Doctor Gary I have a question that I hope you can see and comment on because I’ve never seen it asked and it does scare me a lot. “ Has anyone of your patients developed shingles after a procedure of a hair transplant?” I had a girlfriend who had her wisdom teeth removed and developed shingles on her face so that scares the hell out of me that it can happen after a surgery. Please like this so the Doctor can comment!
That’s most likely just a result of the physical and mental stress of the surgery she had. The shingles virus is always in you if you had chicken pox. If you didn’t have chicken pox growing up - no shingles
If one had any trauma, surgery or reduced immune system can cause one to have shingles. It’s not supposed to be common because many people have surgeries and they do not have shingles.
I have had two procedures done by Bosley, and am quite pleased with the results. My expectations are not grandiose. I know that I will never have the thick hair of a teenager again, but the difference is still striking. My first procedure was done ten years ago and my second was last year. The first one was 2,500 grafts and the second was 2,200. I intend to have a third (and final?) procedure done in the near future, and was told that I could have an additional 2,200 grafts transplanted during that procedure. If I hadn't had these transplants, my hairline would be like a "horseshoe" now. It IS expensive, but if it makes you feel better about yourself...do it!
Thanks for details on Bosley HT . I know they are really impressisve work as per my friends review. Can you help by telling that you are using dutasteride /finsteride Tablet and also minoxidil on scalp massage once a week instead of everyday to make slow growth cycle and reduce hair shedding ?
I take a propecia pill daily, and use Minoxodil on my scalp twice a day. It is important to realize that one's hair undergoes a "shedding" period each year, and not to worry about that. I also had a situation after the second procedure where the donor area scar was extremely visible (like a sideways horseshoe on the sides and back of my head), which worried me greatly. I spoke to Bosley, and they assured me that this was temporarily due to a "shock to the donor area" and that it would disappear, which it did. I can not say enough good things about them. They are true professionals, and incredibly friendly and helpful as well, and I am looking to my third and final (?) procedure in the near future.@@JSD999

My hair health has been getting more damaged and shorter, my hairline receding more, and fewer hair follicles everywhere, no matter what few products I have been trying since last year, when I had really nice, full long hair from 2020 to early 2022. Been very self-conscious about my hair and look for several years since I have hated having short hair but am not giving up and will try everything I can to regrow my hair and get my hair follicles back, reduce damages and moisturize hair, and prevent future hair loss, similar to how I looked earlier this decade. Actually, I have been on them for 2 months after going to another dermatologist’s office after a few months of not going to one due to other complications. Hoping the hair comes back by the time I go back in February, otherwise I’ll have to use other items and ask if they can increase the dose, if that’ll help. Also, minoxidil hair regrowth foam treatment hasn’t been working even though I apply it once a day, and recently thought to change it to two whenever possible since nothing is happening once again and hair loss has been getting worse, even when using it for the past 14 months.

Do you have any videos or tips for females on products or transplant? I have PCOS and i have hair REALLY LONG hair but quite thin fine hair and large forhead 😂
Hey Doc! I was considering a "safe bet" of first doing scalp micropigmentation and then trying surgery on top of it, as a sort of cushion to have an aesthetic hairline base and smooth transition in case the surgery does not yield good results first. is there any reason not to not do this at all, or do first the surgery and then the micropigmentation? Is raspberry vinegar good against hairloss? Pls answer i'm 15, started balding at 13 and even though i have thick hair genetics, i dont want to be seen with a bald spot
First of all no natural remedy like some raspberry vinegar is gonna work by itself. Second of all you have to determine if you are really genetically balding. You might be losing it from some kind of deficiency or disease. I suggest you visit a dermatologist and ask them to evaluate your scalp if you are genetically balding or not

In my case, at55 i have a receading hailine but not on the crown. So i have been sort of stuck/very slowly loosing at the front and can not go bald becaus of cutis verticis gyrata, the head looks horrible shaved. I have enough and it is quite strong and thick that it camouflages the problem but i fear in older age i will be the point of jokes and rejection.

Also I don't understand the notion that you should strengthen you hair before going on with the procedure. If even the hair on the back of the head are too thin to be made useful, then you're done. It's madness to get into stacks of medicine at 25.
Nice hair regrow progress!
Dr. Gary looking good, keep your work with your hair growth.
Great vid Dr Gary - I was told I have a great deal of hair on the back of my head but not enuf 4 a transplant so at 58 I hope science catches up with the FDA and provides men with better options than Rogaine or Finasteride say hair cloning or stem cell that require lil to no surgery- how bout that 😀🙏
I heard Stem Cell and Hair Cloning is becoming available in Developed Markets like America and UK. Where do you come from by the way?
Boy, your hair is looking great
Hi. You mentioned that an underlying inflammation condition could impact hair transplant results. Could ulcerative colitis or the medication for it impact results of a hair transplant ?
Can you please do a video on hair transplants for psoriasis patients?
Great vid and great advice and responses
Looking good Dr 👍 I'm happy you are getting your hair back ....
How ,with finasterid or?
Hello Gary:) I love youre videoes:) You are informative, I learned more than talking to Dr. here in Norway. And I have to say: You are a good example that a goodlooking man is goodlooking with and without hair:)
Hi Dr. Linkov. Do you have any recommendations on hair transplant doctors in the Los Angeles area?
great vid !
also what would have been done during FUE surgery for the scars to look pretty bad/visible?
punch holes too big ?
thanks !
Dr. Linkov, I'm not a subscriber to your channel but I do come back often to get your expert opinions on real medical issues. You da man.
Interesting to see more comments about the regrowth of your hair. I like moustache 😊.
Great channel! What about having a hair transplant where the patient has diffuse thinning (still MPB) but overall thinning.
Hmmm I had 2500 grafts fue style and I get a 0.5 fade back and sides. I have no issue whatsoever. Cannot notice any scarring or density issues.
Gary got hair and beard back 😊 looks great
What type of procedure (FUE or FUT) is used for beard transplants ?
You look AMAZING!!!
Dang, Dr. Gary is turning bak the clock. He looks GREAT!
I like your stoic demeanor
Hey Doc I am suffering from alopecia and noticed your hair. How did you get it to grow back? Please help, thanks.
Doctor Gary, you look amazing. Love it!
You mentioned that having an active inflammation may be an issue. Will seborrheic dermatitis be a problem for hair transplant? Thank you doc
Point 3 was about FUE at 20 with hair loss that will continue. FUT would be a better option since you likely will need more HT later.
Can you reccomend a good anti itching agent? I haven't seen or heard much on this and I really suffer with itchy scalp, I have tried various oils and Apple Cider Vinegar helps a little but I need to completely get rid of it
My mate had a hair transplant had some little dots from missing follicles he went to a hair tattooist and he litrally inked them in there's ways around it all safe to say he looks awesome and it has given him a lot of confidence
So norwood 2-3 is too early for hair transplant??
I just went through hair transplant fue procedure 20 days ago.
Procedure was okay , hairline was okay.
I'm almost 40.
Problem is I noticed the doctor missed a small vertical strip on my temporal area.
Does this happen a lot in practice? What are the options to remedy it?
Does it hurt a lot?
@immortalxd6190 you mean post-op? Nah, it is more of discomfort. On surgery, they gonna put anesthesia through your head by needles, so of course it is gonna hurt, but nothing unbearable.
@@أحمدالشمس-ق9ج ahh I see. Thank you
The procedure was hella painful, the numbing shots
I see m8. Thank you so much for the responses. Hope all's well now🙌🏻
Hi Doctor..who mentored you and do you find it difficult to keep up with all the types of surgeries required by a cosmetic surgeon of your stature?
nice to see your hair growing back doc
i have one question please
im 27 and im balding especially at the top of my head and also in the front and I want to get a hair transplant do you think I should wait and see how the situation will evolve or I can go a head
Get on finasteride and minoxidil asap! At least for 6 months before getting a transplant
Go get a consultation!
@@b.k.9651Why?
Because balding doesn’t stop. And if you listen to th doc; if you do medical treatment before a transplant, the better your result will be!
I’ve had an transplant about 5 years ago and nobody told me to take finasteride and minoxidil. The first year or 2 the results where really good. But the thinning of my hair continued. This year I’ve started finasteride, minoxidil and some other forms of therapy. I really can see big differences after 6 months. Even though the shedding was really bad at the beginning.. trust the proces 🙏
Doc, your hair is growing. Congratulations.
Hello together. Dr.Linkov thank you so much for your videos! I am seriously thinking to do a hair transplant in Turkey. Is there any clinic you would recommend ?
Ok Doc, so I just need to get treatment to make it stronger and thicker? How do I go about that?
I am on Finasteride for 9 Months and I don't have any side effects. I consider also to add Minoxidil but I wonder if that is good idea because I defintely need a hair Transplantation. What would you recommend to add Minoxidil or do a ht first and than add Minoxidil.
Do you have any videos or tips for females on products or transplant? I have PCOS and i have hair REALLY LONG hair but quite thin fine hair and large forhead 😂
Don't worry about it, to many people are self-conscious today with social media, I bet you're just fine as you are 🤙
His previous video is about female hair loss treatments.
@@APN34Z haha aw you are very kind, but I really do look a bit like an egg with long hair 😭😂💗
@@nonalolagirl oh okii, thank you for telling me!! 😄
Thank you.
Dr. Linkov, is it possible for someone to have donor hair from a cadaver or for the hair to be grown in a lab like they do skin for grafts?
Hey doc I have a lot of white hair at age 21 is it reversible to get back black
I ❤this video !!!! 1 of your BEST doc !
May I ask if you have a video on beard graft on the vertex? Is it a good solution in case of poor occipital donor area? Thanks a lot
What is the percentage of having side effects using Minoxidil?
I had problems with my veins cause of the Bloodpressure. It changes cause of minoxidil and in my case, i thinck i got into a very dangerous situation. I stopt cause i feard a Trombousis and stopt taking it. The Problems vanished and never came back. Theres always these Things they don't tell you about all this Shit we take. My Doctor said its fine, but its not.
@@pascalschacher6971 thank you for replying 😊it s true and I never thought that the blood pressure can create also problems like this. I am happy that I have never taken it.
@@Zibo100 Yea man. Many people take Minoxidil and they do fine. But the Risk is just to high and these Dictors just want to sale as many of the stuff as they can. Its a good Choise to stay away bro.
Dr Gary is the best!!!
How would you suggest that I start looking for a genuine clinic and surgeon? The only one I know of is Bosley. I’ve written down questions I’m going to ask at consolation but where do I start what should I search
Dr. Gary, is that micro pigmentation or did you do FUE?
Procapil seems to be sold a lot here and is being recommended more than Minoxodil. What do you think?
his website is ambiguous as to who exactly is performing the extractions. It says that it is sometimes a hair technician. I would love more clarity on that bc considering doing one by his practice.
Do you think companies the Hans Wiemann and Hair Club for Men are reputable companies to go to for a hair transplant?
I got a hair transplant 4 years ago, and it was by far the best decision / investment I ever made.
are you taking finasteride with it?
@@deadrift886 every other day
I’m wondering the same thing ^
Do you use medication till today
@deadrift886 yes, I take fin every other day, sometimes less than that
I got Fue and it’s not visible at all in the back. I do cut my hair really short back and sides so yeah 😊
What doctor
How did you grow your hair and eyebrows back? I haven't watched your videos in a while...
am the only not caring AT ALL about the back scars? (at least the FUE ones).
I have watched a number of your videos and love them. Can you tell me if hair transplant works for women.?
Is raspberry vinegar good against hairloss? Pls answer i'm 15, started balding at 13 and even though i have thick hair genetics, i dont want to be seen with a bald spot
First of all no natural remedy like some raspberry vinegar is gonna work by itself. Second of all you have to determine if you are really genetically balding. You might be losing it from some kind of deficiency or disease. I suggest you visit a dermatologist and ask them to evaluate your scalp if you are genetically balding or not
@@s0yyqq ty for your answer man but im sure that i m balding like dht caused balding. So i dont really want to use any chemical solutions and only want to use natural ones
@@Apudubled it’s okay to take chemicals not the dht blocking one tho because your still 15. But something like minoxidil I started taking it at 15 too. But anyways dont think about this until you actually know whats the reason for your hairloss. Again go to a dermatologist
You're an ethical cosmetic surgeon. If only I lived in the states 😅
Dr Gary are you taking any treatment for allopecia Areata condition you had ?
Man how are you growing all your hair back?!? What’s the consultations fee cause I need your help what’s the new diet consist of?
Looking good Doc !!!
Is your scalp skin tight at the front? Only loose skin will grow hair. That’s why the hairs on the sides of your head are permanent.
If the desired result is to alter the shape of the hairline for example a natural deep widows peak, would you do a hair transplant or forehead lowering or would you need a combination of the two?
