@witchkewitchke8286 hi sis, there was so much that I loved so I'll list a few things. At first it started slow with the census and the numbering of Israel but it's so wonderful to see how God brought 70 Israelites to Egypt and 603,550 left within like 3-4 generations
But where it really picked up was chapter 10 onwards
Loved how Moses evangelised to his brother-in-law and brought him into the fold of God's chosen people it inspired me alot to reach out to those you love so they can also partake of the promised land
CHAPTER 14 was crazy good the drama of the Israelites wanting to kill Joshua and Caleb maybe even Moses and Aaron and then God coming in and telling Moses to move out of the way so He can kill them instead
Then God instead cursed them to roam the wilderness for 40 YEARS
Chapter 12 when Aaron and Miriam were jealous of Moses and gossiping about him and God called them out before everybody and exalted Moses before them
Chapter 16 the earth opening and swallowing the people who rose up against Moses THE EARTH OPENING AND SWALLOWING PEOPLE!!

If someone has a jewish background and has never read the Bible, Hebrews is a good book to start in for them.
How exciting! Honestly I’d go for Luke’s gospel then Matthew’s,Hebrews won’t make sense without a knowledge of christs words and Jesus character ❤️you can watch Mike winger too,very helpful !!

I also want to mention that not only does The Bible Project have great videos on their UA-cam channel, but on their app they even have in depth classes that have helped me learn more about the Bible. Also another great resource is Hillsdale Bible courses and it has also helped me learn a lot too.

I’ve been in a season of depression, and I’m hungry for God’s word, but then it’s like I get stuck in procrastination of all the other things I need to do. But right now this is my public statement (here in this comment section lol) that I need to pray more and resist putting anything above God because He is the #1 priority in my life! Hi it’s ok to read the KJV, it’s accurate but I wanted to mention people spread around it the “most accurate “ but it has been proven it’s actually not so people get scared to step out and try other easier translations , I can’t remember which one scholars have said is the true accuracy one but it’s not kjv ❤

It’s just a book that everyone is holding too close, even as the world falls down. A thing I certainly always found alarming about Christians is their disregard for world news and even local news. Everything is peachy at Sunday morning service, just trust in God. Except, when your boss suddenly fires you and you become one of those worried people, that people at church would rather not talk to, because they avoid talking about problems and personal issues. That they usually expect the needy, less fortunate regulars to have.
Even the Bible predicted the world would fall down that's how we still trust in God. He also told us that our lives would not be easy but he would be faithful and constant in our lives. Him being faithful doesn't mean he'll always give us what we want or grant our every heart and desire, he's not a genie.
@ Ironic because you might think that during prayer request time at a church service. Hmm how about some nice prosperity for you guys today. Most of us don’t want a damn wish giver, just want to have less figuring things out for ourselves. For a big percentage we fend for ourselves and we wonder if he’s really all grace and loving, or is he more a John Kramer/Jigsaw type creator.

However I just wanna point out that the Bible (while having multiple amazing different genres) does have a continuous narrative, and that's Christ! You can find Christ from the very first verse as the 'word' that God spoke and aaaaall the way to revelation 🤩 He's not mentioned by name ,but He is there in pictures, profesies (In Isaiah&psalms for example) and of course in the gospels ,but also after gospels in the life of his followers & revelation
Yes this is absolutely true! I meant “narrative” as in some parts just read more like a story while others read like a song or poem, etc. Christ is absolutely found in every part of the Bible 😊

1. Heart dive on UA-cam , she reads and EXPLAINS, the Bible ! ❤
2. THE NLT! It’s a great Bible and it words things easier and if you’re like me I’m 22, but I am bad with vocabulary the NIRV kids Bible has everything but words it all at a 3rd grade reading level!!
3. If you already know about Jesus, start at the beginning of the Bible. I kept starting at the New Testament and had a hard time understanding stuff because Jesus would mention or Paul would mention these people like Abram , Jacob, Joseph , Isaac and I would be so lost and not know who these people are and wouldn’t really get it! ❤

11. "the Cross of Christ" and the "Crown of Thorns" can be worshiped?

15. meat was not to be consumed on Fridays or during Lent?

So, contrary to what you say, Catholics are not falling in love with the Bible. That explains why Catholics oppose sola scriptura.

@@hockman43 Many Baptist beliefs originated in Catholicism. When Martyn Luther broke from the Catholic Church, it wasn't a clean break because he took some Catholic beliefs with him. The trinity is one of those beliefs. Baptists believe in the trinity. As The Baptist Encyclopædia says:“[Jesus] is . . . the eternal Jehovah . . . The Holy Spirit is Jehovah . . . The Son and Spirit are placed on an exact equality with the Father. If he is Jehovah so are they.”

If you are interested I can give you many verses that the esv made errors changed the meaning of verses by adding there own understanding based on there systemic theology
Esv is put together by reform calvinist
Calvinist who hold to tulip doctrine are false n many councils rejected them as Christians
We check between multiple verses, not just ESV, it’s good to go between different ones but typically ESV is just a little easier to understand for some people.
Please reconsider Bible project. They have many false teachings
