I think the problem is with " science people reacting" is that the scientific view is a view the are told is the truth, while science changes over time too. Hwoever, it can often can act as if if it's more true than same average joe who may have more or better ideas than them. However, becuase that average joe has no credentials he or she is less likely to considered credible for the average person.

Finasteride and minoxidil caused me to have erectile dysfunction and extreme depression. As soon as I stopped the treatment, my depression stopped shortly after and my Ed straightened up within weeks. That sucks because I feel I'm a great candidate for keeping my hair but I can't handle the side effects.

My journey (if anyone's interested) 🙂 : I'm 50 now and have been trying to go 'natural' for about 9 months with a realistic approach, but also to go full "kitchen sink" mode with everything I've heard of (micro needling, oils, massages, nutrients etc etc...) ..I was I'd say Norwood 4 to 5.....so..the hair I had is now stronger/thicker......my previously slick bald scalp area now has dozens of tiny white hairs covering it....What does all this mean? I don't really know, but things have definitely improved (somewhat - definitely haven't gone backwards) ......the big question is will those small hairs continue to grow over the next couple of months or so.....we'll see (I'm never going pharmaceutical by the way)....OK, what I do is weekly micro needling (with a good one with NEEDLES, not the cheap dermarollers that slice); daily scalp massage 10-20 mins, with your own hands or a soft brush/tool; maybe every 2nd day oil on the scalp and leave half an hour (eg. rosemary, pumpkin seed oil, jojoba, olive, coconut, castor, peppermint, in various combinations...you choose...I mix n match); nutrients/ supplements including saw palmetto, melatonin, milk thistle, nettle & dandelion (healthy liver is vital)....lots of greens, water, quality protein, NO SUGAR....minimal alcohol.....exercise (anything! I do Pilates, walk/jog, and have a rebounder - I also have an inversion table to hang upside down a couple of minutes maybe twice a week)...that's about it!! The kitchen sink method 🙂 CONSISTENCY and PERSISTENCE...(I guess I'll give it a year! no, not easy, given I'm not 25 and have advanced hair loss, but hey, can only try🙂) cheers

I think often times an under rated way to increase medication adherance, especially when it's something as annoying as massaging a liquid into your hair twice a day. Is providing instant feedback aswell as long term results. What does that mean? Using chemicals that temporarily swell the shaft of the hairs to give you that "wow this stuff is working right away" feeling. Aswell as providing the clinically significant effects through minoxidil and finasteride over the long term.

From my belief the only thing that plays a big role in hair health is self-esteem. In my personal experience I've had some huge ups and downs with my hair and personal path and with myself getting better also my hair would get better. I had extremes of loosing a large portion of my hair (with a circle on the top/back part of my head completely bold) to having grown hair on areas that I never had before. The same happens with the gray hairs. They come and go. Literally. I'm 47 and don't color my hair.

I think the castor is ok to rub into the scalp alone or with coconut or almond oil, it’s just really hard to remove from the hair. The growth oil is used after washing & just left as is. Finasteride Side Effects: I have been on finasteride for 4 years. Hair grew in the back of my head. Each year, however, my hairline recedes a bit more. After 1.5 years of taking finasteride at the 1 mg level 4x a week with no side effects. I decided to incorporate dutasteride. I had literally had no side effects for finasteride, excepts my balls hurt for a month.
    Dutasteride Side Effects and Results:
I added dutasteride of .5 mg 1x per week. After 6 months, my hairline grew back, and the hairs were so thick, I thought was 20 years old. It was great. I thought I could take dut forever. This new hair growth came at a cost. I started to get deep pimples that took 3 to 4 weeks to heal on my face. Then giant pimples appeared on my body , and they left bad scars. My body started to look like a zit farm. Also, the taste of meat went from normal to metallic. I couldn't eat chicken, pork, or beef without feeling nautious. Chicken started to have this metallic taste of iron-- you know if you ever have consumed cooked liver. Yuck!! Also, I would get deep pimples from eating meat and sometimes a boil right around upper thigh near the scrotum. Dutasteride affects your liver and kidney, so this was probably how my body metabolized it. Not great though.
Eventually, I made a decision that I wanted a clear face than a full head of hair. Deep pimples taking weeks to heal on your face sucks, plus these pimples left scars.
So I decided to go off dutasteride and all the hair that regrew on my hairline disappeared, but so did the metallic taste of meat and all my pimples scars have disappeared and I never get deep pimples or boils anymore. So the dustateride caused my body develop deep pimples and the metallic taste of meat.
I would strongly encourage people to take finasteride and then if no results go to dutasteride, but remember dutasteride can some weird side effects.
In conclusion, always take the less potent version of a medicine first and then move onto more powerful medicine, if the first treatment isn't working. Also, I am still on finasteride and I will take this medication until I die. It works great for me with no side effects.

I did use biotine years back, also the 10 000 mcg. But I stopped it because my nails grow so fast it made me nuts. I needed to cut my fingernails about 4 times a week, that was insane. My finger nails grow kinda fast naturally (need to cut my fingernails 1 to 2 times a week) , but it also repaired a nail injury that I got 25 years ago. I crushed my finger 25 years ago and since then the fingernail on that finger always split/rip in the midle. But after 1 month of biotine it was gone. And it stayed away ever since even when I stoped the biotine, wel occasionally it still splits but that is very rare (with the biotine it never split and the nails were very strong). Oh yeah and another side effect was acne, so that sucked..

And you should do machine micro needling as well because that aids in preventing miniaturization of hair. Which is separate form DHT even if DHT also attack the hair. If you have lost hair in the front, your transplanted hair with be healthier, but get the same issue over time. Therefor micro needling via machine, not roller (damage the skin, needles get dull, the rolling effect makes the needles go in at an angle etc) and other should be considered.
Oral minoxidil helps as well here. So does/can PRP treatment, which is very expensive.
All of these are focused on getting nourishment to the hair.
Minoxidil increases blood flow (gets more of the PRP stuff via regular blood).
Needling does micro damage that incentives the body to increase blood flow to the area.
PRP is taking your blood, adding separation fluid and putting it in a centrifuge to separate blood and plasma (nourishment). The latter is added to a needle and injected at multi points into the scalp.
DHT meds aid in reducing it and its negative impact on hairloss, but often is not not enough to only do this.
      What rich people do:
      1. Anti miniaturization.
      Micro needling. Cheap
      Minoxidil. Cheap
      PRP. Very expensive.
      2. Anti DHT
Finasteride (block one type, less expensive) Dutasterid (block two types, more expensive).
Finasteride is cheap if you use Proscar and pill divider. Dutasterid costs the same as Propercia.
      3. Hair transplant.
Transplant + above and you get more hair to your lost locations while using treatment to make it last.
      Very expensive.
      4. Shampoo etc.
Using less harmful shampoo. Can be cheap or costly.
After work, get in the shower and remove all hair products and so on with regular water and air dry you hair.
You do this when you are not doing anything else that day of course. Free (aside from water cost).

    • @Lobos222
      @Lobos222 Місяць тому +4

@@Snake369 DHT resistant hair is actually a myth. You take your back hair, fertile lands, and place them to the front, less fertile land. You need to use treatment to keep both transplanted and natural hair. It is just that the transplanted hair starts at "age 15" on the front. It therefor seems like it is resistant, but in reality it is not. If you transplanted hair before puberty. It is very likely that you would lose the transplanted hair at the same rate. Most "resistant" research is only like 3 to 5 years tops... You have have hair for decades.

My brother is 2 years younger than me, and we have similar hair loss and obviously similar genes as we are brothers.
