands, and place them to the front, less fertile land. You need to use treatment to keep both transplanted and natural hair. It is just that the transplanted hair starts at "age 15" on the front. It therefor seems like it is resistant, but in reality it is not. If you transplanted hair before puberty. It is very likely that you would lose the transplanted hair at the same rate. Most "resistant" research is only like 3 to 5 years tops... You have have hair for decades.

I have male pattern baldness which is obviously unsettling, and have been trying a number of things, none of which are working (although I started oral minoxidil 2 months ago, hopefully that helps and does something), one thing I’ve been unable to tolerate though is finasteride, both oral and topical as it caused me depression and anxiety. My brother has male pattern baldness like me. He was able to tolerate finasteride and has been on it for 3 years now, and it looks like he never lost any hair at all. My brother is 2 years younger than me, and we have similar hair loss and obviously similar genes as we are brothers. Are there any other DHT blockers that have shown efficacy like finasteride, that may not cause depression and anxiety like did it for me? Any help or input would be appreciated. Thanks
If you use minoxidil (alongside finasteride) to regain some growth then stop it and carry on with just finasteride will the minoxidil growth reverse or will the finasteride keep the growth?
I have taken oral fin and minixidil for about 10 years starting in my early 20s. It worked well in stabilizing my hairnloss and maybe grow a year and a half of loss back. I still had a thinner apot but i didn't really care because slightly thin hair was better than none. Then ive stopped for two or three years because it was expensive where i live and i liked my bald look. If you dont like your bald look, i can highly recommend scalp micro pigmentation sone by a professional. You cant use it with topical meds until its fully healed though. Now that fin is available topically, i got my hair cut really short and use it with Minoxidil and rosemary.
I've been taking finasteride and oral minoxidil for over 5 months now, it's not exactly a night and day difference for me so far, but my understanding is that I might see more dramatic results at 1 year plus. After a year I might look into switching from finasteride to dutasteride and maybe up minoxidil from 2.5 MG to 5.

I wonder if Regaine will work for women? On fingernails? I’m 60 and I loose hair. I do take some vitamins, especially vitamin B supplements. It actually seems to work a bit. But it’s not my hair I’m worried about, but my fingernails. They never were strong or thick , but now they’re so thin that especially the pinky finger nails crack lengthwise before they grow out. It can become rather painful, and all kinds of lotions and ointments doesn’t help at all. FYI my mom and sister have the same problem, so it’s probably congenital.
I’ve heard of people getting sexual side effects even just from using topical Finasteride & Saw Palmetto which never really made sense. However what you say about it getting into the bloodstream being the main way that it blocks DHT whether orally or topically does make it make sense.

I love the red beard but it’s too much. I agree he needs to trim it. I have a son with a red beard. It’s short.

Minoxidil may give some people really bad headaches and nausea. It did for me, it was a raging migraine each time I used, I had to stop.
i already have random headaches but its been ,6 months on minoxidil gotta carry on ig
Same. I had to stop also because I couldn’t take the migraines anymore.
Topical minoxidil has raised my liver enzyme and caused itching all over my body even months after stopped it. Twice i tried with gaps of years yet same results. It did grow my hair each time
I get unbearable migraines because I was mixing mine with rosemary. I would wake up to headaches in the morning and it would fade away as soon as I wash the min and rosemary out.
I have been doing dermaroll 1.5mm; Costco Minoxidil 5% liquid and Minoxidil 2.5mg split in half once a day (oral) and I can tell that it's working.
Get a micro needle pen and use just 0.6m
Be careful with needling and putting drugs into your scalp you may regret it

What do you mean by no drug route with various methods & natural remedies? Biotin, Minoxidil, Finasteride, Dutasteride, Saw Palmetto, Ketoconazol are all supplement products for hair care and growth routine - You are dependent on medication! Please explain your health, dietary and stress changes Tom Peat. It seems you've achieved healthier, fuller, and more luscious hair through legal pharmaceutical drugs.
Doc, you Rock!!!
If hair loss is due to aging then why some people have full hair on the head despite aging?? Why follicles on the scalp just miniaturize?
I just ordered your shampoo and conditioner. Thank you, Dr. Gary, you're the best!!!!
Hair transplant clinics will sometimes do that with fiber. I'm fine with it if they inform the patients
Does this video also for women hair loss or just men?
Is your shampoo and conditioner for women as well?
I have not used any shampoo, soap, or anything else on my head for more than a decade. I am 60. I have lost most of my hair in the last 10 years. I don't really care. Just adding to the conversation.
You'd be surprised when you're sick how a good head wash can feel trust me.
What did he take and what maintenance did he use?
I been I minoxidil since 1989 it did prevent further losing my hair for growth a little put it did prevent the Mr clean look. I stop just recently and didn’t lose what I contained.
Did he strengthen remaining hair?
In the past, 7 years ago when I was 25 years old, with 1 ml of minoxidil a day I had the same result as in this video. Everyone asked me if I had a transplant. After 3 years, the effectiveness of minoxidil dropped to 80% and I ended up being the same as at the beginning and even worse.
Love your show..so informative ❤
How often should I wash my hair, if using your shampoo and conditioner?
Glad both videos are out there. Thanks for the infos
Minoxidil which is better liquid or foam?
From my belief the only thing that plays a big role in hair health is self-esteem. In my personal experience I've had some huge ups and downs with my hair and personal path and with myself getting better also my hair would get better. I had extremes of loosing a large portion of my hair (with a circle on the top/back part of my head completely bold) to having grown hair on areas that I never had before. The same happens with the gray hairs. They come and go. Literally. I'm 47 and don't color my hair.
I've heard that Finasteride 1mg tabs stop working after 5 years - something to do with your body getting used to it - is that true?
Found this video hard to follow
Just summarize what needs to be done in a minute round up
Hi Doctor Gary. Is it normal to get hair loss after hernia surgery. Just my hair has really thinned out after surgery. Many thanks.
Minoxidol can cause very bad itching like it did to me and its extremely expensive.
I used to do minoxidil 3 times a week, not even every day and had amazing results. It's a really good drug, I only wish we could have it in tablets as it does irritate the skin unfortunately.
Doc, why don't you grow your eyebrows? Is there any products for your condition?!
I was using topical minoxidil for years and found my hair was still thinning. As i noticed it was thinning i noved to manual minoxidil oral... and i feel as though that really hasn't worked at all. Is manual minoxidil as good as a chemist bought oral minoxidil?? I really need some advice
Everyones different i take some hair loss vitamins and use a derma stamp looking into plasma injections as well because i feel itll help
Minoxidil will work, but you need a DHT blocker try finasteride or topical finasteride and you should be good
So I bought your shampoo and conditioner, and have one suggestion...seal the bottles.
Minoxidil will do the front of the scalp as well, it did for me. I lost the gains because I stopped using it, but it works.
Getting the shampoo and hair mousse from feel confident today! Do each have to be used daily or is 3-5 days ok with zinc pyrithione and ketoconazole the other 2-4 days?
Finasteride is a no-no for me. I got horrendous side effect at even 0.125mg. Fortunately, it goes away after a few weeks.
Yeah, so many bad testemonials, I would not take it.
I've been using feel confident shampoo for the last month and it feels really good on the scalp and leaves the hair very soft but manageable. I'm still waiting a couple of more months to see the thickness and grown of my hair. Pretty good so far.
Thanks for sharing!!
Taking Biotin can interfere with some lab testing results, in particular, thyroid tests.
What?
I didn’t know this!!!
In which way?

@@lindatarlton2578If you have thyroid issues, you need to nourish your adrenals.

Yes, biotin doesn't affect the thyroid, only the thyroid tests, so always important to hold taking biotin supplements few days prior to blood tests

Do you mix the castor oil with anything? Like some kind of carrier agent?
Castor oil? Do you use a carrier??
Thx man
@@shelleykapp9637 I’ve not actually used that in my hair, but it’s fixed my dry eyes & is amazing for skin, eyelashes & eyebrows growth.

Dutasteride Side Effects and Results:
I added dutasteride of .5 mg 1x per week.
These drugs can damage your liver and are not worth the vanity
Finasteride definitely will grow your existing hair even at 1/2 gram a day.
I just don’t know after time it Fins might have effects on your wood if you know what I’m saying.
@@bluereef9530 well, my libido is not where it used to be after being on fin for 2.5 years now. I can get hard, but the libido is what fell off. I don't crave sex anymore and i'm just never horny. I feel a lot with fin is mental wise. if your head isn't into it, good luck. But that's in any instance of sex but it heightened moreso with fin and im taking 1mg every other day. Now, that aside, fin really saved my hair because it was going downhill fast. So, I still am on it and will stay on it as the benefits outweigh the risks to me and less time thinking about girls and being a sexual deviant means I can devote more time to actual important things tbh.
There are treatments for acne/pimples!!!!!!!!

hi dr gary, great videos thank you.
what do you think about taking creatine and the increased production of DHT? is there any proof that the creatine supplementation increases hair loss?
What about coconut oil, rubbing onion juice on your scalp and drinking onion juice?
Won't work, just get the medications.
Why is hair loss occurring at a later age, instead of applying stuff against the symptoms, couldn’t we fix the root cause? (for this type)
Do you ship your products to the UK?
Doctor, why do not you try to regrow your hair and eyebrows?
Doctor Gary, what about tretinoin on the balding area?
So even after a hair transplant you must take minoxidil/finasteride ?
Yes. Hair transplant will replace the lost, DHT sensitive hair, with DHT resistant hair, but the remaining DHT sensitive hair will continue to recede and die if you don't take finasteride - as if you had done nothing.
(Bald) Spot on! 😅
What rich people do:
1. Anti miniaturization.
Micro needling. Cheap
Minoxidil. Cheap
PRP. Very expensive.
2. Anti DHT
Finasteride (block one type, less expensive) Dutasterid (block two types, more expensive).

Thanks
If you use minoxidil (alongside finasteride) to regain some growth then stop it and carry on with just finasteride will the minoxidil growth reverse or will the finasteride keep the growth?
if im 22 and barely see signs of hair loss , is it still safe to use your thickening shampoo

I have psoriasis. Could that contribute to hair loss?

If you take minoxidil and finasteride but then go off of minoxidil (but continue taking finasteride), would you still see reversal of any results that were due to minoxidil? Or would finasteride stabilize those results since it attacks the root cause of further hair loss?
you will likely see a certain amount of reversal. How much is hard to say, but looking at it mechanistically, there simply is going to be a difference. Might help looking into studies for haircount
The problem with minoxidil is you have to take it every single day for life once you start. Once you stop taking it, all the hair falls out.
