Don’t snooze on two seven guy.. wet dog chewing on a gym sock dipped in feta whilst in a humid basement on a foggy summers night. And it’s drizzling. That’s funky stank 49:37. The intro, same. 🫡🥁
Awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to make it. Not only did I get a lot from all the patterns, but really enjoyed listening to the band. Everyone is very gifted. God Bless!
Wow, this video is tasteful. Hey thanks @Basswave for sharing this precious collection of bass riffs. That's why God made basses. I love it!!!! xxoxoxx
Yeah that's Jerry Barnes, he's the bass player on "Sugar Free" by Juicy...a song in 1986 he did with his sister Katrice Barnes..UA-cam it...its quietstorm mellow funk.
@@oscarsantos2608, Well, this great is the cleanest I have ever heard. Larry set the foundation! His music is above the “ever heard” level. His music is a felt experience, in my opinion.
A very well structured and presented instruction on these bass guitar styles. Credit to Jerry for repeatedly saying that each pattern is "his style" or interpretation of a particular bass player credited with the genre - you'll never stop 'purists' from criticising but Jerry you're doing your thing and its all good from my perspective. Excellent
This is the REAL stuff right here! Puts all those pretentious slick lesson sites to shame. None of those sites offer what is the real essence of what's happening between Jerry and his musicians. Real playing situations that transport the band and the listener to another level which is essential in the quest to improve ones playing.
Mr Barnes you’ve graduated to the gods brither. Keep it up. I too will idolize and copy and learn from your techniques at well Oh I’ve played piano and took lessons all my life but always wanted to play bass Well guess what. I heard something a year and half ago;”hey it’s pandemic. Good time to learn a new instrument” Then the light bulb came on Anyway 11/2 later I’m doing the damn thing. Keep it up Brither I’m subzero bing and watching you!
Amy Pieterse seems that loads of women start to appreciate more and more the bass and like to a play it ? ... why ? Turn very attractive when they play that instrument btw ...
It's not just his awesome bass skills. It's the unbeLIEVable pocket of drum & bass together!
The tone of this bass is too great!!! I understand that Jerry plays like gods, but the tone of the bass is supreme
Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Everything (tone, emotion, groove) is in his hands :-)
Barnes is a pure pocket bassist aka groove machine. I like how Jerry simply state the role of the bassist and drummer synchronicity within the band.
percussionist vs lead. The eternal bass conflict.
Fucking love his face... You can feel his emotion... *Love this shit*
Brilliant video The late Jef Lee Johnson was a genius.
22:00 I love how the young lady nods her head in agreement with the funky bass riff line that was played. Music is definitely a language.
Patten1- 4:52 , Patten4 -7:24 , patten5 -8:12 , patten7 -14:00 , patten9 -15:28 , patten10 - 16:21 , patten11 - 17:25
