Excellent video, I'd have to question the use of the wee blowtorch to shrink the soldersleeve. I have a small diameter heat gun for these (not a paint stripper!) Also, it's better practice to stagger the cuts in the wiring so that they are not all sitting in the same place rubbing together in the final repair (especially if there's a chance they've been burnt)
I had to do the same last week with the drill and wire WITH A CHANGE. Once the wire is pushed/turned down the hole REVERSE the drill and pull it out. You have to make sure the end of the wire is not soldered closed, just snip a bit off the end. When reversed the wire "unscrews" itself and splays out pulling loads of carbon with it.
I signed up for this job in 1995/96 as an apprentice, it used to be enjoyable but sometimes cars really do test your patience.dont really enjoy it anymore if im honest
Had to do one of these but could not unblock the pipe for love or money, it had been ignored for so long. New pipe was only cheap but absolute nightmare of a job to replace it 😭 terrible design
How to book a vehicle for repair with you mate? Some great information in this video. I am having same issue with my car, spoke to couple mechanics locally but they thought I am talking french.
What is the sensor called that you removed please, it’s like a barometer inside the intake, that isn’t a MAF. I’m not a mechanic, I’ve never heard of this sensor. Any idea what it’s for? Useful video thanks!
Great video My renault capture 2017 is giving code df998 upstream pressure sensor mount fault my local garage reluctantly changed the sensor and checked rubber pipe for splits but fault is back , engine management light is on but some times goes off for a while then back on again , the garage says there is no more they can do !!! do you possible think the metal pipe could be blocked or partually blocked with carbon . any advice would be great.. Thanks
Hi mate i have Renault capture 2016, and i have these codes on my car even after changing these parts my car still the same and mines is not the only case i have seen couple of people goes under the same exact problem here is my codes: Fuel pressure sensor Implausible signal Coolant circuit switching solenoid valve Open circuit Consistent multiplex signals for CC/SL The data supplied to the cruise control or speed limiter are not correct.
Update, I’ve worked out it shows as BARO on my autel, and it’s stuck at 29.53 HG, which is about 1000 millibars. Apparently this car has had to have that cleaned out before(about a year ago). Questions please: Will I probably need a new sensor, or just a clean? All the crud you losen(I guess it’s carboned up oil from the PCV breather), will that block a turbo screen(if there is one), or make its way into the turbo and combustion chamber all at once, I don’t imagine that’s great for the engine, will I want my wet dry vac?
@@bazmeredith Thanks for the reply mate, please see the video in the link also can I book an appointment through email or do I need to ring. Thanks ua-cam.com/users/shortsEQa9XHjgBq8?feature=share

Is it because there more complex these days cars just seem to be a pain in the arse these days bring back the 1.6 cvh engine...
But the CVH has a cambelt , sometimes all that complicated injection stuff and is often installed transverse. Bring back the Ford Kent engine ! 🤣😂🤣😂
@@alantucker3014 that engine was before my time i grew up around the cvh so did all my mates we all had MK2 xr2 or the xr3i

Brilliant video. Great diagnosis work and a superb repair.
1013mbar is indeed atmospheric pressure
FFS use a hot air gun on the wiring joiners.
This was very informative. Wondering, would a new Upstream Hose blow again if the plug(s) is/are gone?
Very detailed and proffesional video, a proper modern mechanic, I subscribed!
Had this same issue on my traffic van, drove it a whole year before going to my mechanic 😅 he ended putting a whole new sensor in as well 👍
Your correct about the atmospheric pressure

I got the whole pipe and tube assy. changed on my K9K 110 Duster and the electrical malfunction light come on and goes off when driving by itself.
was thinking the same chris great content
Priceless information thank you 🙏

It may be tucked right down the back

What’s the point of a pressure sensors sensor before the turbo?
what kind of wire do you have for cleaning the pipe?

Wasn't french car 1 cylinder at flywheel side ?
Hiya - Is it sensible to do the pressure sensor pipe cleaning on a monthly basis?
No wouldn't have thought so they only normally block up the once

These Renaults seem to suffer badly with this and guess what i own a captur
I have Renault kadjar 1.6 with code df1058 on xtool 30m. Is this same or something else?
What a nightmare. Surely it would be better to get a part that fits without tampering with the loom?
It's a modification by Renault
is this the same process on the Laguna 3 ?
Fault No1. It's French. Fault No2. See fault 1.
