    I used the surgeon David used about a decade ago. At 60, you would be impressed with my hair. There is no doubt I would be very, very thin by now as all three of my brothers are bald. Without a hair transplant, I would have likely joined their club. I went in using Minoxidil, derma rolling weekly, and Revian Red--all of which I continue to use though now I'm on oral minoxidil/finasteride instead of liquid minoxidil which I recommend. Zero side effects for me, personally. Consistency, post-op, is key and I think Dr. Linkov would agree. My surgery went well and I cannot even see my scar though I had very good (thick) donor hair. Great video, Doc.

    I have had two procedures done by Bosley, and am quite pleased with the results. My expectations are not grandiose. I know that I will never have the thick hair of a teenager again, but the difference is still striking. My first procedure was done ten years ago and my second was last year. The first one was 2,500 grafts and the second was 2,200. I intend to have a third (and final?) procedure done in the near future, and was told that I could have an additional 2,200 grafts transplanted during that procedure. If I hadn't had these transplants, my hairline would be like a "horseshoe" now. It IS expensive, but if it makes you feel better about yourself...do it!

    • @JSD999
      @JSD999 10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for details on Bosley HT . I know they are really impressisve work as per my friends review. Can you help by telling that you are using dutasteride /finsteride Tablet and also minoxidil on scalp massage once a week instead of everyday to make slow growth cycle and reduce hair shedding ?

    • @TheVerbalVolley
      @TheVerbalVolley 10 місяців тому +2

      I take a propecia pill daily, and use Minoxodil on my scalp twice a day. It is important to realize that one's hair undergoes a "shedding" period each year, and not to worry about that. I also had a situation after the second procedure where the donor area scar was extremely visible (like a sideways horseshoe on the sides and back of my head), which worried me greatly. I spoke to Bosley, and they assured me that this was temporarily due to a "shock to the donor area" and that it would disappear, which it did. I can not say enough good things about them. They are true professionals, and incredibly friendly and helpful as well, and I am looking to my third and final (?) procedure in the near future.@@JSD999

    Doctor Gary I have a question that I hope you can see and comment on because I’ve never seen it asked and it does scare me a lot.
    “ Has anyone of your patients developed shingles after a procedure of a hair transplant?” I had a girlfriend who had her wisdom teeth removed and developed shingles on her face so that scares the hell out of me that it can happen after a surgery.
    Please like this so the Doctor can comment!

    • @bryancohoon9333
      @bryancohoon9333 Рік тому

      That’s most likely just a result of the physical and mental stress of the surgery she had. The shingles virus is always in you if you had chicken pox. If you didn’t have chicken pox growing up - no shingles

    • @Blacksheep142
      @Blacksheep142 8 місяців тому +1

      If one had any trauma, surgery or reduced immune system can cause one to have shingles. It’s not supposed to be common because many people have surgeries and they do not have shingles.

Then I found your channel and am hoping to watch more of you. Subscribed and hope to get good advice and information from you. Been having hair loss for the past year and a half at age 17 1/2, and has been getting worse since then. My hair health has been getting more damaged and shorter, my hairline receding more, and fewer hair follicles everywhere, no matter what few products I have been trying since last year, when I had really nice, full long hair from 2020 to early 2022. Been very self-conscious about my hair and look for several years since I have hated having short hair but am not giving up and will try everything I can to regrow my hair and get my hair follicles back, reduce damages and moisturize hair, and prevent future hair loss, similar to how I looked earlier this decade. Wish me luck!

      @rayanzaidi2793 Рік тому +2

      Actually, I have been on them for 2 months after going to another dermatologist’s office after a few months of not going to one due to other complications. Hoping the hair comes back by the time I go back in February, otherwise I’ll have to use other items and ask if they can increase the dose, if that’ll help.
      Also, minoxidil hair regrowth foam treatment hasn’t been working even though I apply it once a day, and recently thought to change it to two whenever possible since nothing is happening once again and hair loss has been getting worse, even when using it for the past 14 months.

    I got my transplant about 21 years ago. It came out great! I had about 3000 put on the frontal thinning area of my head and hair line. I had long hair at the time . I was in a rock band and the thought of my thinning area was depressing. Now fast forward .... Im a Firefighter now and my head is shaved bald ! So what you need to think about is , yes the transplanted hair will probably last a lifetime ,BUT the other original hair in the transplanted area will thin out years later and then your back where you started............ shaving my head was also scary because I didnt know what the shape of my head would look like. And the scar on the back of my head from the transplant..... in the end shaving my head was probably the best thing I ever did!!!! The scar actually doesnt bother me ..... its a conversation piece ! LOL

    I believe there's a few things that are incorrect In what you said.
    First off if someone has norwood five or six at 20 years old.. obviously have you been losing it for a few years now and even going on finasteride that might buy some time but eventually that will succumb.
    Why I say this is because a person is already in no word five is not going to be able to get enough grafts to be happy at 20 years old these people are not realistic they want the hair they had for years ago.
    That is 100% unattainable.
    Secondly you forget to say that FUE is not permanent it is very likely within around 10 years even the transplanted here Will miniaturize.
    Fut gives you better results because you're taking from The Sweet Spot but of course the scar is worse but the hair will last longer.
    Regardless all the patients need to be on finasteride any Doctor Who says oh it's an option if you want to it's just conning the customer.
    You know if they have moderate to severe hair loss that within a year or two they will be back for another hair transplant to fill in the rest and eventually they won't have no donor area left.
    FUE even with finasteride is not for life, even FUT with the next ride while you may get many more years probably 15 or so or 20 before it starts to miniaturize a bit.
    The mere fact that you say that someone who is just turning 20 years old and is already a Norwood five or six is a candidate is very off-putting they will never get the density they need.
    You're asking people who are 20 years old to have rational thoughts and say you're just going to get some coverage it won't be thick because you have aggressive hair loss.
    And you need to analyze the donor area if you see that it is thinning and it will eventually get thin that tells you what the follicles are going to do if you ever transplanted.
    That means the Fue follicles that you transplanted will die also.
    Very disheartening with the info that you're providing, hair transplant is the last resort.
    There are some people that they are just destined to be bald and there's nothing you're going to be able to do about it.
    I know it's a hard pill to swallow, but it's better than having a scarred back of your head that you're going to try to camouflage.
    Even the best with FUE the scar is going to be visible, and every time we reenter to get more grafts the more scars you getting.
    There's only one thing that you mentioned and that is being on finasteride in Rogaine that is the stabilize if you have severe aggressive hair loss even that might not stop the DHT from binding.
    A person should be on it for at least a year minimum to see if they can stabilize but a person who is 20 years old stabilizing a Norwood 5 is self-defeating.
    They are probably better off getting SMP from a great practitioner.
    And while you're talking to mainly a U.S crowd most people cannot afford it and they had the turkey and get botched.
    You seem like a good guy you've been through the wringer with your condition and you look great bald and you look great with your hair coming back.
    Maybe I think you are too invested in it mentally trying to help people but some of your information is very inaccurate no 20-year-old who was a Norwood five should be getting a hair transplant on finasteride or not.
