80s music is so layered and so good. Oh how times change. What happened? Such a great riff and sweet song.
A lot of musicians "back in the day" were students of music. Some studied classical techniques. Maybe they started out in High School Band, but a lot of bands had real musical training, like Queen, and ELO. Then came "rap" and the "internet". Remember Bieber? Neither do I.

@@annettematisz46 I'll suggest that the early days of "Rock and Roll" were monetized from the beginning, with Elvis and The Beatles leading the charge.
There was ultimately money to be made, which drove the promoters (I forget who it was for Elvis), record labels, concerts, and radio industries.
We just can see it clearer today.
One of the best, most beautiful songs ever written, if not the best... so beautiful. I can listen to this over and over and never tire of it. Robert was touched by genius and the Gods when he wrote this perfect song. Exquisite!
