What? Drugs were invented way before the 80s. So was crime. Bombs were going off in the UK and France and other places. Terrorists hijacked planes regularly. But the music was awesome though.

Letzte Woche habe ich eine Fehlgeburt erlitten. Gestern bin ich mit meinem Freund im Auto gefahren und nach vielen grauen Tagen schien die Sonne aus den Wolken hervor und leuchtete mir die gesamte Autofahrt ins Gesicht. Im Radio lief „Feels Like Heaven“. Ich habe mich in diesem Moment meinem Kind und dem Himmel so nah gefühlt wie noch nie. Es war der Moment, in dem ich merkte, das meine Heilung beginnt und mein Kind der schönste Engel im Himmel ist.

As someone who experienced being a teenager with no internet and phones and then full smart phones I know it bought some positives but I do think overall there was something magical about the pre phone / social media era. Im thankful to have experience life without it for sure
@@ExplorewithSarahlouise for sure it was. Maybe not just due to the absence of mobiles but my first 7 years in the 70s magical in so many ways. Maybe because start of 80s meant starting school but I felt a very distinct change when we went into the 80s
Also same as some felt internet and then smartphones as new thing coming. In the 80s the home computer and video games really took off. It was magic putting a coin into the machine and play pacman. And then run to find your friends to tell them. (I mean there was no mobiles so you usually needed to find them)
And yes it was for sure less stress and more direct communication. Big topics as the new ice creams and collector cards. Then again I guess all kids have their magic moments I just happened to have mine in the same time era as “Stranger things” btw thank you for making me go back a bit and remember. I should do that more often 💚

When the record was released, I was 20, bought it right away and did not stop listening to it. Now I am sixty, and I am still in love with this beautiful song. And it takes me back to the 80ies, a wonderful time full of sensational music.

I had the intro melody of this song stuck in my head for almost half my lifetime, but I didn't know how to find the band's or the song's name, knowing well that the chance of finding out decreases with each passing hour due to more and more music being created and less people essentially remembering this song...
