This happens once or twice a year where I live. There's so many ants that we can't turn on our lights when it turns dark and during the day, as weird as it might sound, we go out to compete with the birds catching queen ants to eat. Yes, to eat XD
Nuptial flights were in full swing where I am a few weeks back, I counted over 20 just in my front garden! Was tempted to catch some but sadly I don’t have the space to raise them properly, in a few years I will hopefully start my own colony.
Searched up carpenter ants hoping to find a video by you! I recently found a queen carpenter ant who had recently shed her wings and was ready to lay eggs soon while she was looking for a good nesting place. I noticed that one of her front legs were upside down for whatever reason and it was getting stuck in her other legs, making it harder for her to walk. In the past, I had a phase of wanting an ant farm, but never found a queen or figured out an ant type, so I saw this as an opportunity to use the variety of ant keeping stuff my uncle bought when he kept ants and gave to me after he stopped (Coincidentally, he bought it from your website). I decided to take her in and my uncle helped me set up a test tube for her to lay eggs in. I’ve had her for about a week now just in my closet and she is doing great! I searched this up so I could find you to learn more about how to care for her! Thanks!

You answered questions I had after witnessing this for the first time 26 years ago. What is this swarming thing? Why are they all dying suddenly?! What are these giant ant-like creatures? Thank you, AntsCanada.
I am going to guess it is a species of assassin bug, sometimes known as a "kissing bug," when a particular species decides to feed on human blood! They are big, and the pain from their bite is legendary!
do kissing bugs bite other places?? I thought they were called that due to the mouth bites. it has something to do with how sensitive they are to carbon dioxide coming form our mouth compared to other bloodsuckers.
If that's the same cottage from the blue ants vid, maybe you'll be able to find a queen of that species for the new ant room. Fingers crossed, cuz they really did look super cool lol
It’s not a spider, if it was the spider bites wouldn’t hurt. However, if the spider was bigger/a tarantula (which does pack a painful bite), he would’ve felt the individual legs crawling on his arms. A centipede goes by the same knowledge as well. I’m guessing a wasp, bee or a katydid.
