    PowerBolt 1: Weiser Powerbolt 1, electronic lock. What is interesting is the other day I had to open a Weiser PowerBolt 1 because the malfunctioning lock had been installed on a pool room door and was failing to open. I purchased the Weiser Powerbolt 1 at the local Big Box Hardware store and the Battery Backup failed to open the deadbolt.

    The other users are right, you need the 4 dead AAs in the slots to boost it

  • @maus909
    @maus909 3 місяці тому +1

    The 9v backup option only works if you have 4 "dead" batteries installed AND the battery cover installed... Because in real world situation, your door would be closed and locked with the lock installed properly and then the batteries are depleted for whatever reason, you can use the 9v to boost the installed AA and then unlock the deadbolt.

      Doesn’t work with corroded batteries.
      Had more than a few lockouts and the 9 volt battery option failed.

    You need to have de AA battery 🔋 in
    Because the 9v is for boost the inside battery 🤦‍♂️

    Maybe you have to have dead batteries in the back for the power to run through

    Mr lock you need to push in the code then the unlock button. Like you do the normal way. Locksmiths should know this.

    STOP MOVING THE 9V battery around and it will probably work

    Do the door handling process all over if you get 3 beeps and nothing happens. I got the process on line ..not on the instructions?

    Even though it may be true that the use of the 9v battery works if the 4 AA batteries are installed, this would show a serious design error.

    Hi Mr Lock. I am in a similar situation. You said the solution fir the customer was to drill the lock. How is this done in the case of a digital deadbolt?

  • @8til826

    Instead of a 9v it should have come installed with an outlet for a battery pack. Imo

    Du. Put the 9v on the front and then press the unlock code!

    Any suggestion for one that won't program? It goes through anything I do and then beeps three times. Won't let me set the hand, won't let me put in a user code. I just watched you do the same thing I am and yours works 🤷😭

    • @24hrMrLocksmith
      @24hrMrLocksmith  3 роки тому +1

      You can’t use the 1/2 or 4/5 numbers depending on the hand of the door. Use different numbers. No instructions on that, I tried using the 1/2 button and it wouldn’t program (LH Door). Farted around with different numbers and it worked. Again, next to useless instructions.

      Check the cable, if the numbers dont beep then it means the cables not connected. Happened to me

      No I ended up having to return it. Customer service was great and sent me out a new one that worked.

    So the only way to open it when batteries are dead is drilling it?

    Anyone know how to reset without knowing the previous codes? Is there a factory reset?

    • @24hrMrLocksmith
      @24hrMrLocksmith  5 місяців тому

      Sometimes the factory codes are on the inside of the lock. You have to remember the lock.
      Also, go to the Weiser website and download the manual.

    It only work with minimum powered battery, the 9v only give it boost , it wont power it completely

    They should put in a secondary battery inside in case it loses power like an alarm clock that doesnt lose the time when you lose power. hmmmmm

    • @cybersonic8472
      @cybersonic8472 3 роки тому +1

      It wouldn't make a difference. The lock already gives ample warning by red light flashes and different beeps but nobody notices until the lock wont open. If you have a backup battery they would still just go till its dead

  • @ottodydaktyk
    @ottodydaktyk 3 роки тому +4

    I do know that 4 AA batteries = 6 volts when in series, so the 9 volt battery may be causing a problem. You would think since they designed it to use one on the front, they would just step it down to 6 volts. Maybe try a 4 AA battery holder with exposed wires and hold them down on the exposed studs on the front? Also, maybe the dead batteries still need to be in the unit (i.e. reading low voltage there). Looking forward to the answer to this question.
