      I have a serious question my fourwheeler lost compression and you can twist the fly wheel by hand what does that mean..the top end is bad?....back story i was drivin it and it slowly started to loose power so i pulled clutch in to down shift and it shut off it started back up after like 5 minutes of cranking it started back up but it ran really choppy then it shut off again and it wont start back up

    I hate to b petty. But I watch ppl like mike sabo. But he and other channels love to talk shit about this channel from time to time. But while their busy making top of line builds and have tons of sponsorships to help them build these top$$ builds. 2vintage is all by himself. He’s has well over double those guys subscribers. And he makes builds for the average joe looking to have some fun on the weekend. Doesn’t need to look good. Just needs to run so u can b apart or the action one way or another. This video is a epic example of not needing deep pockets to get a piece of cow Pooh running for next to nothing!!!! Thanks bro. I love this channel 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽💪🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♂️💯💯

      I have been thinking the same thing. In UK, people would still ask top dollar for one though. They have no sense about value. I would have given no more than £100 tops. If it cost a bunch to get running, it would be an achievement at an expense, but a feeling of achievement and pride would be there. I hope he gets it all done.

      @@Corras_1 yes. If you buy a car I the East Midlands worth around £50-£100 you have the cost of what the seller thinks it's worth ( he thinks it is worth £400) then spend on some repairs and a service and then insurance etc. Could end up costing near £1000+ for a car only worth £300-£500 to resell. Mopeds are the same. Honda NE50 non runner, no not, been standing for years is not worth much. Somewhere around £50-£100 depends if seized anywhere. The seller thinks they are rare and worth around £500. One in need of some work can cost around £300 in parts to get running plus mot. If in very good condition and looks, probably has some extras, might fetch £450-£500. Some think they are worth over £700.

    3rd bike i ever owned was a DT175MX like that but red n had all plastics, i used the run/stop switch to switch it on and off.. it had a dent in tank where an aquaintance took it up a steep hill n crashed into a tree! So rebuilt it, blew the dent out tank n sprayed it white n put some stickers on it, fun little bike, throttle was bad for sticking though, i had no lights or key or anything either but still used the run/stop switch for switching it on and off.. they can be fun little bikes, i was 14 when had mine, now have a DT125R with water cooling and powervalve system, its a fast little bike better than the 175.. im gonna look forward to you getting this one running!! Cleaned out many tanks, best solution thats enviromentally safe that works great is vinegar. Fill completely, wait two or three days, wipe clean and use clean water to neutralize the acids in vinegar. Tank will look brand new.

    • @michaeljones0007
      @michaeljones0007 3 роки тому +2

      Throw some bolts in there too.....after u neutralize assuming it cleaned up u can put WD-40 to stop flash rust. Coat tank, drain then put some fuel in. Vinegar works well, BUT don't leave it in too long.

      @@michaeljones0007 yes definitely, I've done that and it works great. Yes it does. I've soaked a pair of 383 dodge charger manifolds that had almost an inch of rust inside and out, let soak in vinegar for 2 weeks, pulled them up out of tote and they were like new, slight etch but easily sanded. But yeah on something thin, definitely don't let sit to long or might eat through the metal. Anyways I always recommend using vinegar because it works amazing ,and it's environmentally friendly, and you gotta love that lol..

    I think you should lift out the bottom end and split the cases. Less than half an hour would do it and you'd be able to clean it up as well. There's no gasket between the cases. I put a main bearing in one of these and put it back together and in the bike and had it running in 40 minutes. The joint between the cases must be clean and sealed with a thin coating of gasket sealer.

    This reminds me of the 1975 Suzuki TM 75 I had when I was a kid. Did a lot of wrenching on it as a kid. Unfortunately, I busted the piston and couldn't afford the $50 for a new piston and to rehone the cylinder. It sat in my back yard for nearly a decade with the head off. It eventually went to the dump just to get rid of it. This was long before all these online resources for selling things.

    Seat can be recovered, but best to replace as base is rotten,
    Handlebars can be replaced or just put in the correct position
    Lights, indicators and plate can be put back
    Tank can be cleaned and coated inside
    Spark can be brought back by buying a new coil.
    Frame can be stripped and repainted.
    All bushings and bearings can be replaced
    Plastics can be repaired for a rugged look or replaced.
    Cables can be replaced.
    It can be done.

    Par for the course with those old as hell, neglected dirt bikes, got one out back same way, pulled motor pulled all plugs etc, soaked in 20 gallon drum of diesel for 2 weeks, then broke it down. Was still rusty inside but not as bad as when it came in. Turned out guy that brought it in found in the creek running through his property, took tons of work and time to revive but it got done, guy told me to keep it, wasn't worth the expense. My neighbor is buying it, hes got all new plastics including tank. Best of luck to you bud, it's the things nightmares are made of.

    You need to take the engine out, strip it completely, separate the 2 halves of the engine to check the crank bearings, seals, and to clean it. With all that mess in the bottom half, it will need a good clean out. The crank could have bad pits on it and need replacing.
    The flywheel will have to come off and have a thorough clean.
    You still try to get a spark when you place hte spark plug on painted surfaces.

  • @shartne
    @shartne 3 роки тому

    I think a gallon of Thyme carberator cleaner might clean the gas tank out looks like oil in there. You can take it to a radiator shop and have it dipped then just put some Red coat in it to seal it and line it it will be as good as new. As far as being a Dirt Trail all you need to do to turn it to full race on that year is buy a One Ring racing piston and put that back in and it will rip. Of course there is so much stuff to fix on it. But it will make good videos this is really a chanllange for you that is for sure. Its a mono shock in the back thats cool. You can just block the oil pump and pre mix your gas. If its not full of water it may be save able. Looks like its been sitting under a roof eve. with water dripping on it day after day.

    Son, your best bet would be to strip all the nuts and bolts from the bag but I’m in a container. You might be able to carburetor and wheels down the road. And just cut your losses. Nuts and bolts are worth a lot when you need one

    For $150 use it for vintage cross country racing. I think that you got a deal!

    Great job getting that engine unstuck!!! If it was in the shape you've brought it to when you first went to look at it then in my opnion it would have been worth the 350. An engine that rotates even on a clapped out bike makes a whole new ball game. Keep going on this old bike and I can't wait to see the next installment.

    Don't forget that the crankshaft does not share the gear case oil you probably should remove the and turn it upside down and flush the crank case

    This is a perfect candidate for you to split the case and rebuild it. They are easy and cheap.

      thats the thing... he won't got through everything. he should pull the motor from the frame and crack the cases and get every bit of water, dirt, metal out of it so he don't need to buy bearings later down the road. not to mention we all know he's just gunna take a wire wheel to the clutch plates and say they are now "mint aha". the guy makes me laugh at how he goes about different issues lmao smh
