This hit me hard today. Due to a nasty bug, I haven't been in the Word much in the last two weeks. Today I studied Hebrews 2:1-4. In accordance and per AZ Tozer, "The bias of nature is toward the wilderness, never toward the fruitful field. Every farmer knows that it takes nothing to ruin a crop but everything to make it prosperous..... The neglected heart will soon be a heart overrun with worldly thoughts; the neglected life will soon become moral chaos; The law of the wilderness operates universally throughout our fallen world." Our phones have nothing to offer us in comparison to God's Word and spending time with Him.

Thank you, Faith! You have convinced me to read the Gospel today! ❤️🙌🤗👍 I was thinking about how scary and spooky it must have been to random people at the time to see all the souls ascend to Heaven and even appear to them on the streets. Really cool stuff. Also, Peter's character development and how personal he gets with Jesus at the end (spoiler alert: you get to read about this in ONE of the Gospels only). So much stuff packed in here! This is SO GOOD! I definitely need to buy myself a paper Bible as soon as I get the chance!🤗🙌❤️👍

I'm off this week from work, so I have all sorts of things I want to get done. I want to watch tv shows I'm behind on, I want to read my books before the end of the year, etc., but I know that if I don't turn those things off, I won't make the time or effort to get into God's word. That's the only way I can truly start my day. There are times I have to flip some things around, but once my brain slows down a bit, that's when I enjoy it as well.

Please pray for me. My testimony is one of faith. No matter what we are facing God will give us strength to over come. Even though every month I struggle to pay rent and I don’t know how I’m going to buy groceries for my children. I keep faith. I’m ashamed and discouraged. These past three years have been hard on me. Since suffering a heart attack two years ago and my on going battle with lupus. As a single mom I’m overwhelmed. My sons are autistic and have problems with social communication and interactions but they are thriving now that I’m homeschooling them. Due to me homeschooling them my hours to work are limited like my finances. I’m constantly in fear of homelessness. But I STILL TRUST IN YOU LORD. Faith over fear!

There is a lot of bibles to chose from, Which Bible is the right one to read?
    Catholic Bible:
46 books of the Old Testament
27 books of the New Testemant
For a total of 73 books
    - Protestant Bible:
39 Books of the Old Testament
27 Books of the New Testament
For a total of 66 books
    Other Bibles:
    Greek Orthodox Bible
    Russian Orthodox Bible
    Syriac Orthodox Bible
Ethiopian Orthodox Bible (There are 81 books in the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible)
Revised Common Lectionary - Used by the Lutheran Church and Anglican Church
Book of Mormon - Used by Mormons (Which most Christian reject)
We are not talking about differences of recitation, pronunciation, writing style or translation.
All of these have different chapters and verses. So which Bible is the true Bible? The True Bible that Jesus came with, peace and blessings be upon him.
You have books in the Catholic Bible, which are not found in the Protestant Bible. Which i will list here:
The Tobit, Judith, Widsom, Ecclesiiasticus (Sirach), Baruch, 1st and 2nd Maccabees.
    The 10-16 Chapsters of Esther.
Daniel 3:24-90 Song of the Three Young Men.
Daniel 13 the story of Susannah
Daniel 14 Bel and the Dragon.
Why is this important. Because it tells you that this process was indeed a process. Meaning there were books supposed to be Holy texts and Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox and others would go through and choose what they liked or found authentic and make up their own version of the Bible.
    The Syriac Othodox Bible includes:
    - Psalms 151-155
    - The Apocalypse of Baruch
    - The Letter of Baruch
Which are not found in the Protestant or the Catholic Bible.
When was these scriptures written and what is the earliest manuscripts? Now before we look at manuscripts that are even remotely close to a complete Bible. Lets have a look at some of the Fragments of chapters.
Example of some of the oldest Fragments of the Bible: (CE: Common Era / Christian Era)
The most important ones, the gospels.
Gospel of Matthew - 80-90CE (The date of its writing was 80-90CE, meaning 80-90 years after the time of Jesus, peace and blessings be upon him) This is based on three stands of evidence. (a) the setting of Matthew reflects the final separation of Church and Synagogue, about 85CE; (b) it reflects the capture of Jerusalem and destruction of the Temple by the Romans in 70 CE, (c) it uses Mark, usually dated around 70CE.
Date or range of dates most widely held by Scholars:
    - Gospel of Matthew written 80-90 CE (Earliest known Fragment 150-200 CE)
    - Gospel of John written 90-110 CE (Earliest known Fragment 250 CE)
    - Gospel of Mark written 65-73 CE (Earliest known Fragment 125-160 CE)
    - Gospel of Luke written 80-90 CE (Earliest known Fragment 175-250 CE)
This means most biblical scholars will say these accounts were definitely not written in the time of Jesus being on earth. We are talking about life long years...
This raises a very important point. These verses were not first hand reports, written down during the time of Jesus. That also shows in the language they were written in.
They were in fact written in cornice Greek and not written in the native Aramaic language that the disciples of Jesus would speak.
If you will not take this information from me... then take it from one of the best known biblical manuscript scholars.
    - Bart D. Ehrman, PHD - James A. Gary Distinguished Professor - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Here is what he had to say about the earliest manuscripts.
    I quote:
" How many manuscripts of the new testament do we have from the 1st Christian century? NONE!"
" How many from the Early 2nd century, manuscripts that clearly date up to around the year 150? We have ONE SCRAP... the size of a credit card."
"How many complete manuscripts from 2nd and 3rd century? NONE!"
"94% of the surviving manuscripts come from the 9th century or later"
Here is some Bible verses you might not have read before that should maybe be questioned by you as a Christian. You might say "what is the context?" if you go find these verses and read the context, then you will find that the context do not save these verses from their reality.
    Deuteronomy 22:28-29
If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not engaged, and seizes her and lies with her and they are discovered, then the man who lay with her shall give to the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall become his wife because he has violated her; he cannot divorce her all his days.
    Exodus 21:20-21
    New International Version
20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.
    Exodus 21:7-8
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. If she does not please her master, who has designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed.
    1 SAMUEL 15:3
    KJ21
Now go and smite Amalek and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.’”
    Psalm 137:9 ESV
Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!
    Numbers 31:17-18 ESV
Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him. But all the young girls who have not known man by lying with him keep alive for yourselves.
Now here is link to 101 Contradictions in the bible. Feel free to have a look for yourself. Why is that important? Because the Bible is the supposed word of God.. we all agree that a God that is perfect would never make a mistake or a contradiction.

Muslims may say that God dictated the Quran to Mohammed. Christians however do not say that God dictated the bible to anyone. It was written by different people in the course of 2000 years all in all. They lives in different times and places. Many of the Old Testament Stories Date Back to a time when Judaism did Not even exist. This is no news to Christians. It would be very surprising If all These authors from very different places Had No inconsistencies or disagreements amongst each other - in fact, If they didn't, that would make the bible very likely to be Fake (Like the book of Mormon).
Whether the Gospel according to Matthew was written after or before the destruction of the temple is a highly controversial question among Scholars. The once unisono opinion that it must have been written after, is based on antisemitic presentiments - it still could be written that late, but there is no actual proof for that.
By the way, AD 80 means eighty years after Jesus' birth, not death. Pauls Letters were written about 60-65AD, when several of the disciples were still around, e.g. Peter with whom Paul had a major argument. Anyway, even If the Gospels were written around the beginning of the second century, there is much evidence that the authors used material from eyewitnesses' accounts. Get into the synoptic problem and you'll see. Of course Nobody can prove that Christianity is true. Again, that is no news to christians.

Thanks! They are just from Amazon, but they are probably my favorite furniture I've ever bought from an online store, especially because I've definitely got my money out of them! I've moved them 3 times and they are still so sturdy! Here's an amazon (affiliate) link: amzn.to/47GlpV4

Put your watch on theater mode and silence your phone, using it only if necessary😉

Try a smiler challenge by putting down your phone 📞 and Apple Watch for 30 minutes while you Bible study only. Then work on everything else you need to do. Instead of using Bible Hub go your books and get an old fashioned timer that is not you phone 📞.

Faith...I wanted to know when you write notes in your Bible and you say only important ones that will mean something in a few years, how do you know what's going to be important in a few years?

Hey Orveta! Friend, it is good to see your name pop up! Basically, I mean anything I wouldn't naturally know on my own or probably wouldn't come across again in the future. Hope that helps you!

You probably shouldn’t mention people who are not living for the Lord and are reading witchcraft books. Definitely a stumbling block for some who are going to check out her channel. I did. And fantasy books about witches and demons is something I struggled with greatly just a year ago 😕
