Not actually true , storm troopers are quite competent when you look at the writing. Being consistently defeated in movies as a result of the story doesnt really reflect on their overall effectiveness.

Hello Games didn't get let off the hook for No Man's Sky being released as a shell of what was shown in the trailers, and they gave us a load of free updates to make up for it, despite being a small "indie" development team. EA & DICE can afford to do even better than that, but they won't, because they're greedy, amoral scumbags who have plenty of other cash cows to milk. May they burn in hell.

Mr. Snarky with no explanation which pisses me off. I was so hyped for “hope cannot save them” on Vardos where she would the stormtroopers rallying around her, but instead she ended up killing them all because why??
Lucasfilm needs to stop doing trailers that have things that they haven't set in stone yet. I was hyped for a campaign focusing on Inferno Squad as Imperials, not people who defected a couple of months max after the 2nd Death Star tragedy. Part of the reason I enjoyed the original Battlefront II so much was getting the point of view as an Imperial for a good bit of the game.
Dalton Johnson Lucasfilm doesn’t make these trailers, EA and Dice do.
I was partially referring to Rogue One, and I assume Lucasfilm has some say in trailers for their franchise.

The obvious problem is that they have been edited and reassembled (from completely different sections of the Campaign mind you) in such a form that all of these specific cutscenes create a grand fallacious trailer about the Campaign.

This was a trailer for a different, better game with an Imperial Campaign, but all we got was the Bullshit story we have now where we can't have one damn character stick with the Empire.

@@andrewmeyer1470 being an imperial is awesome, and its something different, it could have offered a different perspective, but instead they went the cheap and predictable route because being able to root for the bad guy takes talent from the writers, something they clearly didn't have. Anybody going through the old trailers and noticing all the missing scenes and dialogue? It makes it really seem like she's die hard imperial but she defects to the rebel scum. Makes no sense at all.
I wanted this to be somewhat similar to the original BF2 in it following the Empire and not being like "ooh you get to be the good guys for the 87 millionth time."
I was expecting her to become one of the founders of the First Order, but no...I guess we're hoping for too much.
The campaign is a huge letdown if you wanted a true story from the other side, akin to Thrawn, the Inferno squad book and the original swbf2 campaign. *Spoilers*
The first few missions are great, but it falls apart very quickly. Instead of showing a vengeful imperial fighting to keep the empire alive like this trailer shows us, she switches sides. She goes from a die hard Imperial to a full on rebel freedom fighter in one cutscene. The problem is that her character has been developed as a believer in the ideals of the empire, even during the cinder mission she says that the empire is supposed to be protecting the civilians. It made sense she would try to stop operation cinder, but it makes no sense that she joins the rebels. It would've been better that she joins another Imperial faction she believes to be better, not to go full fucking rebel.

This plot in the trailer is so much better
As soon as the starfighter "save the satellites" mission happened, I knew exactly where the story would go. No one would specifically withhold information so obviously unless it was used as a plot device. That's the second goddamn mission, and one mission later she turned. It was such a disappointment. Heck, even an episode in the Clone Wars did it better, when they showed that the separatist ambassadors in their "senate" had actual reasons for believing in their side and the subject of "no good, no evil", was touched upon (if only they weren't being manipulated by count dooku). They could have tried the same thing here, and it fell flat on its face instead and became one massive cliche

I agree. The first had no story and limited advancement options. I mean it still gave you the feels as you advanced and was still a decent game overall, but it was not a "collectable" like borderlands, Ark: S.E., Zelda, or Mario. This is to say all of these previous games had a multiplicity of great quest lines or few scripted paths at all that kept the games playable well past the first year. Could you imagine playing Star Wars: Battlefront now..? I play Borderlands, Ark, and Zelda AoT, but I don't get the "feels" replaying Battlefront 1 as much. This one looks promising though...

Anyone finish the campaign and realize a lot of this isn’t in the campaign
For anyone that didn't go to the website for details, here's a brief summary.
Pros
-This will include a single player campaign. (A bad-ass empire one at that)
-Multiplayer will now feature classes, vehicles, and ALL ERAS.
-Space Battles are now once again a thing.
-Heroes will be available from every era (Cross your fingers for Jar-Jar DLC)
-Split Screen Co-Op
-Larger customization
Cons (So Far)
-Battles will still be relatively small in comparison to previous titles. (40 player combat, 24 player space combat)
-Older game modes related to the Battlefront series haven't been confirmed (Unlikely to be)
-Micro-transactions almost certainly confirmed (Case-key style system likely, and not just for cosmetics)
-Pre-ordering the special edition still gives the player some-what of an advantage (Unclear how large the advantage)
Points of interest
-Space battles (Unclear if they will be as the previous battlefront titles had them or if this'll just be Battlefront's fighter mode in a space setting)
-Servers (Unclear if this'll still be peer-to-peer connection or dedicated servers, guessing by the scale of the multiplayer battles it's very likely peer-to-peer)
-Micro-transactions (You know why)
For the most part DICE has listened. Now let's all cross our fingers EA doesn't shit on our dreams, and remember kids no matter what don't hop on the hype train it could get real shaky towards the end.
Also forgot to mention Season Pass is not longer a thing

i didn't buy the first game for obvious reasons *sheds tear in disappointment*
but was it really P2P? not even dedicated servers? wow. i expected better from dice. i understand that battlefield is heir main flagship but it's a huge mistake for them halfass this franchise like that. if the space battles were at least 20vs2o aswell, but not even that. i'll remain skeptical. battlefront deserves better.
one question: is the P2P thing the reason the last battlefront didn't have server browsers? if that's the case then we can add no server browsers as a con to the list

Some information for those of you who have not yet watched the panel:
- Space battles will play a much bigger part in this game.
- The campaign spans over 30 years.
- There will be NO season pass, only a deluxe edition containing advanced modifiers.
- There will be classes just like Pandemic's Battlefronts.
- You can play as heroes such as Kylo Ren or Luke Skywalker in the campaign.
- It goes across all eras.
- You can ride taun-tauns.
- DLCs will most likely be free.
- The character you play in campaign is Iden Versio, leader of Inferno Squad.
- You could play offline in a split screen co-op.
- Space battles contain up to 24 players.
- There are unique abilities to choose from for each seperate hero, starfighter, class etc.
- You could pre-order now for The Last Jedi characters.
[EDIT] There is no season pass due to a 'fragmented community'.

It's not a story! This is the highest degree a lie!!! I was ready to forgive her everything, for the opportunity to see a normal, human Empire, people with principles!!! All the trailers and interviews spoke about this. Said that the whole company will be dedicated to the Empire!!! And we got 4 missions and those without a normal script! And all!!!!!! The game shows you the middle finger and says" fuck you! Play as the rebels!!!

When I watched the release trailer, he gave me so much for intrigued that I immediately pre-ordered. And when you passed the game, I have a feeling emerged that a company in a hurry changed under the rebels. What were you thinking!? This is such bullshit!!!

Technically, the First Order did not "rebel". They are the Empire who retreated into the Unknown Regions to lick their wounds. Those who surrendered at the Galactic Concordance are not true Imperials. The real loyalists to the Emperor have merely retreated into the Unknown Regions to lick their wounds. Now, they have returned as the First Order, the first Galactic Empire reborn. Now, they will strike back at this Rebellion and their so-called Republic. Now, the true war begins.

Who wrote the original script for this campaign I want to shove them a high five for writing a cooler story in a trailer than the person who took their job in the final product.

Steps to make the perfect battlefront:
Step 1: Every classic map from the original 2 battlefront games.
Step 2: Add the force awakens and rouge one and maybe some of the old republic to it.
Step 3: Campaign
Step 4: Galactic conquest
Step 5: No power ups especially for vehicles although the hero is reasonable for one.
Step 6: Let vehicles have a pilot seat and secondary gunner seats.
Step 7: SPACE BATTLES especially ones that take place over the Death Star, super star destroyer, and star killer base.
Step 8: Space to ground battles.
Step 9: make your two biggest game modes Space battles and Conquest.
Step 10: CUSTOMIZATION NEEDS TO BE AMAZING
Step 11: No season pass, every DLC is free, with the cost of having micro transactions like Character skins or XP boosters

Mighty Wolf 09 What I mean by that is like in the classic battlefront games how the tie bomber, Y-wings, snow speeders and a few more vehicles like that had two or more seats, and the second seat was usually a secondary gunner.

I'll give this to EA: it looks like they've listened to the fans for a change. Been saying they need a game or movie from an entirely Imperial perspective too, and they're doing that this time around. (possibly in the spirit of the original BF2 501st campaign?)
