My hubby started losing his hair at 20 by 24 he was really going bald, we were dating at the time and i kindly brought it up and he cried about his hair and i cried with him, The next day he decided to shave it and he looked amazing. He has a beautiful shaped head. We are 8 years married.. now i couldn't imagine him with hair.
I experienced COVID that lasted around 11 days. I thought I was ok but I started to lose more hair than normal. Following some research, I am realizing it’s from the stress my body went through during that time and also due to the shampoo I had been using. So I started doing yoga and meditation everyday and changed my shampoo and conditioner to littleextraa cooconion anti hair fall kit. And now i dont face any hair fall. Thanks for this video! I feel so much better.
Well, honestly, I started using this Cocoonion shampoo and hair conditioner over the last few days as I had been dealing with hair fall. This has made a significant difference. With ongoing use, it will make even more difference. Till now, I haven’t encountered any issues.
I am a female but I am so interested in your channel, it gives me so much knowledge and I really like you throwing words of wisdom every once in a while to remind us that cosmetic procedures cannot solve our self esteem issues. Nice job doc! I appreciate you taking time in your busy schedule educating us.
I'm a danish psychology student. We actually had a social/personality/evolutionary/comparative psychologist professor, who recently focused on aesthetics and wrote a few books on the topic (e.g. The Aesthetic Animal). He actually did research phenomena like cosmetic surgery and why we do it. His work has become increasingly popular with cosmetic surgerons because his work is psychology based within their field of expertise. Cosmetic surgery: something no one needs yet we do it anyway, why? Inner beauty is important but we do have a biology and we can't neglect aesthetics and how they signal and communicate health. For example people who are symmetrical and are thus viewed objectively by society as attractive, also simultaneously grab the attention more of infants (i.e. babies actually look more at these individuals). Symmetry is a universal signal of health and sadly that's somewhat based on evolution. People who are symmetrical tend (statistically) to have fewer health issues and are generally healthier. Hairlines depressingly also signal youth and thus also health. It's not politically correct and it's not like we don't simultaneously don't also have a cultural influence, but it's a factor we can't neglect. Now it might be "such a big deal" for men since women commonly are attracted to partners that are a little older since that generally signals that they have experience and are thus more competent as mates. Men however are attracted to youth and thus typically find younger partners, since youth is associated with health and health means optimal for procreation. Evolutionarily there is a reason why male pattern baldness has been allowed to evolve yet female hair loss isn't as common or as agressive (normally) as male pattern baldness and it usually also happens much later in life (usually in their post reproductive stage). Female hair loss has been significantly reduced by natural selection whereas, this hasn't been the case for men. So, yeah objectively you do look older with a receding hairline, that's a fact but if you decrease the contrast (e.g. shorter hair or hairstyles) or completely remove the hairline (bald) this can improve it. Now the issue is that not everyone can pull off the bald look lol. We all pray we come out looking like Travolta or Willis, but for some of us that just isn't the case. Aesthetics do mean something (not just on a shallow or moral level) no matter how much we value inner beauty.
I guess hair is such a sensitive topic. My cousin brother is going through the same and he uses humor to counteract other people's comments. But we still can see the way he feels. Thank you for covering it in a respectful way. 😊
They feel that why because most men don't have the skull shape and face shape to pull it off and most women find it repulsive. Noticed I was having diffuse thinning/frontal hairline recession around 24 years olds. Didn’t do anything about it until 27 and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I started oral Dutasteride 0.5 mg and take it on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I also take oral minoxidil 5mg daily. I have been on this regiment for over 2 years now and have seen incredible results. Went from a Norwood 3 to a Norwood 2 (I think I’m back to my mature hairline). Overall density is back to where it was before I noticed the thinning (which has resulted in my hair looking darker). Just thought I’d share my experience in case it helps someone P.S- I took 1mg oral finasteride for 1 year prior to this regiment, but did not notice any regrowth. It only halted my hair loss which is why I switched to Dutasteride to achieve better results. I have had a slight decrease in libido, but could be due to the placebo affect or increase in age. I’ve seen this video a short while back and always thought he was quite clever going for progressively shorter hairstyles because by the time he needs to shave it off it’s already short enough to not make that much of a visual impact as opposed to someone who grows it out to mask the loss. Regarding his brother’s story, it’s on Joey’s second, you should definitely check it out!
Loss of framing is a destruction of one's aesthetic identify (for some). On the opposite, hair restoration through medical therapy and surgery is crafting one's identity. It's a great time to be alive and have accessable options for the first time in history.
5:18 As a 35 year old man (who noticed some loss in the past 2 years or so, but no change in the past year) this is VERY comforting words. Just have to ride it out! I'm of the opinion that it's fine to simply have less hair: I don't feel the need personally to buzz it short or shave it off entirely. I'd rather just work with what I've got.
I'm 34, and was losing hair at the crown. It didn't affect my daily life, and I didn't care much, but it was in the back of my mind. So I buzzed it a few days ago. I liked the look so much that I shaved it clean. It actually seems to provide extra mental clarity because, like the guy in the video said, I can't have a bad hair day anymore.
I am probably at a Norwood two or three currently at 33 years old I believe my hairline has been here for quite a while. No thinning in the front that I am aware of, I will ride my hair out for as long as I can. But when the time comes I too will become a shaved head bro

Good video and reaction. I agree that people who comment on your baldness aren’t worth your time. It’s hard when it’s family. My hubby’s dad really ragged on him for shaving his head. I felt so bad for him, until we discovered his dad had dementia, which effected how he perceives his world.
@@ShaferHart, i never said it doesn’t affect people. In fact, it does. No one can pretend. But you can learn to be positive and not let people crush your spirit.
i am divorced and overall in a bad psychological shape. I am 39 now and my hair thins out on the top. Its not super worse but noticeable. My biggest fear by far is not finding a new partner anymore. This makes me sick and depressed.
I just shaved my head today. You can see from my profile picture and my videos that I actually appear in, I have had long hair since 13-14 (I'm 20 now). I noticed just HOW thin my hair was, and didn't want to keep feeling embarrassed without a hat. I've gotten back to using minoxidil solution and biotin vitamins, but if my hair is going to grow back fuller it will take a long time to catch up with how long my remaining hair was. This was a VERY stressful situation for me as I have always felt pride from my hair and have been fairly androgynous my entire teenage/young adult life. Let alone being in a touring metal band with a bassist with long, gorgeous, silky hair, and a singer with thick curly hair. I must say this feels very nice to not be worried about it anymore. My gf of 4 years said it reminds her of the protagonist of Hitman. I'm still going to wear eye makeup and still have my piercings, but I'm really excited to be in the same clan as David Draiman, Kratos, and Dwayne Johnson!! Side note I have toyed with the idea of getting Norse skull tattoos if I keep it shaved, but I may just have the good ole Walter White as is.
Hi Dr. I am very happy to know your chanel. Thank you for sharing about hair loss. My daughter is 3 years old, started losing her hair in May, and now her hair and eyebrows are gone. I hope there is a way to make my daughter's hair grow back. Every time I see her, I feel very sad.

One thing I came to mind, which I just turned 30, is that my dad, my grandpa, and all my uncles went bald, and they are the hardest working men I've ever known. We got that mexican bloodline where physical labor and hard work runs through our veins, but I realized about 2 years ago that none of them ever worried, nor cared about hair loss in the SLIGHTEST! They had much bigger and better things to worry about, holding multiple jobs, feeding us/the kids and wives, everday was a fight for survival in poverty back then in their generation (but not mine.) IDK they never worried about it, why should I?
Most men look slightly worse when they are bald, in some rare cases they look good bald, but they always look better than half-bald. That's the sad truth...if a girl likes u bald, she would have liked u having hair as well, but the opposite is not always true - this reality will affect anyone confidence, ppl saying otherwise are just full on copium or not balding. Coming from a bald dude that spent his 20s with a nw7, but at least had the luck to look good bald (or so they say, but I know I looked better with hair xD).
Hey Dr Gary your eyebrows look good , I'm happy for you , I'm suffering from the same condition, can you please guide me how to cure my alopecia areata. I experienced continuous recurrences after using oral corticosteroids
Do you see any female hair loss? It extremely hard in society to be female. I know it's hard for males but If a man goes out in public people don't notice it's normal with all the shaved heads in this day and time. I was just curious?

About a month ago I had a hairtransplant mostly placed on the crown and some in the middle of my scalp. Total grafts were 3500. While doing research I watched a lot of your videos and learnt about finasteride, minoxidil and biotin vitamins, thankyou for that!. It got me interested to the point I met my dermatologist yesterday. However, he didn’t want to prescribe finasteride to me because of my age (29) and potential for having children soon. I have read about the side effects but it didn’t seem to say that it was harmful to an unborn child/your semen. Would you suggest/advice not to take finasteride if you plan to have children in a year? I am however worried that my hairloss will continue from this point onwards and that I will someday have too little hair to fully cover my head.
they talked about this in hairlossshow, they said you need to stop finasteride for some time, make children and then hop on it afterwards, you can find the video yourself channel is called the hair loss show

Good video and reaction. I agree that people who comment on your baldness aren’t worth your time. It’s hard when it’s family. My hubby’s dad really ragged on him for shaving his head. I felt so bad for him, until we discovered his dad had dementia, which effected how he perceives his world.
It can still affect people. Pretending it's not happening it's of no use.
@@ShaferHart, i never said it doesn’t affect people. In fact, it does. No one can pretend. But you can learn to be positive and not let people crush your spirit.
I got medical therapy as soon as I noticed hair loss and I "stopped" it and even gained a bit back. So happy I acted fast!
How much were you loosing before you started meds? What you using? How soon did you started?
Please what the name of drugs
Minoxidil (once daily), Finasteride (half a tablet every other day), RU58841 (once a day).
Also he actually looks younger bald than with the thinning hair
i am divorced and overall in a bad psychological shape. I am 39 now and my hair thins out on the top. Its not super worse but noticeable. My biggest fear by far is not finding a new partner anymore. This makes me sick and depressed.
Sounds like there are ways to treat it. Do what you can, think of the possible side effects of finasteride tho
3:25 18 years old? He reminds me of those high school actors that look 30
People definitely threat you different when you lose your hair.
I could not physically be happy without having hair if I found out my hair was thinning I would go on keeps and hair transplants so fast
how about receding hair line but only on one side of the head? is that normal too?
My son is losing his hair at 22,it’s going fast and it upsets him.l told him so long as you stay in shape being bold can look sexy .this video will be a blessing for him.
Dr you look better with out hair.
Tell him to take Finasteride
He should just get on finasteride and minoxidil right now ! It's not too late . It works ! It's really as simple as that actually
My husband lost his hair starting as a teen, same for one of my brothers. Looks much better bald than he ever did with hair.
@@Black_Samurai-fish thats sweet .👍
He will resent you if you tell him to just go bald.
2:03 This is one of the reasons I didn't realize I was balding earlier. My barber and my family always told me I have such thick and good hair and I wouldn't go bald but turns out that wasn't true lol
Exactly the same. Lies
I have an M shaped hairline, my hair look thin and damaged and I've lost at least half of the density I had and my family still thinks my hair is fine and this is just an obsession.

My hair started falling out at 17 and for 17 years I wore a hat religiously it was completely demoralizing. At 33,34 I just was lucky and accepted it
This dude talks more calm than any stoner I’ve ever met lol
Dr Gary looks so good bald . 😊

My family has good hair genes which is awesome. I also do the estrogen thing these days. So I should be set to keep my locks 🥰
I think Dr. Gary looks good with no hair. Bald men who accept and embrace their baldness look confident. 🙂

They had much bigger and better things to worry about, holding multiple jobs, feeding us/the kids and wives, everday was a fight for survival in poverty back then in their generation (but not mine.)
IDK they never worried about it, why should I?
Dont know who the dude is, but he looks and looked great in all the pictures he shared thruout the video ❤
Coming from a bald dude that spent his 20s with a nw7, but at least had the luck to look good bald (or so they say, but I know I looked better with hair xD).
there is also a video of joe's brother about his hairloss protection check it out too in which he talk about minoxdil and finasteride

Hey Dr Gary your eyebrows look good , I'm happy for you , I'm suffering from the same condition, can you please guide me how to cure my alopecia areata. I experienced continuous recurrences after using oral corticosteroids
Both the doctor and the guy in the video he’s reacting to look amazing bald.
Do you see any female hair loss? It extremely hard in society to be female. I know it's hard for males but
If a man goes out in public people don't notice it's normal with all the shaved heads in this day and time.
I was just curious?
Hey just curious did you tattoo your eyebrows? Or is your eyebrow hair regrowing? Either way looks good!
3:44 when he's painting his head green look at the guy beside him
Decent haircut could get it cut shorter at the sides ..he's receding too I'm taking it these are collage students 20 or 21 years old
When this guy discusses how “rough” his hair looked, I think he looked fine. He has a masculine face, kind of square jaw. So from an outside observer, he looked fine. You got to figure there will be people who will be attracted to you, hair or no hair.
Your brows look great, Doc!
This was really a good vid Thanks, Gar.

He looks gorgeous!! Question for the more experienced. I can t take finasteride saddly due to sides, is minoxidil a viable long term option?
Doctor, can you talk about cowlicks? I am female, 45, and the hair is getting weird there. 🤷🏻♀️
I HAVE BEEN BALDING SINCE 16 NOW 9 YEARS LATER I AM ON FINASTERIDE AND MY HAIRLINE IS COMING BACK ITS ONLY BEEN 7 MONTHS AND NO SIDES WHAT THE FUUCCCKKK
I use a shampoo with a combination of saw palmetto, caffeine, ginseng and pro vitamin B5 it’s a natural shampoo it’s form the brand Natur Vital and it’s a Anti hair loss shampoo plus I use a product that it’s exclusive from Portugal 🇵🇹 a product with the name OLEX oil (Petróleo OLEX) which prevents hair loss making them stronger
how much is this shampoo?

Dr Gary, did you consider hair transplants. 🤔 Personially i think you look attractive as you are. Love that voice!
7:25 he actually didn't look bad in that "in between" state. He definitely looked better than completely shaved. That hairline is manly as long as he kept the beard. Just keep it longer at the top and keep the beard and try to not lose any more help.
Hey Dr. Gary. Just wondering if you did something with your eyebrows? I can't tell from the way they are now, but I swore you used to not have them? (If you did do something it looks completely natural.)
That's guy's hair loss story almost similar to me. Like him I am 25 but people think I'm 32.😂

Hi Gary, thank you for this video.
i have one question, I transplanted my hair and I am interested does creatine monohydrate cause hair loss? sorry for my english
Do any hair restoration meds don’t cause ED?

Dr garry can you help me please, I have a bad hairline and need 3000 grafts+- the dhi technique or the ice sapphire microfue? I don’t want scars because maybe 1 day I go bald if I’m older please help me..
I would rather just be bald completely then be in the process. I shave my head with a 0 length. But my hair grows so dam quick I need to do it weekly or it looks shit. Today I was told “oh you’re balding”. Like no shit right. But because I’m at 3-4 weeks growth my hairline looks fucked. I have hair like Jon Snow but it’s pointless if your hairline is messed up
@Dr Gary is PRP effective after a hair transplant and is selenuim effective aswell?
My barber never told me ☹
Hi sir, I did hair transplant in turkey last 4 months ago, after hair transplant my my hair fallen down , and now my 20% my hair regrow, it's possible my all hair regrowth again , or I will do 2nd hair transplant.thanks
I’m sorry this is unrelated to the video. Have you done a video about Morpheus or RF Microneedling for the face? Thanks.
Should you use minoxidil foam after a hair transplant ?

Hello, I tried to so my own research regarding if they are drug-drug interaction between Finasteride/Minoxidil and Baricitinib. The later is used for Alopecia and I thought a combination of all those medication would be great to fight hair loss. Just want to make sure they won’t negate each other or potentially be harmful when interacting.
As a male who suffers from male pattern baldness and is to poor to afford treatments. I just shave it off. Just shave it and grow a goatee and you'll look badass af
Hey Gary what's your opinion on diffuse thinning and what's the success rate of their treatment do you believe they are good candidates for Transplants I'd like your honest opinion if you could do a video on it that'd be great

I am now 24 years old but hairline is getting losing in my left side but in the right side its not really receiding and i dont know why its not the same but i am 24 already i experiencing hair loss everytime i want to try to comb my hair
I have a similar experience. For me, my left side isn’t that bad. Yes, it’s recessed but not that bad while my right side is recessed further, like 0.5 to 1 centimeter further than the other side. I wish both sides were like my left. Good thing is I already had that at 19 and I‘m 25 now. Back then I thought I would be already bald by now but my remaining hair is stubborn. I‘m not taking any medication.

I think I'm thinning around my crown but I don't notice losing hair. No hair on my pillow, no clumps of hair when I wash my hair, no hairs in my hand when I go trough my hair with my hand etc. Would this be good indications that I am not losing hair or can I still be losing hair but not noticing it?
