How to Reset/Troubleshoot Weiser SmartCode 10 Lock

  • If your Weiser SmartCode 10 Keypad Deadbolt is not working properly, you can resolve the problem by resetting the lock. A reset will restore the factory default settings and fix minor glitches in the lock.
    Also, if you've lost your code or want to clear all existing codes and reprogram the lock, resetting the lock will do the trick.
    In this video, you'll learn how to reset your Weiser SmartCode 10, set the locking and unlocking direction and add new codes. This should get your lock to function properly again.

    The lock on mine won’t extend or retract. Why is that? I followed the steps exactly and have the exact same model.

      Try using new batteries to see if that resolves the issue. If it still doesn't work, the problem might be with the installation. Uninstall and reinstall the interior assembly -- ensure that the two long screws on the interior assembly are not too tight

    I'm having trouble removing an existing code. I press the program button then #2 then the lock button then the user code then the lock button again then the user code again then the lock button. The deadbolt goes in and out and then that's it. When I lock the door then use the deleted code I find it still works? How can I remove a four digit code properly? Thanks

      @@jimdevonshire5275 The deadbolt shouldn't go in/out when you remove a User Code. It looks like the lock isn't working properly -- probably because you didn't run the door handing detection after installation.
      I recommend you reset the lock. Then run the door handing detection and add new User Codes.
      Note: Resetting the lock will remove all existing codes.

    The bolt is extended at the end of the "Door Handing" section (until 3:16), then at 3:17 (beginning of "Adding User Code" section), the bolt is retracted... at what point should the retraction happen, because it's not shown in the video

      Hi there,
      Yes, the bolt is extended at the end of the door handing process and it's complete. You can retract the bolt manually via the interior thumb turn. That's what I did, and you're correct -- I didn't show that in the video.
