I have to agree! I made 🇯🇲 Jerk chicken for my 1st time last weekend and my whole family agrees that the Walkerswood Jerk chicken was better than the dish we buy from the restaurants! 😋
Exactly. I am not Jamaican and I know this. If a person is Jamaican and they say they use Grace, I know off the back that they don't know how to cook. For Curry, it's either Jamaica's Choice or Blue Mountain. Anything else is just blasphemy.
I make my own but tryed walkerwoid but ass dry rub befor wet marinade gustus vitae dry rub gives it a more spicy kick it’s better that way One I make you don’t have to I use some hot peppers spice it up
I feel ya on that ! For me the issue is time, when I make my own and I want ALL of the flavor there are like 17 ingredients in it which can take a minute to put together.
@Shrashira, thanks for the video; it was very informative! However, by the end, I felt that the part where you mention which of the two has the better flavor is missing. Cheers!
I can agree but I have to feed picky eaters that are not to fond of spicy stuff. Either way I can enjoy it, I guess over the years I have learned to enjoy it both ways.
Do'nt Worry Brother, Jerkman's Grill Jerk Seasoning is on the way to give your taste budds a hole new, flavorful, Jerk Treat.Grace,Walkers wood,Old School Jerk.
I just recently had Walkerwoods hot and spicy. Its was crazy salty. I dont know if i just had a bad batch, or is this is how it taste. If so, that was horrible.
What is your opinion of the Cool Runnings brand? I noticed that it gets far less recognition than Grace, even though it's been around for a long time and also makes Caribbean-style seasonings, marinades, and sauces.
What can I add to the Grace sauce to taste more like the Walkerswood please? I preffer the Walkers but my area of town store does not have it, only the Grace one which does bot taste like Jerk season to me. I added some soy sauce, what else shall I add to taste like Walkerswood jerk sauce please help me.
Welcome Aboard ! Thanks for the support. 🍻 In an oven set the temperature to 425 degrees. Place chicken on baking sheet or roasting pan in center of oven. Cook chicken for 25 minutes, then flip chicken over and cook for an additional 20 to 25 minutes. The skin should be nice and crisp. But watch it as every oven acts a like little from others.
I think Walkerswood and Grace are both excellent, and very close to real Jamaican jerk, which I've had many times. I prefer Grace just because it's not so salty. But in my area, it's harder to find Grace, so Walkerswood is what's in my fridge right now.
I think they're maybe only slightly different. Walkerswood is more available in the U.S. And I think less expensive. I've used Walkerswood and it's really close to a homemade Jerk seasoning. Grace is used mostly outside the U.S. and the prices I've seen for it I wouldn't pay. This video has no clear winner.
I bought Walkerswood Mild, and I’m making a test batch this week. Wish me luck. The marinade is salty asf; just gonna put onion and garlic powder on my chicken. The heat is tolerable too. I’m gonna use a bit of the marinade because of the saltiness.
What I've noticed is that a lot of these marinades are salty by themselves, but doesn't always translate when cooked on the food. Doing a test batch is an excellent idea. 💪🏽🍻
@@Shrashira It is. I’d rather do a test batch than to jump the gun. If the drumsticks turn out good with just the marinade, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika, then that’ll be all I need. If not, I’ll salt the chicken a little with a little bit of Goya Adobo. Now that I’m thinking of it, I’ll add a little bit in my test batch.
I ordered pimento leaves, I’m gonna order some pimento wood & super fresh whole Jamaican pimento(allspice). I’m gonna make my Jerk sauce from scratch & use Red Savina habaneros that I grew. I’m gonna gonna cook it low & slow with pimento wood & charcoal. I can’t wait.
Grace jerk seasoning is the very best started using it roughly 20 odd years ago its the hottest plus taste more authentic if you like extra spice in your chicken dish Grace's jerk season never fails me!!!!🙄🙄...
@@Shrashira It's really good. I made some Jerk Chicken just yesterday using Eaton's Boston Bay Jerk marinade and was awesome flavor through the bone.. lol
I have been hearing that a lot. I wonder if the recipe changed ? I will concede and say that if I cook it in the oven I get more of a salt flavor, but not when I grill or smoke it with pimento wood and pimento berries.
As a Jamaican, anything other than Walkerswood is blasphemy... Unless you make your own
It's always better homemade. But sometimes you have to give store bought a try if you're in a bind. 💪🏽🍻
I have to agree! I made 🇯🇲 Jerk chicken for my 1st time last weekend and my whole family agrees that the Walkerswood Jerk chicken was better than the dish we buy from the restaurants! 😋
WalkersWood is literally everything you use that’s homemade ….. Grace I don’t know about but I will stick with WalkersWood
Exactly!!

New here. Walkerswood for me every time. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a Grace guy but will not turn away Walkerswood !
I have tried both many times, but prefer Walkerswood hand down. I never tried mild, but the regular Is so good, I eat it on crackers.
You know something, I NEVER thought to use it as a dip ! Ok I see you, lemme add that to my todo list 🍻
I've tried both. Walkerswood is still my favorite, but I like the spice. Grace didn't seem to have enough flavor to me.
Grace is a good way to ease folks into Jerk cuisine. It doesn't have the immediate punch that Walkerswood has.
Grace is too sweet. WW or homemade
I use Grace all the time, and we love it. Haven't tried Walkerswood yet.
I also love Grace but Walkerswood gave me additional options ! 💪🏽🍻
I add it to rice, so yummy 🤤.
Wakerswood is the winner.
I wouldn't turn either down.
Thank you 👏🏽. I bought the Walkerswood and put it on my finger and that shii still in the fridge 🥵
Was it the Hot & Spicy one or the mild ? Even the mild has a little something extra 😉🤣🍻

I would definitely give them a shot and see what you think. 🧡

I haven't really gotten into the dry rub versions enough to give a fair comment. But I will absolutely look into it ! 💪🏽🍻
If I’m not making my own I will always go with walkers hot. Taste better than a lot of restaurant jerk chicken done right.
I feel ya on that ! For me the issue is time, when I make my own and I want ALL of the flavor there are like 17 ingredients in it which can take a minute to put together.
Walkerswood is far superior to Grace.
It does seem to give you more of a kick when you taste it.
Amazon couldn’t get my walkerswood to me in time for thanksgiving but Grace was available over night. We’ll see how I like it.
I think you'll like it.
Graces is hard to find in my area(Wisconsin). So Walkerswood is in my fredge.
Same, I have to order mine online 😢🍻
@Shrashira, thanks for the video; it was very informative! However, by the end, I felt that the part where you mention which of the two has the better flavor is missing. Cheers!
Thanks for checking it out. It was my opinion on them and depending on heat expectations I gave info on how it might play out.
Walkerswood is my Go To, but will now give Grace a try. THANKS
Yes, Go for it ! ! !
It's nice to have options ! 🍻
I used Grace and my chicken was delicious!
I have never went wrong with Grace ! ! !
They only sale Walkers Wood in my area(WI).
Same here really, I have to order the others online.
Walkers wood for me di best
I enjoy that one as well.
Check the ingredient list. If the 2nd ingredient, after scallions, is *Scotch Bonnet Peppers* then you have a winner. 🤔
If not, pass. 😘
Walkerswood uses Scotch Bonnet Peppers.
Grace does not.

That Walkerswood definitely needs at least 7-8 hours of marinate, the entire taste is different if it’s any time less.
I love long marinating times for my meats as well !

Tried them both. I’m sorry, grace is much better to me! It’s actually spicy. There is too much citrus in walkers wood for me.

For the purposes of the review I do not. I want to see what the companies are bringing to the table before I adjust anything .
WALKERSWOOD 😂
Walkerswood appears to be spicier. I have the spicy version taunting me everyday from the pantry 👀🍻
