I'm 60 in 4 months and have stopped my hair loss and am gradually growing it back. First I started doing inversion table a few years ago for a spine issue and noticed some hair coming back. I take Saw Palmetto and am now hardcore on my diet Mediterranean-ish, low carb, no processed, no added sugar. Currently doing 15 minutes per day on inversion table. In last few months I added deep scalp massage while inverted, and derma roller 1.5mm micro needles. My hair loss issue appears to be blood flow related. Tight scalp tension with fibrosis. As I'm encouraging blood flow thru mechanical means and it is allowing my dormant miniaturized hairs to regrow. Now I feel comfortable not wearing a hat. 😄
Yes it speeds up hair loss! But hair loss through stress does grow back once you get over that phase . Topical things like minoxidil can speed that up though.
Thank you, doctor. I'm in my 40s and recently got a hair transplant recently. Thiking to take oral finasteride to maintain my existing hair but not a fan of minoxidil due to side effects in oral form and irritation and being dangerous to my pets in liquid form. Would oral finasteride by itself be sufficient enough? Or should I add any other complementary supplements or applications?
Thank goodness for this video I tried 4 surgeries in Boston and no much success to fix my problem. 3x3 cm area, $30 k and no lucky to achieve anything more than a light hair density The 1st, 2nd and third left a bad scar and the 4th surgery was the only one that gave me a light hair density Every surgeon say that crown is impossible to fix. I wish there is one day a surgeon becomes specialized to fix crown
Dear Dr. Linkov, I’d like to ask you something and I hope you can help a little: what is a good way to reduce oily hair? I have thin hair and it’s getting oily, so I have to wash it every day. I’d be happy if you could give a little and effective recommendation. Thank you.
When i use topical minoxidil on its own or with Finesteride as topical, i get hair growth that fills , but i get itching all over my body without skin rash, even if i stop. Once i lose the hair months later the itch stops.
Can you do a video about what some of these celebs have been doing to their faces recently? Christina Aguilera, Kate Beckinsale, Lindsey Lohan, Demi Moore, there’s some kind of new procedure or method out there making their faces look so instantly youthful but different at the same time? I’ve seen people speculating about it on TikTok and IG and I’m surprised you haven’t covered it yet?
Hey Doctor, I would love you to do a video about proper dieting for this topic! I know is not your speciality but maybe you could collab with a fellow nutritionist here in te platform!
Doctor, if i don’t have pre-existing hair before the hair transplant, should i be on a medical therapy "Finasteride", after the surgery!! If yes for how long should i be on it? Because what i know is Finasteride is to prevent the pre-existing hair from falling out! And not the new transplanted hair! Please let me know!
do you always need to shave scalp before a procedure? I have had a transplant, but hated the regrowth phase after it. Shaving again and going through the regrowth (again) is putting me off another procedure - which would be on my scalp...
i had weird symptoms with oral minoxidil. when i took a deep breath, i had discomfort in my chest. had to stop taking it and now back on topical. been on fin for 2-3 years.
I’d like to see you talk about whether or not there is any proof of results regarding using a high frequency wand on the scalp as a hair growth stimulator.
I had my first hair transplant with 39, both crown and temples, total of 5800 grafts... crown was always my weak point.. unfortunatly, when my hairloss started, i knew nothing about minoxidil and other treatments.. i would never hop in finasterid though
Why? Check out the recent video about fina, you’ll see how much of the scary stories aren’t that founded. Been on fina for almost 15 years, and I thank the lord every morning as I see my unchanged hairline in the mirror. Minoxidil usually can’t stop hairloss completely, it can slow it down significantly tho.
I had a transplant at 40 for the front, cutting out a strip or hair, and a second one at fifty for the front, cutting out a strip of hair around the scar (so only one scar which was sewed so that hair grows over it) - in effect a very mild facelift that pulled the thinning crown patch down a bit so I can't see it in the mirror, face-on, but it does not seem to have got any worse than when I was forty (now seventy) and I do comb my hair back from the front. I do use Nizoral shampoo two to three times a week, Fabao 101 hair tonic every day and take some hair vitamins. Definitely can see the hair thinning if I stop the Nizoral and now experimenting with using heavily diluted Nizoral in between the full strength shampoos - I do shampoo every day and only use cold water showers even in winter (not just for the hair but to wake me up in the morning).
Hi Gary do you take the hair for the crown from the head or under chin area there saying on a lot of site that it’s better from the chin better survival rate do you agree with this
Grateful video! I have a question: Does plucking/regrowth/plucking hair help permanently remove a few unaesthetic hairs from my hairline (such as multi-heir grafts)? if yes, then how long after hair transplant it works. thanks
Hi Gary, i thought Saw Palmetto doesnt work?, also you mentioned not to use microneedling, so im a bit confused. Ive been using a scalp massager. Also, could you do a video on head dermatitis, i forget the name for it, i have it, i think it thins my hair, i use a shampoo for it, but nothing seems to change.

Hi Doctor Gary, Is Norwood 3 (Vertex) too late for Finasteride and Minoxidil ? Which stage of balding can be reversible with Finasteride and Minoxidil ? Thank you for your great knowledge and video 🎉🎉
I’m at stage 3 (vertex) with small resscesion on the left temple and some visible thining on crown ( lost about 30-35% of density maybe). If I can get my crown back to 80-90% of my teenage, I’m happy with that 🥳

When you remove the hair what I'm asking is and transplant it to another spot what happens when you remove it does hair grow back their,? Or do they have like a scar there forever or just hair grow back in the spot where you remove the hair? My hair is really getting thin and my hairline is going back now and I think I want to have some hair transplanted because it's really bothering me I'm very insecure about it I have my hair in a ponytail to try and camouflage my crown wear my hair is falling out and I would love nothing more but to have a short hair cut again, I do have some health issues and I'm on medication and I don't know if that's a contributor to my hair falling out but it's very recent that this has happened I'm 54 years old, and just in the last 2 years I noticed my hair is started falling out, and I had a very big thick head of hair for my whole life and now it's thinning and it's noticeable people are commenting and it's really making me feel self-conscious about it. I would need some in the front not a lot but some. And in the middle like around the hairline where it's receding and a little bit in the midsection of the front because it's quite thin there, and of course my crown area and I would like to do all of it like I don't want to come back and do this part and then go back and do another part. People say I don't need to do it my family says I don't need to do that I don't need to spend my money on that. But I really like to. It would make me feel better but I also don't want to shave my head off and then have to grow it out again I just will not feel comfortable looking like that it. I wonder how much it will cost. I live in Canada and I really admire your show I think you're a brilliant man, and I watch you everyday today I'm ordering your shampoo I don't use anything in particular I don't even use conditioner, but I'm going to start of course I don't use any hair products I just have my hair in a ponytail and it's fairly long for a man.. but I'm a status first station Indian here in Canada. And I've seriously been thinking it over. It's been a battle trying to get myself back to myself again and I'm almost there. And I'm really thinking about it.. everyone says I don't need it I look great the way I am and I'm confident in myself but I would feel better about myself I'm very self-conscious about my crown. I guess if it was in my budget and I could come to your clinic and do it I would I will.. I'm also considering going to Turkey to do it as well
Hey Doctor Gary, I've been using oral minoxidil for 8 months, mainly for my crown. At month 5 it was back to being full, but at month 6 it started getting bad again, also noticed more shedding. Is this part of the process for oral minoxidil?
Hello. In my country we dont have acess to propecia without prescription, but theres generic finasteride pills 5mg known as prostide. They are small dificult to cut them in 4 pieces but doable, you have after that very small 4x1,25mg parts the problem is that the pill is film coated. Can i buy empty gelatin capsules and fill them with the tiny cutted 1/4 parts from the 5mg pills and consume them like that? Cheers

That’s how I felt too. I finally went to my dermatologist after watching several of Dr Linkov’s videos. I’ll decide in another 6 more months if I like the results enough to stay on it. I’m taking 2.5 mg.
Hi Doctor. I am 25 and started thinning at 20 lol. I started hair laser therapy and minoxidil with seronoa with some shampoo. I still see thinning and it's still 6 months. I already paid about 7k for the laser therapy and I believe that my doctor is just lying to me at this point. Kindly doctor is it true that medication can cost 4 grand? Am from Australia
Focus on nutrition, stress free mindset, and dietary habits. In your 20s, your scalp and cells are very active and strong. Inhibit DHT thru topical finasteride, or even duesteride, gentle derma roller applications, and massage the balding area for blood circulation. Poor blood flow causes the sides to go bald, while excessive DHT causes the top to disappear. More importantly, clean and shampoo your scalp regularly. Cut your hair every once in a while to decrease split ends and encourage growth.
