Everyone’s a hero in their own story. The empire seemed pretty cool to me. Plenty of jobs. Plenty of stability. The rebels rebelled, and the emperor did what any other emperor would do. Tried to put it down. But yes, my imperial bias is showing....

ea has always had great sound, just look at the two sound engineers that left dice and made teenage engineering

It'll be good to see a campaign from the perspective of the empire again where they aren't depicted as cruel baby eating overlords. So long as the protagonist doesn't defect to the rebellion, this could be pretty great.

Looks like she'll defect somewhere in the storyline. It was hinted in first trailer, now it's showed more obviously. Probably we'll see her uncovering baby-eating habits of regime and that's a shame. I also hoped for no clear good-evil sides and actually playing Empire through the whole campaign.
After reading the book, I very highly doubt that Iden will defect. She's made her loyalty very clear. The only way I can see her defecting is if she is on the wrong end of the Imperial assault on Vardos, her homeworld. And even then, she could be the one spearheading that assault.
If ever she does defect (fingers crossed she doesn't, I'd love a full-on Empire story), it'd probably be because she doesn't think the First Order is anything like the Empire it used to be, like it's turned from keeping the Galaxy in control to terrorizing it like what the Rebels did back in the Empire's days (well, to her POV, at least).

"We will never show the empire as the bad guys" "We want to make you feel as if the rebels are terrorists". These are developer quotes in interviews. This is not plot twist. This is blatant, dishonest lieing to try and make sure people didn't see this cliche coming. You build a plot twist through creative writing, not lieing to the fans to cover a cliche.

Yes, if we had the game shown in this trailer that would have been worthy of the title Battlefront. A true sequel to ROTJ and showing us Imperial Iden standing for what is right. Not showing us this and giving us a completely different story. I feel sad because the actress is clearly enthusiastic about Star Wars and gaming. And the game makers lied and deceived us all.

One thing you can not deny about battlefront is their trailers are pretty much all kick ass. The music is gorgeous and the visuals are amazing and the sound effects are mixed perfectly, it’s incredible

The ONE thing I wanted in this campaign was for the main character to not turn to the rebels...

A real wasted opportunity. Exactly. It really could have been a story about the legitimate Imperial government attempting to maintain order, to fight a Rebellion as well as certain revolts amongst its own ranks (elements that may have gone on to become warlords and the First Order), before eventually becoming the Imperial Remnant on Coruscant. But instead they went with some twisted plan which seemed highly unlikely that the Empire would start destroying itself? And as you say instead of a more logical and coherent story (like Episodes 1 to 6) which followed a political scenario/galactic control, it went with the loyal Imperial randomly joining the Rebellion and not a single Imperial officer questioning the self destruction of the Empire. Not to mention the fact that the Rebels somehow overwhelm the Empire so fast. There is actually hardly any story in the game at all. Big disappointment. Could have at least had Iden have been the Mara Jade character who met Luke. But what were they thinking? It's all teasing and trailers with no substance.
I thought it showed heart,Iden thought the empire cared for their own but instead she learned the truth that everyone is expendable to the empire you always find a way to make yourself of importance and she didn’t like that at all,many people that day left the empire when they learned that

The campaign is a huge letdown if you wanted a true story from the other side, akin to Thrawn, the Inferno squad book and the original swbf2 campaign. *Spoilers*
The first few missions are great, but it falls apart very quickly. Instead of showing a vengeful imperial fighting to keep the empire alive like this trailer shows us, she switches sides. She goes from a die hard Imperial to a full on rebel freedom fighter in one cutscene. The problem is that her character has been developed as a believer in the ideals of the empire, even during the cinder mission she says that the empire is supposed to be protecting the civilians. It made sense she would try to stop operation cinder, but it makes no sense that she joins the rebels. It would've been better that she joins another Imperial faction she believes to be better, not to go full fucking rebel.

• Sarcasm • Alderaan was the only planet they destroyed with the Death Star, and part of that is Leia’s fault since she lied about the base...also it’s highly likely that Alderaan was a discreet sponsor and supplier of the rebels given that Bail Organa was a founder of the rebellion...also Tarkin was pretty evil...Jedha was a moon, and only the base on Scarif was destroyed, so technically only 1 planet blown up
Also only Palpatine, Tarkin, Vader, Krennic, and a few other were truly evil...the rest of the Empire was just serving for a good purpose and with good intentions, so don’t bunch them up with the few evil guys...that’s like saying all Germans were evil...only the Nazis were evil, the rest were just fighting in service of their country and to protect their families

For those saying it's going to be a redemption story, think about these factors:
1. Iden Versio is *indoctrinated* (🙄) to be loyal to the empire
2. In the Inferno Squad book, she goes on an undercover operation to infiltrate a rebel cell by publicly shaming the empire, and pretending to have feelings for those who died on Alderaan.
3. The events that take place after Return of the Jedi has the empire practically destroying itself, which could be the cause of the commotion between her father and her squad in the trailer.
4. Her devotion to the empire could cause conflicting concerns with the missions assigned by her father.
I wish this, ill haré this become a "redemption" history, she is for the empire and id love to see her die forma it

1:01 There's also a scene where you see a bunch of rebels high ops around a table looking at an holo of Iden Versio. It felt like she may be reporting to them but it could be something else. They might be obtaining information about her recent actions against the rebellion or maybe she's just asking for their surrender/threatening them over holo.
I heard something about her going undercover, so it might be that. Or she could just be threatening them similar to how Thrawn did in the Battle of Atollon.

Empire Perpective my ass! What I was hoping to by looking at the trailer was real empire campaign. Fighting to protect Vardos which came under attack. Make a final stand on Jakku! SCREAMING HOPE WILL NOT SAVE THEM! Then retreat to unkown regions and see Iden become a Special Force for First order but nooooooooooo She need it to defect to the Rebels after third mission... Fucking Let down. Story was good. But not what was advertised...
I know right! but it would have ruined everything if we knew she turned over! I like indeed the part she turns over and the end with ''Decades later'' and u get to see how the 'reading mind' trick works! but the end is weird because the scene with Iden and Luke isn't there which makes me think 'There must be more into it since the scene isn't there - maybe they expand the story' :-)
She did not join the Rebels for good, because there is supposed to be new DLC where she joins the First Order! So maybe that Luke scene is from there? :)
Urm... Not sure about that. The DLC says "During the rise of First Order" nothing that Iden joins. Bear in mind. Hask is in the First Order as an officer and he wants to go after Iden. So... How on earth is Iden going to join First Order? If Hask want her dead? I think she will fight the First Order along the Ressistance. I can't see logical explenation why she would join First Order. As to scenes which were in the trailer. We can see her saying "Hope cannot save them" on Vardos arround Storm Troopers so that was in the past and not in the camapign. As to the Luke Scene. That was on Pilios and I think it was Del ponting blaster at Luke but that scene also was removed.

You would think the mighty Empire spanning over a 1000 systems would have the funds to make real special forces helmets and not have to use tie fighter helmets?
John Smith it's because they are ground/pilot special forces. They just use the one helmet
but even then... they could make just better Helmets for them overall... ore uniforms... they are basicly wearing Standard TIE uniforms..... thats pretty boring and not taht special in comparison to Republic Special Forces like the Republic Commandos, ore the old Canon Imperial ones like... well the Imperial Commandos(the replecmant of the Republic commandos not the other names for the SCs) ore the Stormcommandos...(even if they only had normal Scout Armor)

God, I really hope they will give us a full experienced singleplayer as well. I think a lot of people are asking for a large scale Arcade mode, so I hope they will listen to us. I encourage all people who want this too to go to the official EA website and join the Feedback forum discussions for Arcade! It seems like they are listening to the feedback, so if enough people are asking for it, maybe they'll listen. Also, and here is the important part: WAIT WITH GETTING THE GAME UNTIL THEY FIX THE ISSUE! That way, they will realize they're losing out on our money and increase our chances!

Dude i seriously think EA stopped giving a shit about the game after the loot crate system fail, im not bashing the game in any way when i say this i think the game is fucking amazing but if it cant make billions off the loot crate system then EA will stop supporting the triple A title, they worked very hard on this game expecting a huge financial benefit from the microtransaction system that is being used in pretty much every multiplayer game, they are even suppose to give us free DLC, so now they cant make money off DLC or microtransactions, only game sales, that means they made under a million when DLC and microtransactions would make the game billions, so there is possibly little money being made off the game from them, and now they are expected to have a singleplayer campaign produced in which Disney has been yelling at them to do and apparently nobody likes it or isnt buying the game, so they made it for nothing. So basically they worked really hard on this game and in return they are getting shit on by everyone, which is why season 2 and the next patch is being delayed, they cant even fix the bugs in this game at the moment. We will be lucky if we even get DLC at this point....
