I had an interesting lockout the other day. I had to open a Weiser PowerBolt 1 because the malfunctioning lock had been installed on a pool room door and was failing to open.
The Batteries were dead and a 9 Volt Battery was attached to terminal and the lock still failed to open. Several other 9 Volt Batteries were used to attempt to "jump start" the PowerBolt and all attempts failed.
New day, I purchased a Weiser Powerbolt 1 at the local Big Box Hardware store and the Battery Backup failed to open the deadbolt on the new lock.

Methinks you have a hate on for Weiser or an agenda. My batteries on my Powerbolt 1 were deader than a door nail. Took a fresh Energizer 9V with neg facing lock to right(as per manual). Punched in code and bada Bing bada boom. I was in. All this in -12c weather.
“Just gotta be smarter than the lock I guess”!

Take a wire and make contact in the back when you remove the battery. I’m sure the connector need to have a contact (dead battery will still close the contact loop)

I think the dead batteries have to stay in there.
