A quick video describing issues with our Powerbolt Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt that doesn't protrude/retract the bolt fully (it takes multiple times).
i had the same issue & i had to press lock twice, but when i replaced a new battery it fixed the problem, other issue for me is when you slam the door shut the battery inside pops out & loose contact, so I put a piece of card board & tape all 4 battery, now its winter -10 c out 2 buttons stops working & lock doesnt work sometimes...I used it for 2 years though & its now time to replace
Might be worth having it replaced. The battery compartment on newer lock models is a lot better, I actually have a hard time replacing the batteries as they're held in place VERY securely!
+Duke Nukem I'm yet to install the replacement one that they shipped me a number of weeks ago. Dishwasher and water heater broke in between, shuffling my priorities. Will let you know when it's installed. Might be tomorrow.
I have the exact same problem, did the replacement work out okay? Mine sometimes won't protrude, and other times won't retract, which problem seems to depend on the phase of the moon.
YES! I finally took the time to replace it last week and everything is working perfectly with the new one. It's more compact however, so it doesn't cover the previous system screw holes. Bummer. Looks a little crappy but white caulking should help. New system is a lot better, newer technology, better motors, and even audio feedback (beep). Very pleased with the lifetime warranty.
The latch won't stay unlocked. The turnpiece just springs back into locked position. It was working fine up until an hour ago when I unlocked and locked it manually with the key to ensure I had the right key to give to my friend, in case she forgot the code. Any idea what I did and why it won't stay unlocked. I have to manually hold the turn piece now in order to close and open the door. It just stays locked all the time. It's not jammed because it can move in and out fine... it's just the turnpiece that refuses to stay unlocked. Please help!
when I press lock it lock perfect but when I put my code to get into the house the bolt only goes half way and the door wouldn't open, what should I do about it?
The fix for this.... They use an O ring to drive the dead bolt. Using the friction of the O ring. As the O ring gets old it will deteriorate. Also never spray oil at the lock mechanism.
That did the trick! Thank you! I was pressing the sides and trying to slide it up, but it only worked after I pushed it down first. @@dronesandmore1977
+Randa Hewitt How did it break? You might want to contact Weiser Locks, they provide lifetime warranty on their products. Not sure whether your problem would be covered though.
Thank you for your reply. You are right; I did call them and they said that they would send me a another battery pack. When I remove the battery pack to change the battery, it fell on the floor and broke.
Because it will do it under 1 second. But the motor slows so it is expects that it's going to be locked on but it's not

I suspect there is a drive wheel which is wore out or otherwise has a flat spot. Was it fixed and if so how?

I have the same problem except it always springs back to the open position. Were you able to resolve this?
I just fixed the springing open issue by taking out and putting back in the batteries.

Mony Ezat wd40 is the magic word
I know it’s 6 years later but did you ever resolve this issue? My door is giving me the same problem, so I use my key now.

Good to know! Also their products apparently have a lifetime warranty.
How is the battery cover supposed to be opened? I need to replace the batteries but the cover won’t open.
The cover slides from the top down. To remove it, slide it from the bottom up.

+Randa Hewitt Awesome! Glad they're replacing it for you. :-)
Thank you. I got it, and my lock is working perfectly again.
Yay!
