Not to kill your comment or anything, but one of the first things trainees on both sides are taught is how to shield themselves with the force. Obviously, power level is variable, but I doubt most force users would suffer any damages from a small controlled crash like that, even more so because this is supposed to be an elite strike team that paves the way for the entire imperial invasion of the planet (temple shield generator had to fall or it was an abort.)

In case anybody wants to know at 1:44 that is Darth Adraas. He was one of the Sith that supported the peace treaty and was later killed by Malgus for his weakness and "mongrelization" of the purity of the Sith Order. He was the apprentice of Darth Angral. Adraas also took all the credit for the Sacking of the Jedi Temple which made Malgus hate him further. He was Malgus' main rival and taunted him constantly publicly and was trying to take Malgus' position in the Sith Hierarchy. Malgus ended up taking him down with his Sith Lightning and then removed his glove and crushed Adraas' neck with his bare hand. I hope someone finds this interesting. I thought it was cool to share.
Well Netflix is making a CG animated Resident Evil show. I think if it becomes popular and Disney follows suit, we could very well get a Star Wars show in this animation style.

How is the end any different? Ven Zallow fought to defend the Jedi temple and killed a few Sith, but still died to Malgus. Shaak Ti didn't kill any Sith (to be fair, there were only 2 of them in her time) and still died. End result: Jedi Order is still buggered in both scenarios.

You are absolutely right. The problem with star wars,is that it's not going forward.Theses action scenes and character designs are amazing. I love the original star wars trilogy but I have to admit,it don't hold up in comparison of fight scenes and designs of this right hear. The movies need to be more like this. It's almost as if Disney and the production team are really afraid to go that far. Like, in the original trilogy, they couldn't make the fighting scenes exactly like this simply because they lacked the technology and other materials. They used the capture of the planet to strong-arm the Republic into giving them over two-thirds of the known Galaxy at the time. The Sith Empire was winning by the way, they only agreed to the Treaty of Coruscant because Vitiate got bored and told the Dark Council to offer the Republic a treaty.

Yesterday I watched The Force awakens and, though I had a feeling i would actually enjoy the movie, I ended up cursing in front of a screen for 2 hours.

Yes, in spite of being inferior to everything that came before it, it's still a better story than the ST. I highly recommend picking up the Legends books: Revan, The Third Lesson, Smuggler's Vanguard, Deceived (Ties in to this Trailer), Red Harvest, and Fatal Alliance. They tell the story of the SWTOR Era nicely and are good at telling the story without having to play the MMO.

The Sith Empire in the Old Republic era was built over the course of millennia and ruled for much longer. Both sides have winning and losing points. Sidious managed to wipe out the Jedi and conquered the entire galaxy, but only managed to hold on to that for 23 years. Valkorion never managed to completely wipe out the Jedi and only 'tried' to conquer the entire galaxy but his empire lasted way longer then Sidious's.

it wouldn't look nearly as good.. alien planets and architecture requires some expensive CGI; + the aliens AND lightsabers and stunts and what not? nah too expensive for netflix series. Animated tv series like clone wars would suit better imo
The thing is, Blur Studio (the creator of the cinematics) said these cost 1 million dollars a minute to animate a full film would cost at least 90 million just for the animation alone. Not even counting the other stuff like script costs.
His comparison is indeed a bit lazy but I think he‘s right: TOR has cool looking characters, a lore that gets respected and which gets VERY much new stuff added to it (we also see many planets/weapons/species and so much more that we already know from the OT and the Prequel movies and other games that came before) and interesting characters with backstories and life lessons that are sometimes even highly critical like Kreia‘s philosophy. The Sequels on the other hand seem to only have few species for whichever reason, indeed have new locations/planets which are but very boring (forest, water, ice and that’s literally it) look at mustafar and umbara for positive examples; it’s just lazy. We didn’t even get many new ships and starfighters; they just used the ones from the OT which spares them a lot of work because they only have money in mind which would be fine if they‘d actually deliver. I could write so much more; for example the EU is far more interesting for Legends/ other parts/eras of the franchise that were already covered in video games or mostly movies. But that would be too much. It’s of course only opinions but SW can get so good and sooo interesting at the same time; Mandalorian and CW S7 showed it, this missed opportunities on all fronts (cinema and video games(EA)) just show how much better Star Wars can get and is supposed to be. I‘d never say it’s too late or SW is dead but if they keep coming up with lame boring stuff they might just lose many more fans of Disney SW. Someone has to tell them MANY lessons.

I have a theory that the reason for this could be that the Force may be dying. Some would call me crazy but think about it. The genocides that Jedi do to Sith and Sith do to Jedi must do something. Perhaps it could put the force far out of balance and weaken it over time.
It's the same with most teachings, like martial arts for example. Each generation gets taught an even more watered down version of it because not every master is willing to teach or reveal everything they know to their students, and thus some knowledge is lost along the years, making each generation gradually weaker. Same goes with the Jedi and Sith, so many purges and massacres killing off large amounts of them that they become almost extinct and therefore only some of the skills they mastered could be passed on.

Not to kill your comment or anything, but one of the first things trainees on both sides are taught is how to shield themselves with the force. Obviously, power level is variable, but I doubt most force users would suffer any damages from a small controlled crash like that, even more so because this is supposed to be an elite strike team that paves the way for the entire imperial invasion of the planet (temple shield generator had to fall or it was an abort.)

They really capture the Jedi vs sith fighting styles so well at 2:30 . Malgus’ strikes are furious, passionate, almost hateful. The head Jedi is flowing, redirecting his foe’s attacks.

But there were obviously some standouts in the clone wars era, such as mace windu, yoda, who could have competed with and probably beat the best of the old republic

In case anybody wants to know at 1:44 that is Darth Adraas. He was one of the Sith that supported the peace treaty and was later killed by Malgus for his weakness and "mongrelization" of the purity of the Sith Order. He was the apprentice of Darth Angral. Adraas also took all the credit for the Sacking of the Jedi Temple which made Malgus hate him further. He was Malgus' main rival and taunted him constantly publicly and was trying to take Malgus' position in the Sith Hierarchy. Malgus ended up taking him down with his Sith Lightning and then removed his glove and crushed Adraas' neck with his bare hand. I hope someone finds this interesting. I thought it was cool to share.

How is the end any different? Ven Zallow fought to defend the Jedi temple and killed a few Sith, but still died to Malgus. Shaak Ti didn't kill any Sith (to be fair, there were only 2 of them in her time) and still died. End result: Jedi Order is still buggered in both scenarios.

The ending was the best part, when Malgus stabbed that Jedi (sorry forgot his name) and the last thing he saw was Couracant being destroyed, a truly powerful moment.

Am I the only one who feels that this is what the star wars concept SHOULD BE? Like I'm kinda tired of original concept. Old republic concept (fighting scenes, character designs, armor designs, plots) are cooler and way more appealing.

I love the original star wars trilogy but I have to admit,it don't hold up in comparison of fight scenes and designs of this right hear. The movies need to be more like this. It's almost as if Disney and the production team are really afraid to go that far. Like, in the original trilogy, they couldn't make the fighting scenes exactly like this simply because they lacked the technology and other materials. But now there isn't an excuse to do something cool like this. The ENTIRE writing staff needs to be replaced before Disney tries to do any more SW films......ESPECIALLY a KOTOR era film because they would screw it up badly if not. No, Malgus and the Sith Empire succeeded in sacking Coruscant. They used the capture of the planet to strong-arm the Republic into giving them over two-thirds of the known Galaxy at the time. The Sith Empire was winning by the way, they only agreed to the Treaty of Coruscant because Vitiate got bored and told the Dark Council to offer the Republic a treaty.

Of course they were not the type who went to the Temple and fought the Jedi in the open but they've turned the entire galaxy against them to the point where plenty of people believed that Sidious was a hero Post ROTJ. The only one who really nearly kriffed up the Grand Plan was Darth Gravid.

Disagree, the entire story of SWTOR is great despite the fact it pales in comparison to KOTOR I & 2. Yes, in spite of being inferior to everything that came before it, it's still a better story than the ST.
I highly recommend picking up the Legends books: Revan, The Third Lesson, Smuggler's Vanguard, Deceived (Ties in to this Trailer), Red Harvest, and Fatal Alliance. They tell the story of the SWTOR Era nicely and are good at telling the story without having to play the MMO.

Of course not a single or in truth all 12 star wars movies can match a game that has 8 stories with over 9 hours worth of story a piece either.

The Sith Empire in the Old Republic era was built over the course of millennia and ruled for much longer. Both sides have winning and losing points. Sidious managed to wipe out the Jedi and conquered the entire galaxy, but only managed to hold on to that for 23 years. Valkorion never managed to completely wipe out the Jedi and only 'tried' to conquer the entire galaxy but his empire lasted way longer then Sidious's.

it wouldn't look nearly as good.. alien planets and architecture requires some expensive CGI; + the aliens AND lightsabers and stunts and what not? nah too expensive for netflix series. Animated tv series like clone wars would suit better imo

The thing is, Blur Studio (the creator of the cinematics) said these cost 1 million dollars a minute to animate a full film would cost at least 90 million just for the animation alone. Not even counting the other stuff like script costs.

His comparison is indeed a bit lazy but I think he‘s right: TOR has cool looking characters, a lore that gets respected and which gets VERY much new stuff added to it (we also see many planets/weapons/species and so much more that we already know from the OT and the Prequel movies and other games that came before) and interesting characters with backstories and life lessons that are sometimes even highly critical like Kreia‘s philosophy. The Sequels on the other hand seem to only have few species for whichever reason, indeed have new locations/planets which are but very boring (forest, water, ice and that’s literally it) look at mustafar and umbara for positive examples; it’s just lazy. We didn’t even get many new ships and starfighters; they just used the ones from the OT which spares them a lot of work because they only have money in mind which would be fine if they‘d actually deliver. I could write so much more; for example the EU is far more interesting for Legends/ other parts/eras of the franchise that were already covered in video games or mostly movies. But that would be too much. It’s of course only opinions but SW can get so good and sooo interesting at the same time; Mandalorian and CW S7 showed it, this missed opportunities on all fronts (cinema and video games(EA)) just show how much better Star Wars can get and is supposed to be. I‘d never say it’s too late or SW is dead but if they keep coming up with lame boring stuff they might just lose many more fans of Disney SW. Someone has to tell them MANY lessons.

I have a theory that the reason for this could be that the Force may be dying. Some would call me crazy but think about it. The genocides that Jedi do to Sith and Sith do to Jedi must do something. Perhaps it could put the force far out of balance and weaken it over time.

It's the same with most teachings, like martial arts for example. Each generation gets taught an even more watered down version of it because not every master is willing to teach or reveal everything they know to their students, and thus some knowledge is lost along the years, making each generation gradually weaker. Same goes with the Jedi and Sith, so many purges and massacres killing off large amounts of them that they become almost extinct and therefore only some of the skills they mastered could be passed on.

If I remember correctly, according to the EU; the Jedi experienced a golden age after the battle of Ruusan. And this is supported by the fact that the Darth Sideous is the strongest sith in existance.
